I'm not going after Baylor at all, you are. I'm not a hypocrite like you are. I know my school is dirty and hopefully cheats a lot.

Edit: hopefully a lil' extra cheating this year because we will have a good team and may need a nudge past Bama.
Let me help you here.  You shouldn't be bragging about your school cheating.  Speaks volumes about you.

Let me help you out. Your school cheats too. They all do and if you think otherwise you're a moron or a sucker or both. In your case we might add a third category.

and here i thought Tom Herman is getting kids to UH by his dashing looks and charm.

So if other people are doing it it is okay?  Are you okay if your kids cheat on a test at school but don't get caught?

You may be right that all schools cheat but I certainly hope that isn't the case.  I would be supportive of my school if I knew they were cheating.

FTR I have not gone after Baylor at all.  I just put it up there and said seemed off to not hold the coach responsible.  For a systemic problem of horrible sexual abuse that is rampant on that campus if the reports are to be believed.  To think I am going after them is a whole level of extrapolation on your part but whatever.

Yes. I'm not talking about violent crimes and/or felonies. But please hand out all the money, take their tests and do all the other impermissible benefits that the scumbags at the NCAA deem illegal.

Ps, UCLA signed a 28 million dollar shoe contract today.

Are we pinning Hernandez on Meyer? If not, it seems like Urban is way, way closer to every other coach than what Briles and Baylor are accused of.

I'm not saying he is equal to what Briles has allegedly done, but he's not a choir boy either. None of them are.

Edit: there are a lot of rumors that UF covered up a bunch of his stuff while there.

Who's claiming they're all perfect? What Briles and co have done is ####### disgusting and should result in people going to jail. "All coaches cheat", whoever they are, shouldn't be brought up anywhere near this topic.

Settle down

This report is gross.

"Baylor failed to take appropriate action to respond to reports of sexual assault and dating violence reportedly committed by football players. The choices made by football staff and athletics leadership, in some instances, posed a risk to campus safety and the integrity of the University. In certain instances, including reports of a sexual assault by multiple football players, athletics and football personnel affirmatively chose not to report sexual violence and dating violence to an appropriate administrator outside of athletics. In those instances, football coaches or staff met directly with a complainant and/or a parent of a complainant and did not report the misconduct. As a result, no action was taken to support complainants, fairly and impartially evaluate the conduct under Title IX, address identified cultural concerns within the football program, or protect campus safety once aware of a potential pattern of sexual violence by multiple football players.

In addition, some football coaches and staff took improper steps in response to disclosures of sexual assault or dating violence that precluded the University from fulfilling its legal obligations. Football staff conducted their own untrained internal inquiries, outside of policy, which improperly discredited complainants and denied them the right to a fair, impartial and informed investigation, interim measures or processes promised under University policy. In some cases, internal steps gave the illusion of responsiveness to complainants but failed to provide a meaningful institutional response under Title IX. Further, because reports were not shared outside of athletics, the University missed critical opportunities to impose appropriate disciplinary action that would have removed offenders from campus and possibly precluded future acts of sexual violence against Baylor students "

WACO, Texas, April 18— For the first time in the 151-year history of Baylor University, dancing has been allowed on campus at the Southern Baptist school.

Baylor's president, Robert Sloan Jr., decided in February to lift the ban on dancing, which is still considered morally harmful by some strict Baptists.

But he warned students against being "obscene or provocative." No pelvic gyrations; no excessive closeness; no "Dirty Dancing."

On Wednesday night, Mr. Sloan, clad in a tuxedo, and his wife, Sue, wearing a sequined evening gown, stepped into the street in front of the student center and danced to a Beethoven minuet.

The Haskett-Burleson Big Band broke into Glenn Miller's "In the Mood." The Sloans shifted gears into a jitterbug to approving howls and hoots from the crowd, an estimated 7,000 students and alumni.

Other bands performed country, rock-and-roll, and rhythm and blues.
:lmao:

Those crazy whacky Baptists.

There's cheating and then there's cheating. Covering up sexual assaults is never defensible. But boosters could openly hand out hundies to players by the bucketload and we should all be ok with that.

Kind of think that Baylor should just shut down its whole athletic program.  Seems like they are willing to do anything to have a somewhat-relevant program in football and basketball.

Already calls to shut it down for a year.

Thing is they named more than just Briles in this report.  Several staff members are called out.  They will likely have to completely start over. In June.

Who would ever want to coach there for this upcoming season?

Worked out OK for Bill O'Brien.

No sense in punishing the 80-90 kids who have done nothing wrong, unless you're allowing them immediate transfers. Even still, so many would need to uproot their lives on short notice.

Play the year and donate every single dollar of revenue (not profits which get manipulated) to charity. They're rich enough to run on a full deficit for a year. That's a start.

@CapellaAnother desperate over-pay by UA.
To give this $280M deal some perspective, Nike pays UGA about 1/4 of that...and the UGA licensed business is twice the size of UCLA.  Nike pays Alabama slightly more than UGA.

It's $2M more/year than the latest Nike/Ohio State deal...and the OSU business is 4X the size of UCLA.

You may be right, but do you really see a scenario where Oregon only wins 7 games?  If they get average defensive play this year 10 games is a lock.
Well.....

1 - we have no idea how this QB transfer will play.  Adams worked when he was healthy which brings me to...

2 - what on earth have they done to upgrade the QB position so a reliable backup is in place and...

3 - they lost the best defensive player they've had in years and don't have much to offer this one.  Brady Hoak is not going to fix the worst LB and DB group I've seen perhaps in my lifetime.  That was rancid.

You think they win in Lincoln?  I say it's doubtful.  I think WSU is going to be a tall task in Pullman especially if that passing defense is putrid.  Leach will be salivating to face that group.  USC in LA?  I don't like it.  Wash and Stanford are predicted to finish ahead of Oregon, so I am worried about those games too.

Let's be honest, Lockie was the worst QB in college football last year.  Both Prukop and Jonsen looked good in the spring game.  Lockie didn't even take a snap at qb.  He was a back up receiver.  I think Jonsen as a redshirt freshman can be very good.  Prukop is getting very good reviews, not as good as Adams imo, but should be a Darron Thomas equivalent.

Hoke changed the defense to a 4 3.  Players seem more comfortable and Hoke has said he will be more aggressive in blitzing.   How many times did Pellum only rush 3 last year which resulted in a 1st down on 3rd and long?  Oregon has very good athletes,  secondary should be a strength this year.  LB will be average, d line pretty good.

I think Oregon beats Nebraska.   Washington is at home, way overrated, not worried at all.  Stanford at home, we beat them last year, should be good game.  USC is overhyped as usual, but at USC could be toughest game.  WSU will be a battle but should win.

I think Oregon wins the PAC this year.

All right, all right.  I tend to look at the optimistic side.  However,  I don't see a scenario where they don't get a minimum 6 wins in a worst case scenario.

All I know is that Oregon has one of the best offenses in college football the past 10 years.  The talent at RB, WR, and TE this year is the best it has ever been.  Now if the offensive line and qb don't step up then that is where problems could occur.

Ole Miss slipped their response to the NCAA NOA in today, as the sports world is looking the other way at Baylor and heading into Memorial Day weekend.
