*Official 2016 Philadelphia Eagles* - The year of Change (2 Viewers)

Sure, but that's just the wrench this QB drama needs.
I for one am happy to admit that I am not a scout for QB talent, so if they feel confident enough jumping to #2 to get a QB, I trust they will be happy with either. can't imagine you jump into 2nd slot and still hope for some luck.

I think I even said it here but I prefer Wentz to Goff. I'm not a fan of QB's that work strictly from the gun, his size worries me and his hand size could be an issue too. Wentz is the one to have here IMO. The Rams will take Goff, thrust him right into the fire, in a tough division, with no weapons. I worry for Goff.

Wentz's experience in a pro-style offense, under center and reading D's is helpful, but from what I have heard, Goff worked a ton on taking the ball from under center and looked good doing it in workouts.

Listening to a lot of Goff/Wentz analysis on podcasts in the past few days, I am starting to get a little bit of cold feet with Wentz.  It seems like they have similar ceilings but Goff is like twice as likely to make it there (which goes along with what Bob, or someone, posted last week with the bust likelihood from FO or PFF, or somewhere).

Also a good reason to have him sit and get used to the daily operations of being in the NFL. That way when it is time for him to be the guy he has nothing else to worry about but football.

The taking balls from center may not be that big in the grand scheme of things. As far as Wentz goes he seems to have all NFL tools. The size, arm in every way, mobility and by all accounts the intelligence and intellect to handle being an NFL starting QB. From listening to him the drive appears to be there as well to prove doubters wrong about him and small school success.

IMO Wentz appears to have a higher ceiling as well.

The other plus for Wentz I haven't seen mentioned and it's one of the biggest for me is the coaching. These guys all seem to know coaching up a QB and they're going to dedicate the resources to him which will be much needed.

I just hope we get Wentz so I can say things like "I Wentz to the John" or "It Ertz Wentz I laugh" and #### like that.

good breakdown by Mayock regarding what Howie was thinking during the whole process. interesting to hear how it kind of played out

am watching ESPN feed, missed that, damn.  What did he say.
basically what we would think. but he had a conversation with Howie about if these QBs were something special (I took that as Howie asked a bunch of people what they thoughts about the QBs). he was excited so tried to trade up and got to where he thought would be fine which was 8. i remember back then there wasn't much talk at all about Wentz going as early as he did. Really forced Howie's hand as it got closer and he just felt like he didn't want to miss this opportunity.

maybe just hearing it was good, but you would assume a lot of these guys go through a lot of work to find out about these rookies. thinking about it, i am sure many look and see the upside and try to figure out what is the best value and compare it to a more long-term approach with the team. I posted an article, probably 20 pages back now, that basically explained there will likely be 15-18 teams fighting to get a franchise QB the next 2-5 years. so i am hoping Howie looked long-term, and knew this was when he had to make a move.

jerks killed my bet of Zeke over 7.5 pick. Was tempted to buy out of my wager the last few days, but didn't think they would grab him at 4. Ballsy pick
Just too obvious to Jerry. They were 12-4 with a decent RB behind that line 2 years ago. So now he has a better RB behind that line. Never mind the defense is still terrible. He figures 350 carries a year will save the defense.

Wasn't the best pick possible, but there is some logic to it.  Keep Romo healthy and the D off the field by running the ball.  It will pay off in the short term, but if Elliot's productive into his second contract he'll have done something not many RBs manage.

Yeah, my guess is he will have a great rookie year. But like with Demarco, Cowpokes will probably be dummies with him and burn Zeke out by his 2nd or 3rd year cause they give him 400+ carries a year or 2 in a row.

They just showed Tunsil on screen.  Is it cruel to wonder if his eyes are red because he's upset, or, you know...

Eh, not really that impressed w/ the rest of the NFC East so far.  Some value at their picks and both seemed to reach.  Obviously who knows how it all works out.  But drafting an RB at 4, do like that.

How so?  First I've heard that Hargreaves wasn't the clear #2 CB
Just from what I saw.  I mentioned here before that I thought Apple would go before Hargraves would. He was mock hype, small, slow and gives up the big plays.

Apple is still raw and needs better technique but has a lot of measurables.
