*Official 2016 Philadelphia Eagles* - The year of Change (2 Viewers)

I didn't realize just how long ago these were. He was what, 17 at the time? Thank god I wasn't a good athlete and had Twitter at that age lol.

Love the positions but man, the guys I would have LOVED and been amazing value kept getting sniped right before us. First Shon Coleman in round 3 would have been amazing, then Perkins and Howard I would have loved in the fifth and wen right before us, then Westerman I was giddy might drop to us with our other 5th rounder and again gone a couple spots before us. Disappointing knowing how close we were to these guys but maybe Howie didn't like them anyways and wanted the guys we took anyways.

Blake Countess DB

Played at Michigan and then transferred to Auburn. Named defensive team MVP last season. Ran a 4.47 40 at his pro day.

It's all a crap shoot at this point.

I was just coming in to post about a FB. Has one even been picked her?

Glad to hear Howie say they spoke with Smallwood prior to picking him as well.

Will Parks - S - Arizona

Selected by the Broncos. Local kid, nephew of my coworker. Glad to see he got picked - especially considering his family rented out a hotel ballroom to throw him a draft party today. Probably would have been a real downer if he went undrafted.

Just woke up. Love the Tackle pick....HATE the RB pick. Smallwood?
The more I read the better he seems actually. Videos look pretty impressive and I was shocked I didn't hear more about him prior to the draft after watching him.

Tommy Lawlor also had a piece saying how impressed he was with him I posted a little while back

Jalen Mills. Started as a true freshman for LSU after Mathieu was kicked off the team. Sounds like he has some off field issues otherwise this dude would have been a 3rd or 4th rounder.

So glad we are choosing to over look sheet like this especially for late round guys. Reward is way higher than the risk.

Wish Denarcus Robinson didn't go so early too. Andy did very well with that one if he's right.

DE Alex McCalister is a talented edge rusher. Needs to get stronger to be more than situational player, but has good potential.

Wide 9 absolutely needs pass rushers to succeed. Eagles have 3 good DEs. After that, depth was needed. McCalister helps.

Alex McAlister. Another character concern. Freakish athlete thats very raw. Was dismissed from the team though. Another lottery ticket.

Never understood why teams didn't do this with all 7th round picks. Hope some of these guys realize the opportunity they have in front of them and live up to their potential

Don't know much about a good bit of the players but I believe the picked just about every position we wanted

8 picks total -  1 QB, 2 OL, 1 RB, 2 DB, 1 DE, 1 LB.

Here's all I found on Joe Walker.

Joe Walker, ILB, Oregon
Height: 6-2. Weight: 240.
Projected 40 Time: 4.61.
Projected Round (2016): FA.
4/27/16: In 2015, Walker totaled 87 tackles with six for a loss, two sacks, one interception and a pass broken up. He didn't work out at the combine. 8/24/15: In 2014, Walker totaled 81 tackles, with eight tackles for a loss and a sack. He was a backup in 2013, yet recorded 37 tackles with three tackles for a loss and two sacks. Walker has made some clutch tackles for the Ducks. He flashes quickness and instincts.

This draft was all about getting the franchise QB, 1-2 other starters, and 1-2 roll players. Unfortunately some decent talent was sniped just before the Eagles were on the clock but because of the big trade Howie was without ammo to maneuver. Love the Mills/Mcallister selections and the great @massraider analogy.

Delaware charges dropped against WVU’s Smallwood

WVU running back Wendell Smallwood, who was extradited to Delaware and accused of witness intimidation in a murder case, saw the charges dropped Tuesday.

WILMINGTON, Del. — The Delaware attorney general’s office has dropped its witness intimidation charges against Wendell Smallwood, hours after an acquaintance of the West Virginia running back pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.

Smallwood was arrested in Morgantown earlier this month and extradited to his hometown of Wilmington, where police alleged he attempted to persuade a murder witness to recant her statement tying Zakee Lloyd to the 2012 shooting death of Wilmington resident, Manuel Oliveras, 51.

Lloyd, 22, admitted to the killing on Tuesday morning before the start of jury selection, and prosecutors said Smallwood’s cooperation was pivotal to the conviction.

Jason Miller, spokesman for the Delaware Department of Justice, issued the following statement:

“Since his arrest, Wendell Smallwood has been fully cooperative with the Department of Justice and Wilmington Police Department including giving a full statement regarding his involvement in witness intimidation. He was fully prepared to testify truthfully in the upcoming trial, and his cooperation was instrumental to the State in securing today’s conviction of Zakee Lloyd.

“There is no evidence of Smallwood’s involvement in the murder of Manuel Oliveras.  Moreover, despite the recorded phone call between Smallwood and Lloyd, there is no evidence that it resulted in a threat being conveyed to that witness.  In consideration of all of the facts and circumstances, including Smallwood’s full cooperation with authorities and the conviction of Zakee Lloyd, the State today entered a nolle prosequi on the witness intimidation charge against Wendell Smallwood.”

During Big 12 media days last week, West Virginia coach Dana Holgorsen, who has been mostly silent on the arrest, declined to answer any questions about Smallwood’s capacity to practice with the team while he was out on $40,000 bail. The coach continues to refer to his July 20 school-issued statement, in which he said WVU will “continue to monitor the situation.”

Holgorsen seemingly left the door cracked for Smallwood’s return, considering the player’s name remained on the roster as of Tuesday.

Smallwood is expected to be back for the start of fall camp on Thursday, but it remains to be seen whether Holgorsen will impose a suspension.

Wilmington police claimed that during March and May 2013—when Smallwood was a spring semester early enrollee at WVU—the player made multiple calls to a state witness attempting to persuade her to recant her statements implicating Lloyd in the death of Oliveras.
give me the kids who smoke pot any day over something like this. glad charges were dropped, but certainly is something i would want nothing to do with. Kid better be a special talent to bring on some seemingly troubling character issues
