I think it's 50/50 he cuts Kaep and drafts a QB to mold.I wonder if Chip being in SF might take them out of the running for picking a Qb in the first round.

hah, i forgot about that. Yeah, he is a good guy to bring in.Schwartz gets my vote for DC based on this alone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-acD_VGqcBg
take a step back and try to realize you guys just hired reids assistant and he didnt even get to call the plays. you went from an offense mastermind to the guy that makes coffee for the guy running the most vanilla and un-explosive offense in the entire league. gratz.he's still riding high because his team got one extra game to get their noses slapped and show they had no business in the playoffs.Take Pederson over the wrong Gruden any day of the week.poor eagles have to settle even though they had the head start. gase picks miami, hue wants nothing to do with the roster, and now couglin declines the job after hearing they dont want to resign bradford. at this point it was pederson or begging chip to come back.
The wall that all these pundits have thrown #### at. I imagine Doug doesn't have his mind on which coordinators he's going to hire right now. He's thinking how to attack NE's defense. They'll be time to build a staff.Does Billy Davis need any help boxing up his office? I'm willing to help.
Where are you guys finding info on coordinators?
Josh Huff, Barner, Taylor Hart. Anyone else?So which player(s) / coach(es) does Chip leech and take to San Fran.

Just got the news about Chip couldn't be happier for him, congrats Coach!
this would really bum me out. i have to think Riley Cooper is done with the EaglesKiko alonso
I get the 'going back to the good old days' thing but I draw the line at Childress. Would much rather Shurmur stay OCI'm torn on how I feel with Childress. If it's Peterson calling the plays I'm ok with it and from what I remember Childress didn't do a bad job calling plays when Andy allowed him to. Or am I misremembering?
The impatient nature of being a sports fan must have us all cheering for KC to lose this weekend right?I very much doubt childress is back. I'll wait till they announce Doug as the official coach to hear him tell me who his coordinators are.
hey. I forgot to congratulate you on quarterback shltting the bed once he got on the big stage. Back to the drawing board. You like that?!?take a step back and try to realize you guys just hired reids assistant and he didnt even get to call the plays. you went from an offense mastermind to the guy that makes coffee for the guy running the most vanilla and un-explosive offense in the entire league. gratz.he's still riding high because his team got one extra game to get their noses slapped and show they had no business in the playoffs.Take Pederson over the wrong Gruden any day of the week.poor eagles have to settle even though they had the head start. gase picks miami, hue wants nothing to do with the roster, and now couglin declines the job after hearing they dont want to resign bradford. at this point it was pederson or begging chip to come back.
Better than average chance it happens on its own. I think that Childress was credited with getting Andy to re-focus on the run when he would get too pass-heavy.I'm torn on how I feel with Childress. If it's Peterson calling the plays I'm ok with it and from what I remember Childress didn't do a bad job calling plays when Andy allowed him to. Or am I misremembering?
With Bradford currently not under contract, he's going to gobble up about 18 million of that. Unless that was factored in already.Just saw that we have around 20 million in cap space and could free up around 15 more million.
Hey Junior, remember when you promised us you wouldn't engage the trolls so much?hey. I forgot to congratulate you on quarterback shltting the bed once he got on the big stage. It's a weakness. What can I say. I enjoy pummeling trolls and reminding them that they're idiots. Especially since I think Eagle fans all refrained from being classless and rubbing it in after their ### whooping to Green Bay at home. I donate to the Salvation Army, help old ladies across the street, and love puppies. So I have good qualities too. My weakness is needing to smack trolls across the nose with a rolled up newspaper.Hey Junior, remember when you promised us you wouldn't engage the trolls so much?hey. My guess is the talk of coordinators is premature (as in they haven't hired them yet) or Pederson is having input into who is actually getting hired. I think Lurie is smart enough not to try and hire people who will work for the coach without the coach having input.I like Pederson for you guys. Way better than Coughlin. Young and seems like he's got a good report with players but commands respect.
Is there any concern that seemingly staff is in place/getting set up around him and he won't pick his own Coordinators?
Sounds like somebody needs a hug. Rimez, do you need a hug?take a step back and try to realize you guys just hired reids assistant and he didnt even get to call the plays. you went from an offense mastermind to the guy that makes coffee for the guy running the most vanilla and un-explosive offense in the entire league. gratz.he's still riding high because his team got one extra game to get their noses slapped and show they had no business in the playoffs.Take Pederson over the wrong Gruden any day of the week.poor eagles have to settle even though they had the head start. gase picks miami, hue wants nothing to do with the roster, and now couglin declines the job after hearing they dont want to resign bradford. at this point it was pederson or begging chip to come back.
He may make 18 per but his cap # shouldn't be 18. Especially in the first year. With Bradford currently not under contract, he's going to gobble up about 18 million of that. Unless that was factored in already.Just saw that we have around 20 million in cap space and could free up around 15 more million.
I like how he criticized Kansas City and their offense, while they won their wild card game and have now won 11 straight. While his sorry-### team gets outscored 35-7 after being spotted 11 points early. But I guess their 18 points were imaginative. Bwahahaha Perhaps someone should have made some coffee for Kirk Cousins last week. Maybe he wouldn't have played like he was asleep.Sounds like somebody needs a hug. Depends if we sign him to a long term deal or just franchise him. If we franchise him it's a one year deal and the salary is the cap hit. I am leery of giving Bradford to big/long a contract with his injury history. He may make 18 per but his cap # shouldn't be 18. Especially in the first year. With Bradford currently not under contract, he's going to gobble up about 18 million of that. Unless that was factored in already.Just saw that we have around 20 million in cap space and could free up around 15 more million.
Saw someone ask Reuben this yesterday and he said with the nature of the CBA and no 2-a-days, that it would be unlikely.Any chance they move training camp back to Lehigh Valley now that Chip's gone ( I know that was his thing, right?). That'd be awesome - used to head up there in the summer.
That's the trick. A long term deal will leave the cap number moderately small at first. Franchise just puts it all in one year.He may make 18 per but his cap # shouldn't be 18. Especially in the first year. With Bradford currently not under contract, he's going to gobble up about 18 million of that. Unless that was factored in already.Just saw that we have around 20 million in cap space and could free up around 15 more million.
They probably make money from merch and concessions during the two "free admission" training camp days at The Linc. Plus all the money and state-of-the-art training equipment they invested in the Nova Care facility. So I think it's unlikely (and probably not even Pederson's call; I get the feeling he's going to be a "company" man.)Saw someone ask Reuben this yesterday and he said with the nature of the CBA and no 2-a-days, that it would be unlikely.Any chance they move training camp back to Lehigh Valley now that Chip's gone ( I know that was his thing, right?). Would surely be the best way for Pederson to win the fans over right away though so you never know.
It was already becoming more common across the league not to go away anyway. and with the facilities that they have now in the city, it kind of makes sense to use them.Saw someone ask Reuben this yesterday and he said with the nature of the CBA and no 2-a-days, that it would be unlikely.Any chance they move training camp back to Lehigh Valley now that Chip's gone ( I know that was his thing, right?). From over a year ago:Anyone know if KC uses a FB? I'm also curious if it will be Doug who calls the plays or the OC
Peterson knows this town well enough to know that he needs Bradford more than Bradford needs him. If Peterson doesn't AT LEAST win the same amount of games that Chip did this past year, this town will have his head on a swivel. Eagle fans, and the horrible WIP station, would never get behind a rebuild. If the Eagles roll out Sanchez or Hoyer or Daniels or some other free agent because they were cheap, Peterson gets one, maybe two years, tops.i think the only thing that would make me disappointed is if they signed Bradford to a long, expensive contract. everything i am reading makes it sound like money will be a big push for him, but i really don't want to lock in long-term money on him at this point. I think franchising makes sense, but you really hurt your ability to make any other adjustments or moves this off-season. could leave us with Bradford for a 1-year assessment and a crappy OL that will never let us see what Bradford can do.
but here is another option that i know was mentioned in here before, that i would like to see:
Chase DanielAssuming Bradford is gone, the Eagles are going to need a new veteran. And wouldn't it be funny if Doug Pederson signed his own version of Doug Pederson? That player would be none other than current Chiefs backup quarterback Chase Daniel. The 29-year-old Daniel is scheduled to be a free agent after the season. Pederson could sell Daniel on the idea of getting a chance to be the starter in Philadelphia.
Don't get me wrong: I'm not saying Daniel is likely the Eagles' next franchise quarterback. Through six NFL seasons, he's only started two games. He's completed 64.9% of his passes for 464 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and a 80.2 rating. The appeal is that he's an inexpensive placeholder who is familiar with Pederson's offense. In the best case scenario, he wins the Eagles' quarterback job and proves to be good starter. In the most realistic scenario, he starts some games and allows the team to groom a young quarterback behind him, similar to how Pederson started over Donovan McNabb in 1999.
It all depends on what Doug thinks, but if he worked with him for a bit and thinks he can be a good piece for a few years while we look for a long-term option, i am ok with that
we are giving the Sixers the benefit of the doubt, and their turnaround is much longer, I don't think you need to do a complete rebuild, but if you invest money in OL, get a better WR coach who can work with players to catch the ball, and work out some of the other building pieces people will in. I think if they try to do the "same old" Bradford will be hurt by week 4 or 5 and it will be a mess anyway. I think the team is very fixable, but they need to be smart about it too. Key is Peterson needs to be more open with the media and fans and explain that it will take some time for him to implement his coaching style, and maybe offense, for this team.Peterson knows this town well enough to know that he needs Bradford more than Bradford needs him. Nope, definitely not. We won't really know until KC is out and Pederson (I really wish I could type DP for short but I just can't bring myself to do it) picks/helps picks his guys.Has it been confirmed that Shurmur will get to stay as the OC?
Thanks. I hope Doug does the same and brings in a FB. That would really help Murray and the ground game a tonroarlions said:From over a year ago:Bigboy10182000 said:Anyone know if KC uses a FB? I'm also curious if it will be Doug who calls the plays or the OC

I think that the difference, though, is that the Sixers probably are 4th in the city in terms of core fan base, Eagles are more important to people than the other 3 teams combined. Plus it seems like most people are strongly against the hire (at least the vocal ones on the radio), so any perceived failure is going to get immediately blasted.we are giving the Sixers the benefit of the doubt, and their turnaround is much longer, I don't think you need to do a complete rebuild, but if you invest money in OL, get a better WR coach who can work with players to catch the ball, and work out some of the other building pieces people will in. ETA: lol. I have to not write so quick and actually look at what i type. I happened to look at the first "sentence" and I don't think i could have tried to cram another comma in there if i tried.
Again, Goff won't fall to us. To take another QB reach and hope we can groom him to a starter would be a disaster. If you think fans are mad now, imagine if we draft a 1st round QB, let Sam walk, and win 5 games. The hating on him bandwagon was for the short-sighted. There is no imaginable way that keeping Sam isn't going to make our team better next year. We have way bigger needs in round 1.I would have no problem picking a QB in the first round if one of the prospects grades out as justifiable. Signing Daniels as a stop gap. Use money saved on Bradford to build elsewhere.
