So if we go 8-8 you'll finally admit signing Sam was a good move?  Or will your expectations change and you'll say that those wins weren't because of Sam?  I'm going to guess B.

I expect 7 or 8 wins but optimistically am thinking 8 or 9.

All depends on how Sam plays. If we're scoring less than 20 ppg on offense but the defense is playing incredible, is that really Sam that is playing good? Same if Sam's throwing 3 TDs a game for 500 yds and the defense let's up 30 a game. Not really his fault then. You know it will depend on how we play.

All depends on how Sam plays. If we're scoring less than 20 ppg on offense but the defense is playing incredible, is that really Sam that is playing good? Same if Sam's throwing 3 TDs a game for 500 yds and the defense let's up 30 a game. Not really his fault then. You know it will depend on how we play.

you went off yesterday about how it all depends on win numbers, and now you're saying it depends on how he plays?  Incredible.

So if we win 5 games, then you don't want to hear excuses about how the team was the issue as it's on Sam to win games.
But if we win 10 games, THEN we'll look at how Sam's playing and if he's the reason we were successful. 

You sure are paving the road for a pretty big Anti-Sam campaign this fall.

3tds and 500 yards is top 10 qb.  We didn't pay top 10 qb money.  2 and 250 is good for being paid as the 14th best qb.

One thing I will say though even though its 2 years I don't want to hear any whining about how Sam doesn't have any talent around him coming into this year. If we start losing games and he's playing his average self I don't want to hear Sam just needs to get a couple more pieces around him or Sam needs to have a little more protection or Sam just needs some time to get adjusted to the system.

He's one of eleven dude.  I know you're trying to get out in front of things but just cause he's making money doesn't make everyone else better.  Same with our D, what our MLB makes doesn't make our DL or DB's play better

I expect 8 wins.  As bad as Chip and Bily were and as down as the players were that equals at LEAST one more win. I wouldn't be shocked if we won 10 to be honest with you.

But that doesn't fit his agenda.  It's all on Sam now because he is being paid like an average NFL starter and no other changes were made to the team.

I'm hoping now that this deal is done, we go after signing Cox and grabbing Mario.  Maybe take a shot at Colston for cheap?  Then sign Chase and cut Sanchez.  Draft heavy on OL.  I think a team like that very well could win 9-10 games if it gelled.

We better all F'ing know that Sam isn't a system/ talent proof QB. If we don't I'm leaving lol. 

We still have no clue how our best WR even fits into this team. There's a lot to figure out and unless Calvin Johnson comes here Sam's weapons are an effing issue.

Don't like Sam. I've been pretty consistent on that. If we're winning though and he's a big reason for it, then I'll be on board. 

The season is always game to game. If we said we'd go 7-9 before last year, Wed all have been pissed off before the season buy when we were still in it at 4-7, we rooted for the playoffs. Situations dictate reactions.

 
The wco is pretty QB friendly. I expect the WR's and QB to both elevate their game. 9 wins is entirely possible.

Not to mention what should be a rested D. Maybe I'm too optimistic, I don't know. A LOT went wrong last season and we missed the playoffs by a game. I'm thinking if we just nix the coaching crap and players quiting that's good for at least 1 or maybe 2 wins. Our division, no offense to anyone else, still seems up for grabs.

We know you don't like him (besides a few weeks ago when you wanted to franchise him or when you made the thread title "i love sam" haha).

All I'm hoping for is you give him a fair shot and make your expectations that he's a SLIGHTLY above average QB (what he's being paid as), and don't go off all season whenever we lose or he has a bad game or bad throw, about how bad this deal was for us.  And that if you're going to say some of the wins are on the team and not him, then be ready to admit that some of the losses are on the team and not him then.  Wanting 500 and 3, or top 10 performance is not realistic and is only setting yourself up for disappointment and annoying posts.  Be cautious on him, sure, but this deal is safe for us and like bigboy said, he is far from a system/talent proof qb. 

If you give me your shipping address I'll even send you a Bradford jersey on me if you agree to throw away the Foles one. 

 
I love the deal.  Like someone mentioned earlier, we signed him to a two year franchise tag at below market value. And he's making 2 million less than Cousins.  Howie is actually having a very strong offseason. And I'm not a Howie fan.

The deal is good. Very good. The 2 years is huge. Just don't believe in the player. Hopefully he shows something.

Didn't really think anyone could argue against this deal and that it would finally get deamon and Insein to #### and make up.  Looks like that's not really happening.      

There weren't any great options in my opinion, but this is by far the least bad option.  Gives them flexibility and actually a chance that they pay him a little less than his true value plus more show me time to see if he could be the long term answer.  Given their draft position and the lack of any other veteran options, this is a good outcome.

Eagles had $29m before the deal. Will have to see how they structured it. Not sure if it would be better to front load it or push it off.

As far as 13 goes....just go the BPA not at a skill position. If there's not a legit fit for the team....(much to the dismay of the fan base)trade back. 

 
I can undersand why not a RB, even though I'd pick Elliot in a heartbeat at 13 but why not a WR? 

I have major concerns with Mathews and Aghlor as starters. Matthews by all accounts seemed like a guy everyone considered just a slot guy. If he can't be an outside guy our WR's would just look awful. You have to hope Ertz not only stays healthy but has a huge break out year. 

Also, If we're hoping Murray has a resurgence we need a guy that defenses fear deep. Right now, we have no one that's a threat from 50

I won't be mad at any OL but I can't talk myself out of not going after some speed. If we got Coleman I would be ecstatic. 

 
I wonder if they ask Sanchez for paycut.  Don't know if they could afford his 4.5 million. Pretty scary to go into the season with pretty much just Bradford with his injury history.

Bradford is awful! At least I know how bad our franchise is. He gives you some false sense of hope, but he is what he is, an injury prone waste who is mediocre at best when healthy.

 
Bradford threw for 3750 with poor WR play and a terrible Oline. Mcnabb threw for that in his best years with good WR play and a stud Oline. Saying Bradford is awful is just wrong. He did quite well all things considered.

Different eras. Mcnabbs best year was 2004 where he had 3875 yds 31-8. His ypg was ranked 5th best. He finished 4th in passer rating with 104.7. There were only 5 QBs that had more than 4000 yards. 

2015 had 12, 4000 yd passers. Bradfords ypg was good enough for 11th. He finished with 3750-19-14. His passer rating was 86.4 good enough for 25th.

Rodgers, Brees, Brady, Cam, Wilson, Palmer, Luck, EManning, Romo, Dalton, Carr, Rivers, Bridgewater, Cutler, Bortles, Smith, Stafford, Fitzpatrick, Cousins, Winston, Mariota, Flacco, Ryan, Taylor, Tannehill

I've voiced my opinions of this guy earlier in this thread and previously in the Rams thread. Guy accused me of fishing, just listing him off as a bottom 6 or 7 QB (and that doesn't take into account unknowns, who I didn't list, but would still take over him). As an overall number 1 pick and a gigantic bust, the criticism is gonna flow :shrug:  

I hate the Giants/Cowboys/Skins, so I like it when Philly is good, this guy is just a curse on a franchise.

If these numbers are accurate most won't understand how great of a coup by Howie.
