so you come in here a week after we played your team, to try to spark something when there was no ref comments at all in the game thread? Pretty sad attempt here.

actually there were some ref comments in the game thread. Eagles got away with an obvious penalty on Burkhead in the first drive. The few of us in there at the time were all surprised, and for me i got to feel what it's like to be a Cowpokes or Packers fan every single week

I think we maybe win one more. Stat line looks like Turner could be a player which hopefully is a good find. I'm just glad Bradford is gone and Wentz will have a year under his belt and we can add some weapons . Maybe Crooks and through the draft.

They obviously need more talent at the WR position. But if they do get a clear #1, imagine what it opens up for everyone else. Clearly need a deep threat and big play maker. So I guess they could try to fill that role w/ Desean again but a more complete receiver would be ideal. Then you have Matthews in the slot against a nickle back. Agholor against a teams #2 in single coverage. More room underneath for Ertz. Maybe its wishful thinking but I have hope.

His mechanics or something is off. Ever since Detroit hit him, he seems a little giddy in the pocket. Obviously to be expected some for a rookie QB but careers have also ended bc QBs couldn't settle down.
His decision making is good and not sure how much he does at the line but I do find it a bit troubling that our franchise QB struggles with the most important part of the job, throwing the ball.
Offense isn't doing him any favors and rookie QB / coach learning on the fly. Teams seemed to have figured both out for now but it's a league of adjustments. Will be interesting to see how he does with a real WR because sometimes it seems like he is set on checking down before the play even happens.
Agree, but what else do we have? DGB got hurt today. If he and Matthews miss next week, we're rolling out Turner/Aghalor/Treggs as our 3 starters which will go down in history as the worst WR corps starting in a game in NFL history.
I think his focus will be on Cooks. Talented, fast, and more importantly, would be one more 'F U" to Chip who coveted him.

I was kind of surprised (for some reason) at the end when I saw that he had 60 attempts.
i think the broadcast group mentioned it was the first time Cincy did this in 117 games

You see the Ertz block? I don't doubt that some have quit but it's more of a reflection of them as people than the coach. If this was true (I don't believe it is) that would mean we have a certain set of guys who quit on a coach in back to back years. We need to part ways with them. Honestly, Ertz should be benched after that block IMO.

That's a reflection of the coach. No way you can put any rookie in that situation.
33 were in the 4th though like you said. And playing from behind. 27 in the first 3 quarters isn't that much.

I do think Wentz will be a franchise QB but he does have some work to do.
Reviewing how our season has gone I know it's easy to put blame on WR's and CB's. Without question we need some help there.
I can't help but think that the main reason why we struggle on offense is because we don't have a good blocking TE.
The WR's haven't helped here either, but man if we had Celek in his prime I think this offense is way better. Ertz plays too soft. Hell this entire offense plays soft.
Play calling, I really liked this offense with it's power formations. I had thought Doug would progress into run heavy / play action pass type offense.
IMO Wentz needs the extra time that play action provides. We also need the play action to help our WR get separation.
IMO this offense seems vanilla.
Defense I say WTF. I guess the idea of Schwartz getting a HC job isn't going to happen. Carroll looks lost.
The bottom line is the league adjusted well to the current Eagles. I still like Doug and the coaching staff and I am eager to see what happens this offseason.

The early season success makes all this losing sting even more. I never really believed they would do anything this season but not excited to watch these last few games. They are hard to watch imo. With the lack of weapons on offense and the #### secondary we can't score and can't get off the field.

I guess that I don't want to be too down on doug and the team given that it is year 1, but it is not easy to find a lot of positives right now. Need fix carsons mechanics, defense is regressing, wr and cb are just terrible, not committing to the run, Doug maybe having some issues keeping guys motivated and dealing with the overall complexity of the job. Things will get better, just look really bleak at the moment.
on the plus side, Carson clearly has the maturity and poise to be the guy and vaitai could be a real player. Smallwood and semuolo also may be useful, so hopefully this turns into a productive draft class.
