***Official 2017 NCAA Hoops Tourney thread: Congrats UNC, all the refs from NCCG should be banned for life*** (1 Viewer)

Make sense to fear the payback foul call >>> the desperation 3
Just that wide  open lane there bothered me.

more pissed on the extra possession in regulation time they got...never have seen that.

Was during U.K.-UCLA so nobody else was watching. Made basket was bouncing for Florida and a foul called under the basket while UF also had a guy pull in the net.  They counted the basket...and gave Florida the ball too.  Never have seen that.

They missed Gak on the interference for sure, but other than that I think it was right since the foul underneath was when the ball was in the air.

Of course I would think it was right.

Never seen a basket count and getting be possession too though.

All doesn't matter if Oberson just goes strong rather than getting blocked by the guy who shoots underhanded free throws

I really like Mike White, but I hope he learned something from the end of regulation tonight. If Chiozza doesn't bail him out he would be getting roasted tomorrow.

Make a free throw or 10 and you're up 7 or 8 at that point.

Helluva run for Wisconsin They're losing a lot next year but have some nice talent coming in. They'll make another deep run in 2 years or so

It happens. Foul away from the ball (usually trying to get rebounding position) after the shot leaves the shooter's hand

That drives me crazy at this level...the amount of free throws missed...can't stand that.

I don't think Iverson realized he was there until it was too late

You would think, but Billy Donovan did it over and over again including several losses in the elite eight (in the years just before the final four team that lost to UConn).  The only complaint I ever had about Billy D.

White did at least address not fouling on the last possession of regulation, so I don't think we'll see that again.

Indiana fired Tom Crean to get Archie Miller.  Okay then.
Miller's been really good with Dayton.  Recruited some good players and had them consistently good.  Was a little surprised he didn't take the NC State job, but this will probably work well I think.  The Xavier/Dayton coaching pipeline lives on.

I guess.  Maybe it's just my perception of Dayton but feels like they are good not great for a mid-major.  For example, Chris Mack seems like a way better coach to me.  Maybe I just have a higher opinion of Crean than most.

They've won 25.5 games per year the past 4 years, made the tourney all 4 years, with an Elite 8 berth and 4 total tourney wins.  It may be fair to say that they are not "great", but definitely very good and he's done good work with some short benches at times.  Perennial favorite in the A-10 with VCU now.

Mack probably is better, but I don't think way better.

Not necessarily.
On paper, I'm more confident than I was about the WV game. Xavier has been shooting 5% higher at 3 point range in the tourney than their season average and the Zags defense should be more than enough to eliminate that.

In reality, I wonder how playing another tough game two days after the incredibly physical hack fest will be. I can see them coming out sloppy which isnt good against a hot team.

I will be tubing on Kauai during the game so I'll be missing it.

Seems like it was a good night to be dead-### tired and pass out around 10:30, eh?

And is In The Zone jacking off at Waffle House now?
Nah, I've already hit Costco and the Chef Store today and am getting ready to go back and forth on the TV between Alabama/SC baseball and the Lady Gamecocks vs Quinipiac in the Women's Sweet 16. I'm all jacked out until tomorrow.

My undergrad alma mater Northwest Missouri State going for the Division II Natty same season Exacta today.

They already won the Division II  National Championship in Football this past season and went undeated in the process (15-0).  Today they are going for the Division II title in BBall vs. Fairmont.  NWMoSt is 34-1 and has been #1 most all season until right before the tourney, when Fairmont  (34-2) moved into the top spot.

Northwest is looking to join Division I Florida as the only school to win a football and basketball title in the same school year

Been watching this game. They have some really good players. Good luck!

GO BEARCATS!!!!

Lots of Northwest people here, the Northwest/Pitt State football game-week is SERIOUS BUSINESS.  Bummed they weren't able to keep the game at Arrowhead - thought that was a great moment for the players and a great day in the city.
