*** Official 2017 NFL Draft Thread *** Bears pay a steep price for their franchise QB (2 Viewers)

Is this correct, John Fox has never met Trubisky???
According to PFT:

Report: Bears G.M. didn’t tell his coach about plans to draft Mitch Trubisky

If you thought you were surprised by the Bears trading up to take Mitch Trubisky, imagine how coach John Fox felt.

According to Chris Mortensen of ESPN, Bears General Manager Ryan Pace kept the plan to move up to select the North Carolina quarterback to himself until hours before the draft.

While that’s one way to prevent leaks, it might not be the best thing to foster trust between a young G.M. and a veteran coach.

And considering Fox’s previous shenanigans with rookie quarterbacks (he once signed journeyman Brian St. Pierre off the street and started him that week rather than play rookie Tony Pike), not keeping him in the loop on the decision to make a bold move might be the best for everyone.

For the moment, Fox has a veteran in Mike Glennon he can play while Trubisky develops for the future.

And now it’s reasonable to wonder whether Fox will be in that future, if he wasn’t involved in the decision to draft Trubisky at all

Holy crap. It's like they're jealous of the Browns, saw them NOT screw up the #1 pick, and swooped in to take the crown of CLUSTERF#$K CHAMPIONS.

I love how Jaws tries to warm up the crowd who is booing, then Godell comes back to the podium and boos loudly resume.
At this point in time he should be milking the boos. Make it part of his persona since it isn't going to go away. Be the pro wrestling heel.

According to Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline, the Los Angeles Chargers and New York Jets are each trying to trade up to take Cal QB Davis Webb.
This report lines up closely with ESPN's Adam Schefter dispatch from earlier in the day that the Chargers and Jets -- in addition to the Bucs -- have talked to the Packers about moving up to acquire the No. 33 overall pick. Pauline additionally reports that the four teams picking behind Green Bay -- the Seahawks, Jags, Bears and Rams -- are also open to moving down the board.

He's on borrowed time. It's not that they want him gone. They are not yet at the stage where they need to fire him. Of course, they should have never hired him.
You are pretty much saying "#### off" by trading up to take a QB at 2 without consulting the coach.

Robinson wouldn't have waited long if he stuck around. Another problem with only having one round the 1st night.
ETA- McDowell another who bailed.

Surprised the Seahawks didn't want Cam or Lamp considering their O'line issues.
