*Official 2017 Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles* - Parade of Champions Down Broad Street! (3 Viewers)

Ive always had a lot of  respect for the great Eagles teams of the early 90s Jerome Brown ,Reggie ,Randall Cunningham , etc..gave my Giants fits!! possibly the greatest team to never win a sb. they were just incredible..so were some of the Saints teams with Hebert and Swilling and Montclair State's own Sam Mills..The thing that bothers me about this current Eagles' team is the coaching and in particular Doug Pederson..he comes from the  Andy Reid tree of inept coaching..with all the chips on the table is he going to choke it away like Reid always does??  thats the important question. the Rams have experienced SB winning coaches..and I  wonder if Eagles are  just front-runners ..they have 2 games v. dallas ,at seattle , at rams, host oakland ,chicago, giants etc..theyre likely to lose 4 or 5 more games..shades of 2016's massive collapse.. theyve played some easy games against some really bad teams. struggled to beat nyg and sd and carolina among others..they blew out a hapless denver team. who hasnt dome that to denver??? dallas nyg and eagles have spanked Denver..i feel like the eagles are the Andy Reid Chiefs of the East..good at the start but teams catch up with what theyre doing with the cutesie 76 pre snap shifts and bubble screen looks and other gimmicks..

we'll see how it goes ..theyre likely to finish 10-6 or 11-5 at best..#2 seed...just cant see them winning the remainder of their games
Ummm, Dallas lost to Denver 42-17. Otherwise, nice rant?

hmm, you guys have talked me into it. taste test this weekend. Small one from each. will report back. for the record my wife hates Delasandro's too. i can't remember it

Geno’s and Pat’s aren’t bad at all. They’re good too just more touristy, if that makes sense.

There’s so many places that make a good cheesesteak
Where was all this info before I came to Philly?  haha.

I did hit up 4 places in the few days I was there.  Had to do Geno's and Pat's just to say I did it once (I preferred Pats actually).  Also his up Sonny's which a bunch of people in the area raved about but I didn't love it.  Have to say Jim's was my favourite by a long shot.

Struggled against Carolina??? You realize they went down there and beat a 6-3 team on a Thursday and won despite an epic screw over by the refs. Had it not been for Crooked Pete Morelli, it would've been a blowout. And Denver ANNIHLATED the Cowboys, not the other way around sunshine. I get you're not a having a fun year with the Giants and all but come on man, at least get your facts straight.

The Mexican food down here is phenomenal if you enjoy that cuisine. Have two joints two blocks from my house that are slightly different but phenomenal! Los Gallos and Frida's Cantina. The first is a BYOB with a huge traditional menu and the second has a smaller menu selection but the best tacos I've ever had and has a full bar.

Toolio is a Giants fan?  Bwahahahaha  That explains everything. Hope this guy doesn't jump off the Brooklyn bridge before the year is over.

Ah, the old "you were incredible in the 90's, and you think you're all that now, but your team really sucks" post.

If you were really honest, you would have said "here's what I wish would happen the rest of the season"

And others have pointed out that Dallas was blown out by Denver, and that the Carolina game was actually more impressive than you portray, but who are all these SB winning coaches on the Rams? McVay has never been to a Super Bowl (actually has never been on a team that won a playoff game), and Matt Lefleur was a quarterbacks coach for the Falcons who lost in the Super Bowl last year. Yes, Wade Phillips was defensive coordinator for the Broncos in 2015 that won the Super Bowl, but he has had plenty of great defenses that never got close to the Super Bowl. For the Eagles, both Reich and Schwartz have coached on teams that went to the Super Bowl. Reich was on the staff of the Colts that won in 2006 and lost in 2009. Schwartz was on the staff of the 1999 Titans that lost in the Super Bowl.

So if you're going to troll, do a better job of it. You're just embarrassing yourself.

Pierogie kitchen a few blocks from there too. if any of you are in that area and see some dude walking 2 bigger dogs, or with a 4-month old, feel free to say hi  :brush:
I used to live on Rector Street for about 9 years (right around corner from the cheesesteak places and the Pierogie kitchen).  In all my years there, it felt like the pierogie place was hardly ever open.  I ordered once from there and felt that the pierogies were way over priced.

I have to admit that I haven't had a regular cheesesteak in years (quit red meat about 6 years ago).  However, I do love the chicken cheesesteak from Dalessandro's.  And I remember also loving the regular cheesesteak when I ate it many years ago.  I was not impressed with Chubby's but that was also 6-7 years ago

A Wentz vs Goff NFC Championship game would be kind of fun.  I wonder if two second year QBs have ever taken their teams that far in the same year.

Brunell and Collins were both in their 2nd years starting in 1996 when they both went to their conference championship games (and lost). Brunell was actually in his 3rd season as he was a back-up in Green Bay for a year before Jacksonville got him as their starter.

Awesome.  Nice job hunting that fact down.

First one that came to my mind.

Its cool to hate on Geno's and Pat's, but I've been going to both since as long as I can remember, and have never gotten a bad steak. I also like seeing and talking to the tourists. I can't count the number of pics I've taken for them if front of the shops. I like doing it so tourists walk away with a nice impression and to counteract some of the negative press we get.

The best are always the one in your neighbor that you grew up with. My all time favorite in Southwest Philly just closed last month. Went back on the last day and saw so many old friends waiting in line. It was like a reunion.

@Kwai Chang Caine- please provide a list. Its been a long time since going to eat down there. Thanks.

This team is better because of that collapse (maturity). Also, you fail to mention Lane Johnson's suspension which was the main catalyst of the last year's downfall.

Last year's team  didn't have this stable of running backs. Last week they run more than they passed and I expect it to remain close to 50/50 going forward. They also didn't have the receivers they do now.  Defenses are going to have to respect both the run and pass. Especially since Wentz has a year under his belt.

The Defensive front 7 is one of the best in football and they are now veterans of Schwartz' scheme.

Finally, I think Pederson isn't as stubborn as Andy and will adjust his game according to what is and what isn't working. That's something Andy still hasn't learned.

I agree I don't know why people hate either place. Maybe because it's like the cool thing to do like metal fans hating Nickelback for dumb reason. I hate the band but I just think the Lead guy is a huge D bag with an entitlement issue and all their music sounds the same. Plus I'm a huge Corey Taylor fan and how the Kroager came off it sounded really more like jealousy then anything else. The thing about NB though is even Canadian music fans I talk too hate them.

Either way I don't mind either place to eat. It just seems like the cool thing to hate as they are tourist attractions. I know it's not the most popular opinion to say they are good but by no means am I saying they are amazing. I really do love me some DaNick's roastbeef though with Provy on it and some peppers. Love going to the Reading Terminal to get one every year after doing the auto show

I don't think the Eagles will win the rest of their games either. But to finish 10 and 6, they would have to be 2 - 5 from here out. Only way that would happen is if Wentz was injured. I'm thinking they finish 13-3.

Also, lol at saying they're successful because of cutesy gimmicks. They have the best defense in football right now. And with the exception of possibly Brady, the best quarterback play in football. Nothing gimmicky about that. Will the rest of the league catch up? They always do. There are 31 other teams full of professionals and great coaches. Oh, and by the way, to say who else hasn't blown out Denver? No one had ever put up 300 yards against them this season. The Eagles put up more than 400. Must have been a gimmick. LOL
Den hadn't given up 50 pts since I believe 2013 or even longer if I'm correct and non of those pts were scored by the D or Special teams TDs either. All offense against their Defense.

yeah, i go to a few others, but 2:30 a.m. with buds from out of town, Pats and Geno's are money. for me, Geno's is better
That's what makes it awesome though. They are one of the few places open that late after you go out. I've gone with my Brother and his friend when we've gone out especially to a concert or something as my brothers friend and I are into a lot of the same music. My one buddy from HS I hang with sometimes went to FSU and has friends from down there come stay here every now and then. iI've hung out with them a few times and Pats and Geno's is definitely money that time of night. Unfortunately there's no great cheesesteak sandwhiches in the suburbs near me I'd want to go to that late at night but the Wawa usually does the same trick anyway.

Speaking of the Giants That Ben McAdoo is sounding more like Chip Kelly by the day. Does this sound like the final days of Kelly or what?

"The latest news to emerge involves Giants players going to an ESPN reporter — unsolicited — to rip their head coach. Here’s what Josina Anderson had to say.

There was a Giants players, who wishes to remain anonymous, who reached out to me and said this unsolicited at the time, this being last week. Saying:

‘McAdoo has lost this team. He’s got us going 80% on Saturdays before we get on a plane to to play a game. It’s wild. Changed our off day. He’s dishing out fines like crazy. Suspended two of our stars when we need them the most. Throws us under the bus all the time. He’s run us into the ground and people wonder why we’ve been getting got.’

And I also heard from another Giants player, unsolicited, that:

‘Guys are giving up on the season and nothing’s being done. Guys just don’t care anymore.’

They're by far the most hated band in Canadian history.  Anyone who listens to them up here is instantly shamed for life.

It's going to be nice to have a relaxing, stress free Sunday.  I think I'm going to enjoy this week off as much as the players.  Sit back, check fantasy stuff, enjoy watching other games.  Ya... gonna be nice.

I purposely chose this coming Sunday to have my 3rd child's christening. Wife still didn't notice Eagles aren't playing this week.

You make a good point about interacting with the tourists. That's classy dude.

My top reccomendatios for fine Italian are Langolo (15th and Porter) and Tre Scalini on Passyunk. You'll have to make reservations for both. If you go to Langolo, ask for the artichoke appetizer. It's not always on the menu but they'll do it for you. It's divine! I've also had a good veal chop at Pesto on Broad.

Steven Star restaurants are very expensive but generally worth it. My favorite by far is Butcher and Singer on Walnut near Broad west side. I go there for either my birthday or Father's Day. Top notch streak. I once ordered a special bone-in filte minon and it was the best steak I've ever eaten. For $65 it had to be. Something I'd order maybe once in a decade! They also have baked Alaska for dessert which is just over the top!

The Dandylion is another Star joint that serves English fare. Top notch fish and chips and although I've never had it, the serve a pot roast on Sunday that's supposed to be top notch.

Shark move is to leave her thinking they are playing. Promise her you won't even be checking your phone because you are 100% into the christening.

My son's in the school play and there's 4 performances, including Sunday. I don't know who or how they decided on the Eagles bye week, but it almost makes it worth the price of tuition!

Eagles signed DT Timmy Jernigan to a 4-year extension, $48 million extension that includes $26 million fully guaranteed, per source. Here he is:

Yeah I found it funny when I heard a Canadian Police Department for criminals were going to play NB in the car continually as a form of punishment. They all got upset and the Department had to issue an apology. I know people who've met the lead singer and he's an absolute DBag but the rest of the guys I've heard are really cool. I listened to them my younger yrs but then I grew up.

Three good ones.  We’re also fans of Scannichio’s, having quite a few family dinners/celebrations there, good stuff.

On a more casual note, ever eat at Stogey Joe’s on Passyunk?? Probably the best stromboli I’ve ever had, and I’ve had quite a few.

And if any of you haven’t had a Phil’s steak at 22nd and Passyunk then you ain’t living.

i really think it didn't make any difference if Zeke played or not when they play the Cowboys. Give Doug 2 weeks to gameplan, and i think they would have had it covered.

and sounds like Richard Sherman thinks he tore his achilles. Seattle down to 1 starter in secondary so not all that worried about them. Especially seeing their OL, i don't know how a team that competitive has so many issues on their offensive line for multiple years

It makes it easier.  Which is ok by me

Yeah they got Matt Tobin at LT right now. They are down to Jeremy Lane at CB and Kam at SS. Early Thomas nursing a Hammy. Lane was part of the Brown trade but sent back do to failed physical

Ya with no Zeke and no Sherman, that really makes our path easier (not celebrating the injury at all, just stating the fact).  Dallas is the team that scares me the most come playoff time so I'm really hoping they pile up some losses and don't even make it in.  Saints are the only team that are concerning.
