***Official*** 2018 World Cup thread (and Drinking Guide) (3 Viewers)

I'm afraid the 48 team WC format is going to make negative tactics more commonplace, especially early in the abbreviated three-team, two-game group stage.  A draw in the first match isn't a terrible result but a loss almost kills a team's chances to advance.

The world has had some really dumb ideas over the years.  But a 3-team group stage in the World Cup has to be in the top-10.

there might be no draws in the 48 team group stage.

Iran completed 55.5% of its passes today, the lowest percentage by a winning team in a #WorldCup match dating back to 1966, and the 2nd-lowest percentage by any team in a World Cup match in that span

Before I bow out prior to Portugal-Spain, I need some advice for tonight. I have limited time and want to watch the aforementioned Portugal game in its entirety. Would I be ok just watching the second halves of today's other two games? I already know the results but I'd still like to see some of them.

First half of Iran-Morocco was marginally better
