A 9 is a pure target striker meant to press the center backs. A false 9 is a guy who's at the position on the lineup sheet but is really just an attacking midfielder who doesn't engage the center backs unless he has the ball.

The first 15-20 minutes were all France. In fact, initial possession was 70/30 France. No idea how it ended so skewed for Argentina at half.
