***OFFICIAL*** 2019 Cakeleeg - Standings update? (1 Viewer)

I really wanted Bauer. I'd already have the most unpopular team clinched (with Harper and Machado)

Hope Nola would drop otherwise.

Rhys was not even on my radar.
Bauer is a special kind of asssssshole.  A recent article summed it up by saying if he weren't playing baseball, he'd be a 4chan incel dweller.

3.15 Starling Marte OF

4.01 Lorenzo Cain OF

Surprised Marte fell this far. Was hoping to pair him with Severino. Picked Cain because each team needs 5 OFer's, and with 15 teams in the league now there wll be 75 OFer's starting for our  teams. I want to make sure I have 5 everyday players and that I'm not stuck with bench or platoon players.
I don't trust Marte as a early 3rd round pick where he's going.  He's injury-prone, he is not a great OBP play, and I don't think you can count on him being elite in anything.  His ISO last year was 30 points above his average and he hit 20 homers in 145 games (career high), so even if he plays 145 games this year 20 homers seems like a stretch.  I think he's about LoCain II, Electric Boogaloo (Cain a better OBP play)and you took Cain a bit early.  So it all probably balances out but I don't think Marte is any kind of steal...no pun intended.

I won't be drafting any Marte this year.

Let's do this

4.06 Yasiel Puig    OF    CIN
I was really struggling between Puig and Muehler, but convinced myself Puig had the better chance of making it back to me (lol one pick).I think he'll do well for you. Or get caught masturbating the Field Manager's cat.

One-legged man makes two bad picks.

Last year I drafted Dee Gordon with the thought that he would get ton of steals and then I put steals on the backburner. Well, when Gordon wasnt on the DL he wasnt running as much eithet. I got lucky  with a couple of free agent pickups, but I didnt want to go through that again. So I decided to spread the steals around this year. Between Blackmon, Marte and Cain i should get around 90 steals, which is a good foundation. And I'm not  counting on one of those one category guys who only hit 3 HRs or have an OBP around .300 or both. i figure Marte and Cain should have HR totals in the teens and they both should be solid in RBI and runs. Npw I just need to draft guys with solid HR numbers.

Steals used to be cheap, now homers are.  It's the evolution of baseball and I'm not really sure I like it.

I like getting steals early (I took Turner in round 1) so I don't want to disparage your strategy.  All three of those guys are pretty safe bets to be good five cat contributors, with Blackmon being a good source of power, too.  Lo Cain plays in Milwaukee so 20 HRs is not out of the question and he's gonna .350 OBP at worst. All three are good runs sources too, and I think many people overlook runs.

My team sucks, I quit.

4.05 George Springer OF HOU

let's not put wrong players in the Google sheet please.  This group doesn't need any more obstacles.
at least my cheat sheet seems legit.  i debated with tre pham or springer.  i took the steals and obp over the hrs and rbis, felt i could get those later.  either way, both are better than cain and marte.

I’m a big Springer guy and I almost took him over Verlander. He is such an athlete, I still think he could become a base stealer and he leads off for probably the best team in baseball so you know he will get counting stats no matter what.

This is all true except for me communicating with X...not sure who he's debating with.

Summaries like this are encouraged.

Look upon me and despair.

MI    ::    Scooter Gennett -- Can he repeat the 27 homers?  Hell yeah. If not, see bench
CI    ::    Logan Morrison -- 38 bombs last year, good for 50 in MN
OF    ::    Giancarlo Stanton -- Da God
OF    ::    Nomar Mazara -- Dude is still 22.  MVP candidate
OF    ::    Brett Gardner -- another 20/20 guy, should leadoff for Yankees and their 7000 runs in 2018

OF    ::    Jarrod Dyson -- SP33d, 40 steals in pinch running alone
