*Official 2020 Philadelphia Eagles Thread* Humanity will never recover from the most horrible event to happen in the last 100 years: Doug Pederson pla (1 Viewer)

From Jeff McLane: Apparently, Eagles coaches favored Jalen Reagor over Justin Jefferson, who the scouts preferred. Howie Roseman, ultimately, went with Reagor because of outside speed/scheme and they projected Jefferson as slot (wouldn’t be volume WR) in offense.

sigh.
I don't mind coaches input but it's getting them nowhere

Wouldn’t have mattered. Staff would have misused Jefferson. That plus awful QB play would have given him a fraction of the stats he put up in MIN.

Hes a turd
Absolutely never has anything nice to say unless its about people he likes. Read his Bio book when it came out when he got to the Eagles. Generally felt sorry for the life the dude grew up with. However the dude forgot where he came from and just so arrogant and hateful to certain people. Also I never liked his homophobic comments about Jeff Garcia.

Never said I feel sorry for him now. Just that when I read the book I felt sorry for the childhood he lived, bullying he endured not just physical and mental but racial bullying he dealt with, no father, etc. But he as a human never evolved unfortunately.

Your gators got thrashed. I know a ton of guys opted out(wussed out)  but man thats bad

I think trask just cost himself some major money.  And mullen is such a snake.  How do you feel about the future of fl?   As a bama fan I'm delighted with what I have seen

And don't get me wrong I want fl good for the good of the sec but not sure this is the way to do it

I really didn't watch much of the Game as I was watching Wrestling and totally forgot about the game (Thanks work for all the hrs my days have classed) till almost mid way through the first QTR. I was watching AEW wrestling as one of the wrestlers tragically died a few days ago at 41. I had met him at a philly promotion and my former Co worker did part time WWE work and worked with the dude there so I was flipping back and fourth didn't watch most of the game. From what I did watch it just looked like most of the team wasn't in sync. For yrs now we lose 1 or 2 offensive weapons and the whole offense collapses. We literally lost our top 3 playmakers tonight. I hate the switching of QBs and honestly am not a fan of Emory Jones. This isn't Chris leak/Tebow and Mullen should've understood that. We got the best QB passing wise since maybe Danny Wurrfel and you keep taking him out of games for a guy who's no where close to Tebow's talent? Also Dallas is like a Curse to Florida .2013 Elite 8, 2014 Final Four, 2017 Advocare Kickoff Classic and now this. I officially hate this stadium in Arlington even makes it worse being Jerrah World. Every sport this dam Jerry World has not been kind to Florida.

I still like Trask's NFL Prospects. I like most of the QBs in this class and outside of Joe Burrow I think most of these guys would've been early picks this past draft. My gut feeling hope is wrong but I could see NE taking Trask. They love Florida players but I think it was more of a Meyer/Bellichik relationship then anything over the yrs. Just hope he doesn't go to NE goes some where I'm ok with and he's given a chance thats all I ask anywhere but NE but if Dak leaves Dal please not Dal either. I still like Trask as a top 4 guys. He was playing with a lot of guys he doesn't play with and it looked a lot like Trask trying to do too much and guys not knowing assignments. The one interception was embarrassing in terms of the WR not even attempting to try and make a play on the ball in RZ. Dude just stood there let the OU defense jump him and take. Another was a tipped ball by the WR that should've been caught. The depth or lack there of is telling though in terms of starters I think with a good Combine he can raise his stock. The good thing for Trask is the Heisman votes were already in before this game. Heisman wise I think it's Smith/Trask/Jones. I think Smith and Jones will steal votes from one another which leaves Trask and Lawrence. If we go by who has the best numbers Trask beats Lawerence in almost every category this year. Its gonna depend on how much some voters weigh the wins on. Personally I think it should go to the best player period which is why I think Smith/Trask are 1/2 in no particular order.

A lot of people have been hard on Todd Grantham but he lost half his starting Defense over the last season do to draft/ transfers etc. Do not know what happened there. Our Corners outside of Trey Dean/Marco Wilson are god awful as well. Was kind of expecting a team who plays bad defenses yearly in OU to put up at least 40. Was more worried how the offense would play. The one dude (I think Donovan Stiner) out there tonight probably should transfer to lower division football. But I here Big 12 isn't a fan of Defense so maybe he has a future still in D1. I think the team you saw against the Tide is more of the better team anyway in terms of Florida's potential this year. Probably with a better defense the 1 loss may have been to Bama as well. They have some really good D recruits coming in.

Not sure what to think of Dan right now. I still like the guy. The violations every school has them it's just a matter of how good you are at hiding your cheating. If you ain't cheating in College recruiting you aren't going anywhere. Its the unfortunate nature of the business. Just hate when the NCAA seems to pick and choose who to punish and when. I think he ends up staying honestly. UF has Spurrier in as an advisor and I think Steve will tell him he's better off at Florida then going to the NFL. Overall our offense will take a few steps back with Jones at QB and losing Pitts, Toney and others. The defense I think should get better with guys having another year experience and better recruits. I do appreciate Mullen from bringing us back from hell of the Jim McElwain era. He's the soul reason Will Grier left and should've been given another opportunity at Florida. He cleaned up the program as well. Don't think they do as well next year as this year but I think it's gonna depend on who steps up as well. Do they fire Grantham? We'll see. Just based on everything I saw and or heard probably good I didn't watch most of the game.  Our biggest issue has been depth over the past years and that really needs to change.

All I know for certain is I'd rather have Bama win the title over Clemson or Ohio State.

From Tankathon looks like the the Eagles could technically pick anywhere from #3 to #10 after Sunday.

It looks like there's no way to pass CIN and those .004 SOS points unless they win... stupid tie.

If HOU (+7.5), ATL (+6.5), CIN (+13), and PHL (+1.5) lose as expected, PHL has #6 pick.

I don't even want to think about PHL pulling off a needless win here.

PICK - TEAM - RECORD - WIN% - GB - SOS - STREAK

1 - Jacksonville - 1-14 - .067 - -- - .548 - Lost 14

2 - NY Jets - 2-13 - .133 - 1.0 - .592 - Won 2

3 - Houston  - 4-11 - .267 - 3.0 - .540 - Lost 4

4 - Atlanta - 4-11 - .267 - 3.0 - .550 - Lost 4

5 - Cincinnati - 4-10-1 - .300 - 3.5 - .527 - Won 2

6 - Philadelphia - 4-10-1 - .300 - 3.5 - .531 - Lost 2

7 - Detroit - 5-10 - .333 - 4.0 - .504 - Lost 3

8 - NY Giants - 5-1 - 0.333 - 4.0 - .506 - Lost 3

9 - Carolina - 5-10 - .333 - 4.0 - .529 - Won 1

10 - Denver - 5-10 - .333 - 4.0 - .567 - Lost 2
Here's the top 10 on their board, who are you hoping for so I have something to think about other than this abysmal season?....

Too much to hope for the top OT or LB (which I know they ignore anyway)?

Hope QB's go early and push other talent down or draft our "QB of the future" again?

Throw another dart at a highly drafted WR?

Try and get secondary help with a CB?

Trade down and acquire more picks for this mess?

2021 NFL Draft Big Board

1 - Trevor Lawrence - QB | Clemson - 6'6" - 220 lbs

2 - Penei Sewell - OT | Oregon - 6'6" - 325 lbs

3 - Zach Wilson - QB | BYU - 6'3" - 210 lbs

4 - Justin Fields - QB | Ohio State - 6'3" - 228 lbs

5 - Micah Parsons - OLB/ILB | Penn State - 6'3" - 244 lbs

6 - Ja'Marr Chase - WR | LSU - 6'1" - 200 lbs

7 - Patrick Surtain II - CB | Alabama - 6'2" - 203 lbs

8 - Devonta Smith - WR | Alabama - 6'1" - 175 lbs

9 - Caleb Farley - CB | Virginia Tech - 6'2" - 207 lbs

10 - Gregory Rousseau - EDGE | Miami - 6'6" - 251 lbs
What are we rooting for here so I can feel even worse when we blow the draft positioning / pick?

A lot can change between now and the draft. I'd like to just go with Chase or Smith to shut up the "we need a stud" crowd. We'd have Chase/Smith, Reagor, Ward, Watkins, Hightower, Fulgham as a possible corps. That's far from the worst at that point.

We need a playmaker at the top pick. Whether that's DB or WR, it has to be someone that makes an impact with the ball.

I have confidence they can find good OL in the later rounds and the guys we have can grow into better players with more time.

Chase or Smith. Only way to get production out of Reagor is a strong presence outside him, and we cant do squat in FA. Either of those 2 should be a clear #1 guy. Get it done.

Another fantastic piece here Ash!!!!! What I really love is it's very detailed but also uses words that even a casual fan could comprehend as well. Have you ever thought about doing your own blog of All 22 or maybe writing for an established blog? Even as like a guest writer every few weeks? I think you'd be great in that type of field.
Thanks heaps for that.  I wouldn’t start my own thing, more work than I want to do.  I just like to brain dump when I feel like looking into something is all.

If Stoutland is staying I got confidence in drafting OL later and growing them. We haven't had All pros late but we've had very serviceable guys and enough can't be said of what they've done with Jordan Maliatta either. It's one of the few Very bright spots on this roster right now

It's a shame there isn't more more like this. I've told my cousin he could do it but he has a pretty good job at Well Fargo dealing with rich people's taxes and estates. Plus coaching WRs at Council Rock South during the season a lot on his plate

We should. Every one slightly injured should sit unless they don't have the bodies. I want to see Jaquette and Jabroni starting at CB.
You'll see someone at S as Jalen Mills was put on the covid list yesterday. Fortunately it looks like Alex Smith is starting too to WFT.

EDIT Side Note: Does anyone else anytime they see WFT read it as WHAT F**KING TEAM Like I do or is that just me?

Ridiculous they still don't have a real name and wont have one for next season either

Doug said he wants his voice offensively and nobody else's.

Eagles offense:
- 2nd worst on 3rd downs
- 2nd worst on 4th downs
- Worst in passer rating
- Leading turnovers and sacks
- 2nd worst in pass yards/play
- 1st in rush yards/play but 6th lowest in attempts

We need to fire the Offensive Coordinator

Eagles rule out 9 players vs. WSH:

Miles Sanders
Fletcher Cox
DeSean Jackson
Derek Barnett
Dallas Goedert
Shaun Bradley
Jordan Mailata
Duke Riley
Richard Rodgers

It cannot get worse.  Cant believe he may keep his job

I think Doug is a good head coach. It's when he has to micromanage and be an Offensive Coordinator that strains his abilities.
Guess we can agree to disagree.  I think he's overrated.   Better get some new voices in there cause his isn't getting it done

Smith for Alabama is just at a different speed out there. He doesn’t have dominant size, is he a stud at the next level and a guy we target?

If we don't draft smith I have totally lost faith in all eagles management.   Its such an easy selection. Which means they won't do it.  Guy is exactly what we need and we are in a great position to take him.  Just do it pls

Hes not the best physical specimen but man he can play wr and he's a gamer.   We need players like him in the worst way

Coming out of the draft with him or Chase is an absolute must. I know we need a lot but this consistently chasing your tail at WR has to stop.

Yea, him or Chase. All I want. Think Reagor would have a better chance to succeed as well if he can play 2nd fiddle to a stud.  But - yea, I mean the guy's putting up numbers on a legit program. Don't overthink it.

He looks great. I haven’t seen Chase play but monster stats, prototype size, and coming out as a sophomore seems to be a stud as well.
