Official 2022 college football thread: its conference realignment season. (2 Viewers)

Apparrently this new B1G deal goes completely away from ESPN/ABC....first time in 1000 years they won't be on those channels

Calling my shot now - ND/tOSU will likely remind me of ND/Miami in 2017. Not hearing super great Buchner news out of camp yet. Really think the season hinges on how ND grows in response to a tough week 1 loss. Fans will be in full panic mode for sure.

Getting ready to switch my parents over to YouTube TV. That's going to be tough enough for my 78 and 74 year old technology challenged parents, but I will never hear the end of it if they need Peacock or Paramount+ to watch Nebraska games. :oldunsure:

Dude, I’m counting on your boys to punk the Suckeyes.

I’m being sensible. Freeman is doing ridiculously awesome on the recruiting trail. If he can remotely coach, he’ll hopefully hold on to the forthcoming classes and we’ll have the horses to compete.

ND’s defensive weakness is it’s secondary. Remember the name Clarence Lewis as he’ll be all over Smith-Njigba’s Biletnikoff highlight reel later this year. I just hope Buchner shows he can take the road pressure in that environment and can build upon it.

The conference alignments + NIL is going to really upset things. You are going to get boosters that were happy kicking in PSL and booster club fees now paying into NIL where the money goes to a single revenue sport.

Now that revenue sport is going to bleed dry the non revenue sports making them travel on redeyes with two connections on Tuesday to play a volleyball game in front of 50 people.

Need to really be honest and have regional conferences for Tier 2 sports or this is going to backfire horribly.

How long before the Saudis step in here?

Texas suspends Agiye Hall indefinitely. Sounds like he got his car booted on campus and tried to get it off without paying and got caught.

Davis tearing his ACL for ND is huge. He was a 5th year captain and we now only have 6 total WRs, a few of the others also hurt.

This is the unfortunate legacy of Kelly I hope Freeman rights ASAP : turf, horrible focus on WR recruiting, and a system that’s all about passing. Hopeful we now see more 2 TE looks with the dwindling WR room.

Texas apparently lost Isaiah Neyor yesterday to a knee injury that puts him out for the year. Hall + Neyor = no bueno for Ewers. At least he has Worthy but would have been fun to see the Texas offense at full power. He’ll also have Arch on campus next time they’re back at full strength.

They also lost Senior starting G Junior Angilau...the OL is apparently been a weakness in practice before this injury. Apparently the new turf at DKR is questionable.

Turf as a whole is really showing issues. We had a big thread on our ND board about how much worse the knee injuries have been since the stupid turf went in a few years ago.

Seems like the science is starting to show that bigger muscles in today’s S&C programs + same ligaments + turf is becoming a problematic combination. To be fair, if you ditch the turf you probably still have a highe lat degree of issues than years’ past, but still feels like the NFLPA and other player oriented entities should start speaking up more.

Sure. It's completely ridiculous to have Oklahoma below USC. OU got a coaching upgrade and has more talent on the team.

Jesus Christ.
I would be upset too if my team was going to lose to FCS Duquesne.

I’d be way more upset if mine hadn’t won a National title since the Golden Girls premiered.
