Official 2022 college football thread: its conference realignment season. (1 Viewer)

Fire Tommy Rees. He’s Brian Kelly 2.0. Thinks way to high of his own offensive acumen but is routinely overmatched and yet somehow retains belief in his abilities from peers.

Bench the whole first string on both sides of the ball and fire Rees at halftime. That was one of the worst halves I’ve ever seen. Completely lost coaching staff.

USC uniforms…can’t believe in this day and age with recruiting they still don’t put names on the back of their jerseys. I’m POSITIVE that’s a turnoff to some big time recruits.

Jayded, some delusional ND fans that I know think Rees is a very good OC. He's not Kelly 2.0, he's Kelly lite. This crappy O can never compete with the elites.

Not even joking here, just put flags on the QBs already. It's a waste of time to even play this game and pretend like the outcome isn't random when 30% of the games come down to a dubious call on a stupid judgment penalty that's designed in a way that's impossible to enforce consistently. Put flags on the QBs and make it roughing the passer to tackle them, instead of pretending like you're allowed to tackle them and then throwing a flag for roughing the passer whenever they get tackled.

Then we get endless reviews if their flag was pulled before crossing first down line or goal line

QB sneaks would be automatic 3 yards cuz you couldn’t technically touch the guy.

QB runs are illegal.

It would honestly be better than this crap we have now. Honestly souring me on the entire game. We can barely go a single week without it deciding a game. I'm just over it.

QB runs are illegal.

I get it, but this just isn’t realistic. So basically the Lamar Jackson’s of the world are now obsolete?

If anything you deem the QBs on your roster either passer only or running eligible before kickoff of every game.

Passer only get a special jersey that lights up when touched by opponent and play over. They are not allowed to gain positive yards by run. No QB sneaks, no short runs with slides, etc. If the QB runs past the line of scrimmage they get penalized 5 yds and loss of that down. So your QB is protected but it limits the offensive options of that player.

Run eligible QBs are treated just like any other RB, WR or TE when tackled. And allowed positive rushing yards. This gives full offensive ability but injury risk higher.

Could make for interesting defensive schemes and countering offensive platooning of QBs with different designations.

Fox’s audio mix is terrible with surround. Rear channel crowd noise completely drowns out commentary on the center.
It's always been that way. They send audio in dts or something and not Dolby so the mix for sports gets ****ed. Been that way at least 20 years.

Ugh. What an awful performance all around. Freeman has some major decisions to make ASAP. Rees must go tomorrow or Freeman needs to go with him.

Edit : Forgot a big one - this team is soft. Freeman is soft. He must fix that or he MUST go.

And 26 minutes since the roughing conversation, another terrible call on one on a crucial play in the 4th quarter between two ranked teams.

Just wrap the QBs up. If a QB is wrapped the whistle blows. At least in the NFL starting QBs are waaaaaay to valuable to the product being offered to pretend like we are going to allow them to keep continue getting hit. In college there isn’t as much of a drop off to the backup because all the players are terrible.
