Official 2022 college football thread: its conference realignment season. (3 Viewers)

Biggest winner of Tennessee blowing it has to be TCU. I think a loss still eliminates them, but the teams lurking are now two loss teams that shouldn’t have justification to jump an undefeated conference champ (if they win out).

Tennessee getting creamed opens it up for Bama but more likely the loser of Michigan-Ohio gets in if it’s a close loss. That would be pretty likely actually.

Clemson is still sitting there too.
Yea I think the committee would put Bama in over conference champ Clemson. UNC losing to a terrible Georgia Tech team probably ended Clemson tonight.

Right now it seems to be

Likely:

Uga
Ohio state
Michigan (unless one gets murdered)

Then in order:

Tcu if wins out
LSU if it wins out
USC if it wins out
BAMA
Clemson if wins out
A 2 loss Bama team over a one loss Clemson team that will have beaten SC (who is taking out TEN right now) and a ranked UNC team in their final two games??? I don't see it.

I think the only questions left are LSU, TCU, and the loser of UM/tOSU. The ACC has no business being considered when both of their top two teams got absolutely dismantled by an average Notre Dame team.

Georgia is in win or lose in the SEC championship IMO. Winner of tOSU/UM is in unless something funny happens in the BT championship. I think TCU has the easiest remaining path, so it’s the UM/OSU loser or LSU if they somehow beat Georgia.

Bama’s loss to LSU eliminates them from consideration to me.

Hard to see Bama getting in unless LSU loses to A&M and Georgia and Bama beats Georgia in the SEC Championship
And, you could still make a case for the UM/OSU loser

No love for USC if they are able to run the table? I think they get in before LSU (unless they beat Georgia) and the OSU/UM loser.

What?

Bama isn't getting in, but I can't understand the 1st sentence. I'm from Alabama, but I don't think that's the reason.

Carolina is still a 4-loss team and UNC will be ranked in the 20s after this week. Clemson hasn’t been impressive at all. The committee will justify with some numbers that say if on a neutral field, Bama is the better team. And they are. They would be favored by 10 over Clemson.

QB sneak from the 6 yd line on 1st and goal? Odd, but they get it done on the next play. This USC-UCLA game is a slug fest

Even if LSU loses by 8 touchdowns to Georgia?
They’re in the category with Tennessee - they lost twice and another 2 loss team is the one they lost to.

Bama’s schedule does them zero favors this year too. They had two good opponents this year and lost to them both. Is a team with a best win over Ole Miss really deserving of a top 4 slot?

I’m literally watching them and forgot them. They’re in the consideration, sure, but “love” is not a word I use remotely close to SC other than “I’d love to see them lose any game they ever play.”

There's gonna be a lot of chatter about the 4 seed over the next 3 weeks, but whoever it is will just get boat raced by Georgia.
Just my :2cents: but I’d think (the loser of) OSU or Michigan have a better chance than just about anyone - Granted that isn’t a good chance. Might as well crown UGA now.

Bama was 8 this week and at least one team ahead of them lost. You all may be writing them off because everybody is tired of them but I guarantee the committee isn’t.
The committee’s mental gymnastics to keep the SEC, and especially Bama, alive for consideration is no bueno. It’s the biggest reason I’m personally in favor of the bigger playoff as we’ll either see more SEC justification or more balance.

No, a team who schedules OOC as they do and then only has a best win against Ole Miss didn’t earn it relative to other resumes this year despite how good the committee thinks they should have been on paper.

I say this as a fan, No.

Next week is going to be fun. I think ND can ball control and run on this SC team. I think our defense can keep our offense in it.

SC will be favored for sure because Pyne is not good. If he can just not be the reason ND loses, we have a really good shot. Let’s dance SC!

That game was absolutely crazy. My kid was there in the USC student section 10 feet off the end zone. He was sending us photos during the game. Regardless of what happens the rest of the season, I’m so stoked he got to experience a game like this as a college student.

this is awesome. **** yes.

Bo Nix has been sensational this year. Hope he has a 12 year NFL career like Colt McCoy. Spot start, be ready, win a few games, prepare the starter, go into coaching. Tough kid. Smart kid.

that was a fair catch?? on a kickoff???? at the 5??????
Goes out to the 25... for the last 2 years. ;)
they spotted it at the 5!

i've been drinking... for like 30 years straight... but that didn't seem right to me.
Weird. The only way it should be spotted there would be if 1 player signaled for fair catch, but another player caught it.
I'm pretty sure it was because he didn't actually catch it.
