*** Official 2022 PGA Tour Thread - Memorial Tournament, LIV list leaked- It's all Paulina's Fault **** (1 Viewer)

PGA Tour's answer to fix slow play is to cut the fields down for all of the events starting in 2026 and they will reduce the number of tour cards issued to 100 down from 125. No more monday qualifiers either 👎

This is going to cause some havoc once the LIV players come back into the fold and push players out.

I think it's funny that Brian Harman is saying it's a positive because parking and food will be easier :lmao: mr. waggle slow play side steps the real issue of pace of play and instead votes to back reducing fields so that they can beat sunset in these tourneys. It's no wonder that an average round is now in the 5 hour ballpark for a mid day round near me, people think it's normal to wait til it's there turn and take 5 minutes to hit a shot/take a putt.

It's also about job security. Smaller fields consolidate the available prize money and Fed Ex points in the top players and makes it harder for those outside the top 100 to break through.

Yeah, lots of dudes more than happy to pull the ladder up behind them by keeping out the young-hungry up and comers.

I mean.....I get it.....grinding out a few mil a year by tying for 40th every week is a damn nice living. I'd want to protect that too if I was a non-elite player.

ugh ...this is a horrible solution. Put the onus back on the players and apply the existing rules - or adjust those rules and actually enforce them. Going from 125 to 100 is a HUGE cut and is going to choke off a lot of new talent. And no Monday qualifiers ...come on man.

Going to open room for a another tour.

So the PGA Liv deal falls thru? Now they cut the fields because slow play. Liv could just start developing talent and compete.

Big name players on another pro tour have different ideas

no, 47 played with jay last friday then went to the ufc fight with the sheik that runs liv the next night. He says he will broker a merger in 15 minutes once he is in office, Im guessing the DOJ is part of the issue with a merger happening right now.

I want it like this but I just feel like it's going to be so much manufactured drama that I'm just going to tap out

Charlie is fun to watch.

Crazy how competitive JR golf in FL is. Just because Charlie isn’t ‘x’ position on his golf team or winning ‘x’ amount of Jr tournaments, doesn’t mean a lot now. He’ll be a star. We’ve played a few tournaments where we though he may show…what a buzz.
