*** Official 2022 PGA Tour Thread - Memorial Tournament, LIV list leaked- It's all Paulina's Fault **** (1 Viewer)

The tech is super cool. They really thought of everything and the short game setup was a clever solution to the simulator problem. Obviously the pacing is helpful

But I think it will get old pretty quick. Its a hit and giggle, not a competition.

It was better than I thought it would be, but not must-see tv. They showed the shot data a few times on the bottom. That should be a fixture. Tiger wasn't good in the "booth".

ETA: A buddy and I are just finishing up building a sim. It's almost as nice as this setup. :oldunsure:

i live breath and eat golf and while i only watched 3 holes it was horrific. I couldn’t stomach anymore than that

Yeah, after a bit it didn't look or sound that much different than if they were mic-ed up in a bar playing Golden Tee.

It does show that the sticks up their asses might not be as big as previously thought. I didn't know Xander knew how to smile.

I enjoyed it. Definitely wished the entire time I was just there doing it. But the expediency was great and seeing the guys much looser than on actual courses on the weekend was fun.

Likely won't go out of my way to watch, but will happily watch again - probably while on my putting mat and air chipping when I have some alone time before bed or something.

Only part I didn't like was when Wyndham Clark was just demolishing that really challenging hole and it was merely background noise to DJ Khalid. Nothing against Khalid and I'm glad he's like those of us that like to play, but show me Clark!

The TGL tech is definitely cool but I also thought it got sort of old quick. The “teams” are basically just made up so maybe that was part of it. The fantasy holes are kind of cool but those guys are so good they basically still never get into trouble. I may watch a few minutes more here and there but I guess I prefer the pressure of the real thing…..

So what’s happening with Chacarra and LIV? Lots of smoke he’s trying to leave for the PGA Tour.
his contract is over so he's not a part of LIV anymore, he has to wait a year from his last tourney to then be able to attempt to earn his pga tour card. He is financially set for life now so he won't have the same stress that most players have that are trying to earn their card.

The article I read was other than money he's unhappy with the ability to play in majors, big tournaments etc. His quotes sounded like he was "promised" OWGR eventually but that never panned out so he misses the "prestige". He then tried to compare himself to Aberg but lost everyone with that comment, since he was a middle to back of the pack at LIV ... Sergio cut him from the team.

Homa seems like a fun dude. Played a few weeks ago with a guy who was walking score keeper for him a few times, said he's was a very nice person.

Kiz probably made a good decision going part time this year and spending most of his time in the booth. He was beyond abysmal tonight

I guess you're big time if the announcer at the beginning doesn't even need to drop your accolades as you walk out

I wish they would do a better job of setting up the shot & situation. It kind of moves fast and the announcers don't do a great job of letting viewer know what's happening. Also, I still kind of don't understand the Hammer strategy. Rory and Tiger are both putting for a 4. Rory makes his putt and they throw the hammer, which makes the hole worth double, if accepted. Tiger has a putt to halve the hole, he can not win it, but still accepts the Hammer? Why? So they can gain control of the Hammer that the other team never has to accept if they don't want to? I genuinely don't really get it.

It's added pressure for Tiger, right? He still has to make it to not lose the hole and the 2 points now instead of tying.

But he had the option of not accepting the hammer. Right?

If you don't accept, you concede the hole.

Oh. Well that's good to know.

I forgot that part lol

Also, if it's tossed before tee off it cannot be declined.
