*** Official 2022 PGA Tour Thread - Memorial Tournament, LIV list leaked- It's all Paulina's Fault **** (2 Viewers)

Irons, short game and putting are going to be massive this week with these narrow fairways, massively deep rough and rock hard greens.

Homa holds the course record, and while a completely different set up, I still like him to do well this week. Hovland has been playing some good golf and shows up for majors. I think Cam Smith is flirting with the lead come Sunday, this course suits him if he’s hitting less than driver off the tee.

Rahm loves CA tourneys and I like him over Scottie as he’s not searching for his putter stroke.

Thoughts on some 2/3 tier guys?
- Theegala hits the ball so well
- Rose odds have gone up quickly
- Lower end young/big hitters like Cam Davis?

Filled out a few different cards for this one. I've keyed on Rahm on one, Brooks on another and Hovland on the third.

I called Hatton to win the Canadian and he was charging hard on Sunday. I'm going back to him this week.

Morikawa would ordinarily be a no brainer for me here with his precision, but his back worries me. I'm using him on one card just because if he IS right, this is a good set up for him.

Adam Scott is priced right for me. He's having a great year. I also think Eric Cole is one of the best values going right now.

Count me in on the Fowler train too, if only because I want to see Mrs. Fowler on the big screen in HD.

I would never pick ‘old Ricky’ at a US Open setup because of his flat swing…he can’t get out of the rough like others. Will see if ‘new Ricky’ and being more vertical makes a difference.

Seems really chalky. Scheffler, Hovland, Koepka are my keys. I’m in a pool where we pick 4 guys and a great majority will have those 3 (most combined $ won wins). Some will jam Rahm in there. Then there will be a focus on local guys. Cantlay, Homa. Schauffle and Morikawa are US Open proven. Fitzpatrick too. I think these guys dominate the leaderboard. Don’t know how contrarian I want to get. I’m taking a stand against Rahm, though that killed me last time

No salary cap?

I’ve heard multiple times now that LA CC is the ‘most exclusive course in America’…over Augusta. Not sure if anyone has relevant experience…but I played LACC on a corporate trip (amazing because of the downtown views), and I’ll likely die with my only regret in life being not playing Augusta. Major bull####.

Salary cap pool entries currently. Need 4 guys to make the cut in each of these.

#1
Koepka
Hovland
Lawry
Conners
Suh
Horschel

#2
Scheffler
Schauffele
Reed
Bradley
Mickelson
Kuchar

I’m Scottie > Rahm too…in certain formats that’s a huge decision.

North Or South course, heard South Course has the better city views

Feels chalky to me too, I paired Hovland with both Scheffler and Rahm on separate cards. Like Cam Smith as well if the putter is hot.
Im leaving Koepka off, I know he's going to get played a ton, really tough to go back to back. Ill take my chances elsewhere.

Theegala is an underneath play and also like Hatton a bit

Homa fired a 61 at the Pac 10 championship but no way is that a US open setup. He doesn't seem to do that great in majors, I left him out, dont feel great about it but gotta make choices.

Theegala definitely, feel like its only a matter of time before he breaks through. I vow to have him on a card when it happens.
Corey Conners is another one striking the ball well. Can't seem to close though

No. Can pick any 4. Tiebreaker is winning score. I did 2 teams. Scheffler, Hovland and Koepka are on both tickets. Cantlay is my 4th in one and Rahm is my 4th in the other. Predicted final score -7. The weather is still a bit cool and I just couldn't pull the trigger on Morikawa after he just withdrew due to his back. Can't risk him doing that again. One swing gouging out of the rough and he could be done. Read today he has to squat down to put a tee in the ground. No bueno. Schauffle is a gamer in majors. Been more up and down than in years past. It's going to come down to his driving but if it's on he could be the one who beats me. Rahm has been very successful playing on the West Coast so after going back and forth I put him on one ticket. Couldn't quite get there with Homa and Fitzgerald. I do think Hatton and Rose play well. Faded Cameron Smith, who has a pretty spotty record in US Opens. I'm going for round 1 tomorrow. Won't be doing a "Mashed Potatoes" but may throw out a "Judge Smails" for my fellow FBGs

I am in a PGA pool where you pick one guy each week and can't use them again. You accumulate whatever winnings your picked player gets. Anyway, there are 230 people in this pool, winner takes home 10K.

All that to say is I picked Tommy Fleetwood this week. Nobody else did. If he wins, it would put me into the top 5, maybe even 3rd place depending how other golfers fare.

So, root for good old Tommy will ya.

Thanks

We had a pool like this - I think we only did majors though with the Players. Was really fun. I think we picked 2 golfers no repeats.

Am i reading right that we have NO coverage today until 1 PM, but coverage tomorrow begins at 9:40 ET?
Peacock has coverage right now!!!!

And its free with my giant cable bill lol

my understanding is

Peacock 940-1
USA 1-8
NBC/Peacock 8-11 all the proper time zone time
Looks like I get it with Spectrum as well. Thanks for posting this.

You can also watch featured groups on usopen.com if you don't have peacock.

I like Theegala overall, and bet him for 1st round leader, along with Sebass Munoz and MW Lee.
