*** Official 2022 PGA Tour Thread - Memorial Tournament, LIV list leaked- It's all Paulina's Fault **** (1 Viewer)

Should be tougher today with the sunny dry weather…greens getting faster…
Tom Kim shattering that thought, although lots of hard holes left.
Kim's on a roll, but I suspect the guys teeing off late may have some issues.

really humble kid. first to win twice before 21 since Tiger in 1996 (his 21st is next week.)

earlier today I read this piece from last fall's Presidents Cup preview.

dad was a min-itour pro turning teaching professional; they moved from S Korea to China to Australia to the Philippines - searching for a lower cost of living

Kim turned pro at 15 and appreciates how much his life has changed the last couple years.

Plus he fell in a swamp on live TV

Bogey is a win for Xander there after three attempts to hit it out of the bunker.

So a brand new polo/apparel company signed DJ…Excalibur…then puts him in a black 100% poly polo it appears…maybe Saudi or Asian? They have no chance of success.

Course definitely played tougher today. Amazing that the sun was the force of nature they needed.

I went and the course was cool but definitely not setup great from a fan perspective. Not an easy course to get around and the viewing spots were not ideal.

Having gone to tournaments at Pebble many times, that course sets up so much better for viewing.

Im also amazed looking back that there were two 8 unders on Thursday. No way is this course easy. The par 3s are ridiculous, a 290 and a 270. Hole 16 was like a 500 yard par 4, hole 2 was eating them up, another long par 4.

Agree…must have been playing shorter? The greens were ‘slow’ and attackable.

Just me or does this seem like a muted major? Just not a great atmosphere.

I think the course is fine. Couple guys had an awesome round 1, no one else has been close, pretty stout since then.

Heard they sold t22,000 tickets - normal major is close to 40K, no? - and only 9K of those were for general admission. All members and corporate tickets.

Maybe its just not laid out well at for spectators? If you don't have viewing mounds or natural vantage points there's only so many grandstands you can squeeze in.

Anyway, just doesn't seem like the crowd is into it, and we've seen some great moments. Just MHO, could be off base.

No, I think you're on it. Broadcast has talked about not a lot of great viewing areas. The crowd that is there, outside of the grandstands, are mostly in between fairways to see multiple holes. Many tees and greens have no one around them, so not a lot of big roars.

Crowd isn't there. Only 9,000 tix were made available to general public.
And LACC tried initially to have ZERO tix available. Not kidding.

And this NBC coverage - all parts of it - is like a grade-school production.

COVID or trying to be like the masters?

Amazing how little birdies there are for as many times as these guys are within 150 yards of the pin coming in.
