You guys.....it's not The Masters where an audible fart earns a lifetime ban. Fans are going to do fan things. It's the US Open. The fans want an American to win. Especially deep in the south.
I swear some of you have watched golf for the first time this year and have OPinIoNS
I disagree. These fans have seen Happy Gilmore a few too many times. Golf fans aren't supposed to act this way.
You can't lionize a frat bro event like the WM Phoenix Open and then expect perfect decorum from a US Open crowd.
The Masters can police this tawdry behavior so golf has a model in place. Not sure how you standardize that for revolving venue major events.
I didn't see much policing of behavior at the masters from the gallery. The tickets cost 20x what an open ticket costs so that is a factor for sure.
Not really. Tickets to the Masters are actually relatively inexpensive (at face value anyway). And you might not see the behavior police but it most certainly is there.
Lol at thinking anyone pays face for tickets to the masters.
Everyone sells the tickets they won in the lottery? No.
Anyway, the point is that if you misbehave you're out. It has little to nothing to do with the price of tickets keeping the riff raff out
The lottery provides a fraction of tickets. Most are the members tickets that sell them to brokers. The tickets are badges for the full week. When you get in with one of the brokers you deal with the situation you lose or otherwise don't return a badge, often with a deposit.
The deposit was quite a bit. Some have you escrow the damn money.
Never saw anyone get in trouble nor get their badge yanked. In fact there was nearly no marked security anywhere.
Rates for Thurs/Fri range a bunch and depends on how hot your hosts are and whatever. Paid $4500 in 2016 for Thurs Fri . Did practice before and it was fine and cheap.
Same outfit looking for 8k now and 12 weekends.
Done 4 us opens. Paid $150 for entire week passes at points.
