Bennett out. :sadbanana:

Norsgaard hasn't done much so far but he's a TT and the 10th Stage is the ITT.

Hayter is a big loss for my team.

Holy Remco, Batman!

That was impressive! Just getting around to watching now.

João Almeida was headed for a Top 8 and blunders with 500 meters left. The press motorcycles pull off to the left & he blindly follows before realizing he’s off course.

Cost him a good 25-30 seconds and 7-8 places for the stage (finished a respectable 15th.)

an observation from r/peloton:

I did a little math this morning (well Excel did most of it), and my trendline says 334 riders will be out of the Vuelta by the last stage. (I count DNF and DNS in every stage, so not only Covid casualties)

Edit : It's actually 776 riders, I counted 21 days instead of 24 including rest days

Edit² : You know what, even with a linear approach (instead of exponential), I have 120 riders out at the end of the race. And if Covid made us learn something, it's probably how exponentials work (that or basic hygiene, depends on who you ask)

This morning @PavelSivakov has returned a positive lateral flow and will not take to the start of stage 11 of the Vuelta a España in line with team and UCI protocols.

Simon Yates withdraws from La Vuelta a España after testing positive for COVID-19

(also Affini? DNS Stage 10 but this morning they’re saying he also tested positive? :confetti:)

Julian Alaphilippe having his right shoulder looked at by the medical staff....and now being evacuated by the ambulance

out, huge loss for Remco

Plapp then Repa crashed

neat race

Ayuso tested positive for covid but is still tracing today.

P.S. I had the stage winner two days ago, and the winner and 2nd place riders yesterday... I can't wait to have all 3 on the podium today! :oldunsure:

Nice to see Mads get the Stage win, having an amazing Vuelta.

I haven’t won a stage in Velogames yet, maybe today. Though @DA RAIDERS also has Pedersen so perhaps not.

Only one DNS/WD today, first time since Stage 6 we haven’t lost multiple riders.

Boring fist stage with the peloton holding the breakaway in check. But fantastic content today in the form of a lengthy chat between Bob and Jonathan Vaughters, manager of EF Education-EasyPost.

Plus, you know, that last 3km...

yeah that stage went from 0-100 quick

Spanish journalist is saying that she has just talked to doctors that have attended Roglič and he probably has no factures and don’t need stitches. And that he is very angry with himself.

Thought for I’d get a stage win today (only have 1 so far) but lost by 4. Da Raiders train keeps on rolling.

He sure looked concussed....

Definitely had that wtf am I stare

Tough luck this year hope he finishes

what a great Vuelta for Mads
I definitely made the right choice dropping him to make room for Hayter on my Veloteam.

yeah I dropped Enric Mas for Hayter so touché

(actually I was maybe over budget not sure)

my sentimental Chris Froome pick was another stroke of genius

lost two to Covid I presume everyone else did as well

seems like where I messed up was not having another strong GC result to pair with Remco - Joao Almeida and Jai Hindley got smoked my Mas

it's my first Velogames and I spent all of 5-10 minutes researching so just happy I didn't embarrass myself

I took Froome as well. don't like him, just thought he might get back on the sauce and show up in the Vuelta. he had a decent tdf. showed small signs of the old Froome.

16,177 days since the last time a Belgian rider won a GT according to Eurosport. Chapeau Remco!

Well deserved, wasn’t sure he’d hang on and today he had no help. Answered every attack he needed to, didn’t panic when he lost a full minute on an earlier stage. Obviously lot of Covid DNS but it is what it is. Sixth youngest by my count - the five in front of him: 2 prewar, 1 each in the 1950s, 60s, & 70s.

Carapaz wins Stage 20 for the hat trick. Not bad after his week 1 form. A genuine King of the Mountains, not just an inadvertent win by a GC guy.

OK, GC guy who 🙂 the bed & then turned it around.

Hanna going for the hour record right now. Get this. He's running a 65-14. No, that's not a typo.

:jawdrop:

Update: he obliterated the record. Beast mode.
