Holy hell... this line...

"But to be fair, this is not the first time that a group of Americans has blundered into a country in the Middle East without bothering to fully educate itself about the facts on the ground first."

I've stayed away from the non-game coverage, but the decision to put #85 on the case struck me as the same kind of John "the Juggler" Harkes 'Americanization' crap fans had to put up with in the early days of MLS. You'd literally have to pay me to watch that steaming pile.

The only time I actually watched Fox was during the US-England and US-Netherlands matches. Even then I really didn't listen to any commentary.

For the most part I've been doing what I'm doing now...watching on my work computer on the Spanish broadcast on Peacock with the sound off.

Wow, those 2 Moroccan players knocking each other down as they broke for the ball at the edge of the box was something.

Pretty incredible Morocco got to PKs.
I haven't been able to watch the whole game - just parts here and there at work - but the parts I have seen is Spain basically passing around the parameter of the box all day. Probably the best strategy for Morocco is let them do that to try and get HERE. With a chance.

I've also been watching at work and while I would say Spain has controlled the ball as expected, the quality of scoring chances has been about equal. Great game plan by Morocco.
