***Official 2022 World Cup Thread*** (1 Viewer)

I just realized that Morocco vs Spain is the Gibraltar Grudge. A huge deal for Morocco that probably spurred them on past what was thought probable in this win.

No elevation on those kicks. I wonder how much they practice them.

"Over a year ago, in many national camps we told players, 'You have homework ahead of the World Cup. You must take at least 1,000 penalties with the club'. You can't just train them when they're with the national team'," Luis Enrique told reporters on Monday.

"I don't think it's a lottery. If you train often, then the way you take penalties improves. Obviously, you can't train the pressure and tension, but you can cope with it.

Ouch - makes it even worse. Those were the penalties of somebody who thought their lives depending on it. So bad.

Ronaldo-no!

The guy makes himself so loved where ever he goes...

What’s the story here?

Ronaldo got all pissy when coach subbed him. This upset the coach when he watched the replay, and then decided not to start him today.

Portugal fans should be happy about that - bring him on late in the game if you need a goal - he won't shrink from taking a penalty.

The US walloped this Moroccan team 3-0 this summer which caused the coach to get fired. Looks like we did them a favor.
We absolutely did. The previous coach got Ziyech so pissed he "retired" from international football. Ziyech is without a doubt their most talented attacker. New coach immediately met with Hakim and got him back into the fold and it's been huge for them.

New coach hasn't lost yet FYI.

They haven't shown anything or suggested it's the case, but I desperately want to know if there was a camera on Ronaldo when that went in.

To be honest, I'm not sure how much of the evidence being presented in the hearings would even be allowed in a court of law. Chain of possession, authentication, hearsay, etc. Trump's attorneys would tear a lot of this stuff to shreds. I'm sure the Democrats don't want this to go into a courtroom either because right now, the evidence is being presented in a light most favorable to their position. You think a Republican representative like Liz Cheney is going to ask tough questions, hell no, she's nothing more than a rubber stamp. That all changes when a defense team gets to sift through evidence, question witnesses, and present their own evidence.
How much of the hearings have you actually watched for yourself?

Didn't watch one second of the televised hearings.
OK, glad you know what's going on then. FYI, the testimony being given is probably more trustworthy than the 2nd and 3rd hand accounts you're being fed.

What are you basing that statement on?

Congressional Committees don't follow the Federal Rules of Evidence. The evidence being presented has not gone under any type of scrutiny. Therefore, it is unreliable at best, regardless of how compelling you may think it is.

Isn't there always a camera on him? I'm sure he pays for one to be at least.....
Here you go.

And what a ridiculous strike that was.
Why are making this political?
:lmao: nice quote usage....

I know they were good shots with some speed and accuracy, but I feel like both of the goals were savable by the Swiss GK. The second one especially, he just looked like he was slow to react.

I'm assuming, for his sake, that such was saved on his phone or some such from a long time ago back in the days of a sub forum not to be named...

This first one was a laser to the top corner. Sure you can say he shouldn't get beat near post but that placement was perfection. Any keeper that stops that probably got lucky.

The Pepe header was actually really good and he was close to it. I don't blame either goal on the keeper - they were really hard shots to stop.
