Just you PA/Jersey guys complaining about everything...I swear that's not my alias......
Nah. I don't mind my hcp ballooning to a 9.... I was always coming in with similar scores and hitting the ball solid. Now it's grounders, shanks, thin, fats skulls every other holeJust you PA/Jersey guys complaining about everything...I swear that's not my alias......
Two courses. The East Course is $277 for a round and before 1:00 it's walking only and a caddie is REQUIRED at extra cost!Isn't the new home of the PGA literally right there? (PGA frisco)
Guessing tee times are tough, but it looks pretty sick

still here might play sunday...........And I'm officially shutting it down for a few weeks. Was playing pretty decent and consistent. Last 3 rounds look like I just started to play golf. I actually had a whiff on a par 3 with a f****** 9 iron.
So disgusted
Hah. I’ve done a 24 guy golf trip for 30 years. We did it in Reno once. It was a debacle. First - it was the first week of June. 85 degrees on opening day. 38 degrees or something on the last day. Guys brought shorts and ended up having to buy every layer in the golf shop. That is - for those that showed up. All night casino action, trips to strip clubs etc meant we had a lot of no shows. Beautiful courses though4 days of golf tournament and debauchery this weekend in Reno. Getting excited.
As you know it can turn around quickly. I try to take a day or two off and then just come back out. I was playing great and then the last 2nd rounds everything was a weak push. No power. Couldn’t rotate. Happens sometime when I play after travel. Went Tuesday and just concentrated on swinging hard and rotating. Long and straight. 37 for the 9. I’ve always been “smooth”. But I need to get after it and up my swing speedstill here might play sunday...........And I'm officially shutting it down for a few weeks. Was playing pretty decent and consistent. Played the same course on Friday and shot a 44. My driving and approach shots were great. Putting was horrible. 24 putts including 6 3 putts! Granted, 3 of the three putts were balls just off the green.Had my best 9 hole round ever today shooting an even par 36. 7 pars, 1 birdie, 1 bogey. Putting was very good for me with 16 total putts and no 3 putts.
Bulle Rock used to be phenomenal. Would play once a year every year until covid hit. Haven't been back in 4 ish years. They got sold 10years ago? And actually lowered the prices. It used to be more expensive. Buddy played it 2 years ago and was in great shape
Its a great track. If you play there remind me to tell you a story about the first hole and my father.........Bulle Rock used to be phenomenal. Would play once a year every year until covid hit. Yeah, i was surprised how open the tee sheet (nearly everything was open next Thursday) and that the cost was less than $100.
Hope it works out.

Whisky.Back to playing. Can't really describe my game. I'm much more consistent this year but I dont have any low scores I usually throw up. My scoring average is pretty much the same as it usually it but tahts just becuase I'm playin more consistently. My driver which I rarely ever have trouble with is suspect this year - no confidence, lost yardage. Irons are pretty solid. Putting another thing I've historically been good at is off. HCP index is up 1.2 but just feel off. A lot of 39 - 43 type rounds
However and its mental at this point. I can't hit a hybrid or 3-wood off the deck...... i top them every fn time. Its awful. No clue where that came from. 3wood off teh deck is usually $$$

1. Tips: take a lesson or two if you are serious, play initially to have fun and pick up your ball if you get frustrated, play cheaper courses to start (muni courses and executive courses are the best for a beginner), and focus mostly on simply making clean contact on the ball with the club. In other words, all you should care about right now is generating decent ball flight without caring so much where it goes. Mechanically, best and simplest tip I can think of is to keep your strong arm (right arm if you're right-handed) from flaring out on the swing and your strong arm's elbow generally hinged close to the body (watched a youtube video or two about lag and swing path).I'm a total beginner. We smack some balls at Top Golf once in a while. I've done two full rounds with some buddies that tried to coach me up as we went along.
High value tips?
What's the best bang for your buck in terms of getting clubs?

I would say even if not. One or two lessons can do wonders. Or so I am told - I have never taken a lesson in my life. I probably should though. I have lost distance over the years, and am a worse chipper, but am a better mid iron player and way better putter than I used to be. My handicap probably has only changed 3 or 4 strokes either way since I was 181. Tips: take a lesson or two if you are serious,
I had the same 3-wood issues…this spring switched to a new 5-wood…and am now smoking it to roughly where I was hitting the 3. New club of course, but also the loft just gets me to a much more comfortable place mentally. Also works well for my home club yardage.Back to playing. Can't really describe my game. I don't have a 7 wood, but I do have a 7 hybrid that I could clear a 1,000-foot tree right in front of me with. Love it.I'm here to once again evangelize the masses on the merits of playing a 7 wood.
That is all.
I cant hit a hybrid all of a sudden you think I'll be able to hit a 7wood//////////////I'm here to once again evangelize the masses on the merits of playing a 7 wood.

What do you mean he is over 1000 now?Guy at my club motivated me during a match yesterday. He’s spent about 2 months working to get a bigger turn. Just set up a mirror in his garage, then had a driver, 6 iron and one of those Orange whips. Doesn’t hit balls. Just does stretching and over exaggerating a big turn. Trying to do the drill 10,000 times to make it stick. He’s over 1,000 now. Dude is 6’3” and lanky and 10 years younger than me but my God, he was driving the ball sometimes 70 yards more than me. I’ve shortened up with the shoulder surgery and it’s hurting distance and height. I’m still scoring well because of course management and a great short game, but I’m putting too much pressure on my longer irons. I’m going to get to work
