A guy on the radio said teams that win game one of these 3 game series are 12-0 to win the series.
Hinch needs to throw analytics and pitch counts out the window and let Skubal finish this game. He is unhittable right now.
No.....be like Dave Roberts and get into your BP early in a series so by game 4 or 5 or 6 the other team has seen them for 4 games in a row and they have pitched 4 out of the last 5 days. That's how you do it.

Huge win for the Tigers, Skubal lights out and Vest played that runner at 3rd perfect.
This is turning into an incredible rivalry between these two teams. Last year's series, the amazing playoff run/falter and this year's series.
Great first game, can't hold down Skubal and it would be a miracle if the Guards continue this out-of-body moviesque run, but if the games go like this then it will be a great series.

The Red Sox continue to confuse me.

I'm not gloat posting because there is a long, long way to go and it's an undermanned Red Sox club in Yankee stadium, but I told my parents in the 4th that Judge couldn't throw and they ought to test him.

I mean, what exactly is he doing out in right field?

73.2 mph on this throw from Judge on the Sogard double. Arm definitely still an issue. That extra base allows Sogard to score on the Yoshida single.Grisham probably has to call off/cut off Judge here? Healthy Judge nails Sogard at second. Sox tested Judge's arm and it worked.

well that was exciting.

Yeah, loading them up to get three straight was not good for my health.

The Red Sox had to have that game. I know that anything can happen in the playoffs (the Nationals? Rendon don’t even like ball!) but without a Devers (self-inflicted but necessary) or an Anthony and Casas we have too serious of a talent disparity even compared to the two teams in the AL East to really do anything but enjoy the ride and impassioned ups and downs of the expanded playoffs.

So it’s cool we get at least a Game Three and we will just roll with it as fans.

Plus if they are that worried about his arm and he can't get the ball anywhere but they want him in the field he should be in LF where the weakest armed OF'er is usually located.

Yep. No doubt. Very confusing managerial/front office priorities. He really shouldn’t be out there at all.

Bases loaded, nobody out, down one.

Nothing.

Follow that with 2 errors on weakly hit balls. Ball game.

That will haunt the Reds and their fans for a long long time. :(
