With the exception of the Bucks' title a couple of years ago, I've just kinda numbed myself to the fact that Wisconsin sports fans just can't have nice things... :kicksrock:

With Woody out, last night was the game that Milwaukee needed to get. Hard to see them winning two straight against Gallen and Kelly.

Probably will make you appreciate this dynasty even more:

This has got to be schtick, right?

I mean, the tagline reads "The Houston Astros cheating scandal and what it says about baseball today. . ."

Now, don't get me wrong. I'm a Red Sox fan. Our 2018 title is very much up for scrutiny, IMO. It feels tainted as all get-out.

You should watch the documentary. The trashcans stopped years ago yet they still dominate. Slowly the rest of MLB is catching up (see Mike Elias and the Baltimore Orioles).

I mean.....they were in a dogfight to the very end to win the West over Texas and Seattle. They are still a great team, but they didn't dominate this year.

They won a title in 2017 and 2022

The Red Sox won them in 2004, 2007, and 2013.

Unless you're calling the Sox dynastic (they're not) I don't see how the Astros have done anything better, really. They've won two titles in six years. That's not domination. Heck, the Giants did that back in the early '10s. They won in 2010, 2012, 2014. Much more impressive than the 'Stros.

I was more speaking more on their past accomplishments although winning their Division again is no small feat. Reaching the World Series 4x and winning twice in the past 5 years is pretty good for baseball. Extremely tough do something like that in today's game.

It's been tough to do that since the early nineties. The Yankees were the last true dynasty from '96-'00. It was hard then, too. Most of the same restrictions were in place other than the luxury tax.

I'd say it was easier back then. The current playoff set up brings on a host of other worthy competitors who may just get hot at the right time.

Fair enough. Good point. The expansion of the playoffs makes it more difficult to navigate the waters of luck and hotness.

That's true, they have been extraordinary the last half-decade, cheating scandal aside. But they aren't dominating the AL currently. We'll see how they play this post-season, but I think their days of domination are over. I don't think their starting pitching is dominant and they had to make a trade to bring back Verlander, who isn't a homegrown product for them.

The glory days. Man, I miss that. As one of the great 20th century philosophers, Tom Keifer of Cinderella once said, "You don't know what you got 'till it's gone."

I hated the hair band genre with a white-hot passion in the late 80s very early 90s (before Grunge came in like a tsunami and blew them all off the radio/MTV) but I'm not gonna like.....I LOVE Cinderella and just might be listening to them later today.

Cinderella was kinda an outlier in the hair metal scene. I mean, yeah, they wore more makeup than a cheap hooker, but musically, they were a very good, blues-based rock band.

I'll be at the park tonight and am optimistic. I've attended end-of-season-earlier-than-expected playoff losses for the Packers, Bucks and Brewers plenty of times over the years so its water off a duck's back for me at this point. We'll have fun either way. Heading out soon to get things started.

Blue jays just pulled Berrios in the bottom of 4 of a 0 0 game when he's been absolutely dominant. One of the most ridiculous moves ever seen in playoff baseball.

In related news, Twins scored 2 in the 4th.

Rangers couldn't have asked for anything better in that series. Replace Grossman with Garver and let's get to Baltimore.

It was very strange. He walked one guy to start the inning, the hottest hitter on the team, and then was gone.

I understand the theory - the Twins hammer righties and are much weaker against lefties, plus Rocco is going to hit for a couple lefties when you bring in the lefty reliever and those righties are overall not as good.

But you make this move if Berrios gets into any trouble, and he was looking pretty dominant.

I've been to almost one game in every playoff series. Went to 2:WS games in 08.....it's absolutely nuts here right now
