I have re-watched the last three innings of last nights ALCS Game 3 multiple times, including the individual HR clips online. Couldn't believe what I was watching the first time around - heartbroken by Judge/Stanton, elation by Thomas/Big Christmas, and euphoria by a Fry walk-off. Great back and forth game with all the tension and emotion you could ask for from baseball. Already pumped up for tonight and hoping this feeling carries on for a few more days. Just the clip from the city watching the stadium erupt with the walk-off HR and fireworks was amazing. Peacefully quiet and then the city erupts in the dark of night. So much fun!

I’ve been scrolling twitter nonstop, watching every clip that pops up. Hammy’s calls, inside the TBS booth, home runs set to Celine Dion and Moneyball. It’s all fantastic.

As a guy with no skin in the game other than an ingrown hatred of the Yankees I was flat out sick when Clase gave up the lead. And when Pedro Cerrano smashed that BOMB in the bottom of the 9th (FU JOBU) I about came out of my chair.
And then the Fry home run? Come on now.
They will/have to find a way to pay him, right?

I wouldn't call it weird really. Just open with a nice lead shoulder tuck so he can see the pitcher/pitches well. His load/unload with no stride is amazing.it’s the weird way he faces the pitcherNo I know..... Hes a stud. That was my kid. I'd just be telling her relax. You look so stiff LOLthat’s just his stance

It's things like this that makes me sad when almost all coaches try and change players natural swings/stances to be cookie cutter. There are definitely points in the swing that need to be certain ways but how you get there doesn't need to be the same cookie cutter look and sometimes that is a detriment to the player if it is "natural" to them. It's a fine line for sure but sometimes less tinkering is better on the less important things.Understand. (but I agree, Ohtani has always looked odd to me and I am amazed he gets the results he does. Also, when he looks bad he looks really bad on some swings...........there just aren't many of them)

Agree. One guy I had look at my kid when she was younger. "Tweaked" a couple things but didn't try to change a lot. She had a good swing to begin with so obviously less to tweak but it was whatever worked for her to get to those "checklist" in a swing. However you want to define it. First off, people going to friday nights game at chavez ravine better leave tomorrow because the traffic is going to be nuts. lakers, USC, and david gilmore all with events friday night.

verlander now has 262 wins and has a chance to get to 300 and if he does that might be the last time any pitcher gets to 300 so in about two or three years he is probably there and that is something to watch because it might be like the last passenger pigeon see him before its too late take that to the bank brohans

My first Dodgers WS game was Game 1 of the 1974 series against the A's. Catfish Hunter started for the A's. My Dad took me.
My Dad grew up in Brooklyn. He was a catcher, and caught Don Larsen in American Legion ball in San Diego. He was catching Larsen and there were Yankees scouts in the stands. Larsen threw a fastball high and outside and my Dad couldn't backhand it, so he reached up with his right and barehanded it. Larsen called him to the mound and yelled at him for showing him up. My Dad told him if you want to look good for the scouts, throw f'n strikes.
A couple years later Larsen throws a perfect game against the Dodgers in the 54 WS. My Dad is 95 and still hates that guy and the Yankees.

Starting pitchers are a dying breed. With all of the injuries, it makes way more sense to have guys go 3-4 innings and then rotate bullpen guys over the course of 3-4 days. Dodgers NLDS and NLCS is a roadmap to what pitching will look like.
Speaking of which, Fernando Valenzuela's 8-0 with 8 complete games in his first 8 games is something nobody will ever see the likes of again. RIP El Toro.

There is only one 300 game winner ever with less than 4000 innings pitched. That's Lefty Grove who would have more except he didn't reach the majors until age 25.
Verlander is the active leader in innings but he's still more than 500 short. Kershaw and Scherzer aren't even at 3000 IP.
