Official 2025 Professional Golf thread - JT next on the road to Slam? (1 Viewer)

Campbell getting the win after that lucky OB bounce on the second playoff hole was pretty nuts

One of the best photos I've seen in a while - just pure bliss these two. So happy for him and his gal.
100s to 1000s of hours of hard work culminated into a moment. He's about to exponentially increase his income.
I barely caught any of the tourney but did wake up from a nap to see him on happy hour with Smiley talking about how we was always second place and never a winner even on the korn ferry tour. Glad to see that he won.

Big news out now that the API did not give special invites to Speith or Fowler... 🤯
On TGC now, Faxon and co are really baffled by it...likely giving up million+ viewers, while also giving invites to players not playing as well currently.

Yeah I'm not entirely following the tournament's logic there.

May be a good thing for me/Tampa with the Valspar in 2.5 weeks...Speith usually plays as he and JT love Copperhead, but the schedule was not looking good coming in to allow it.

no way those 2 alone are worth a million plus viewers, maybe a few hundred but saying more than that is wild. I wouldn't say that Rose and Min Woo over Spieth and Fowler is egregious and I think Campos deserved it with a win last year and Hughes was basically a shot short of auto qualifying.

Faxon said Scott Seymour from Golf Mkt company Octagon told him Spieth alone is worth 1-1.5M eyeballs.

That is so ridiculous :lmao: :lmao:

The reply's are no dig at you Gump, I just find the current crop of Golf commentator's horrible and they are always over dramatizing everything.

so Jordan would be worth half of the viewership of last year's final round (if he even made it that far) according to these guys. Hopefully they are talking about how missing the LIV players are hurting ratings for these "72 player specialty events"

Overall, the troubling numbers align with the downward trend this season for the PGA Tour. For instance, the final round of the Arnold Palmer checked in with just 2.3 million, down 30 percent from last year’s 3.3 million.

I'm guessing they are talking about a 4 day total.
Regardless...to your point, tournaments should be giving Spieth invites. He also needs more runway to qualify for the Ryder Cup...although if he's even close he's making that.

I'll be throwing a bunch of bets down in Vegas but right now, Fleetwood at +3000 is getting a little slice of my money. He's sitting on a big one, IMO.

Well Aberg and that stupid circle over the A in his name screwed me over again. First rule of my pick 3 pool is make the damn cut. Of course my other 2 are doing well and will probably finish top 5 or 10.

Maybe this has been said in here already but my favorite golf factoid is that Maverick's father, Scott McNealy, co-founded Sun Microsystems, which was acquired by Oracle Corporation for $7.4 billion in 2010. Maverick thought about not golfing despite being the #1 college prospect and going into business instead.

This does not compute. I thought the majority of us are only in business so that we can golf nice courses. Maverick, you made the right decision.

Man he flushed that one on 17. Feel bad for him. It was over right there.
Yep. Little adrenaline rush to just deflating disaster.

I wish his putt went in on 18 yesterday. He's a true grinder and I would have been happy for him to see it fully pay off.

Thought's on JJ's double drop yesterday?

His ball landed near a sprinkler head in the rough, then he deliberately dropped it near another sprinkler head to get another club length. On his second drop he was able to drop in the fairway and get out of the rough.

I heard an official was walking him thru it? If so IMO seems like he knew there was a rule he could use in his favor, and executed.
