I agree with that point. I think it was to make up for the perceived snup last year. I scratched my head when it was announced. Odd. If someone else was captain, I would have liked him as a captain's pick.50% of his decisions were bad. Why was he the coach? He’s not even a popular guy….has a rep as arrogant…which showed.Morikawa on the team and putting Morikowa and English back out this morning. What else was there? With the way the Europeans are playing, not sure it mattered. What’s the list of Worst Coached Championships of All Time?

This year should have been Phil, pre-shrooms.
I think the coaches get too much credit and too much blame. Europe is playing out of their minds. What’s the list of Worst Coached Championships of All Time?
This.Europe is playing out of their minds.
8 of the top 9 in SG putting. +9.55 as a teamThis.Europe is playing out of their minds.
Yes…but only if Keegan wasnt so vocal about his prep and analysis. His arrogant attitude about his terrible decisions was the icing. And we’re talking about some of the worst decisions in Ryder history.I think the coaches get too much credit and too much blame. Tha't s bs IMO...you can't gauge the impact of trotting out English and Morikawa to get slaughtered. If you had some ai run some simulation of every possible pairing for the US, not even the players picked, and took the best ones they would still surely still be down 5-6 going into tomorrow.
Or running out Scotty with anyone? I mean, no one in history has gone 0-4 in the first 2 days. Huge coaching error.Tha't s bs IMO...you can't gauge the impact of trotting out English and Morikawa to get slaughtered. If you had some ai run some simulation of every possible pairing for the US, not even the players picked, and took the best ones they would still surely still be down 5-6 going into tomorrow.
Imagine what Scottie was thinking when Keeg trotted English and Morikawa out again on Saturday.Or running out Scotty with anyone? I mean, no one in history has gone 0-4 in the first 2 days. I would say that the coach probably expects the best player in the world to go 3-1 on Friday/Saturday. That would put the score at 7-1/2 to 8-1/2.Tha't s bs IMO...you can't gauge the impact of trotting out English and Morikawa to get slaughtered. If you had some ai run some simulation of every possible pairing for the US, not even the players picked, and took the best ones they would still surely still be down 5-6 going into tomorrow.
That's fair and Tiger-esque...but coaching matters. Scottie never believed in this slapdick.I would say that the coach probably expects the best player in the world to go 3-1 on Friday/Saturday. I dont know. Is believing in the coach why Scottie couldn't make a putt that mattered? Some players just don't excel at match play, but you would hope he could win 1 in four ball. That's fair and Tiger-esque...but coaching matters. It got annoying in the Rory match, but it hasn't been that bad for the most part. And Shane Lowry (Rory's partner) seemed to thrive on the boos. He's definitely one of those sports guys that would be a warrior on the road.I only watched a little while this morning through the early afternoon. Have the fans been this rowdy and boisterous the whole time or did I just happen to hear some drunk fans?
Are the fans like this in Europe?
Feels like LIV Golf. Pretty embarrassing!
Read Scottie’s pairs are 22 under par through his 4 matches. He ain’t the problem.I would say that the coach probably expects the best player in the world to go 3-1 on Friday/Saturday. They just changed the sign for the black course. Why wasn’t Bethpage set up US Open style- extra long, narrow fairways, deep rough, fast greens, and challenging pin locations? I feel like we conceded our advantage from the start. We’re never going to beat the Euros in a putting contest.
If he is that mentally and emotionally weak, then he probably shouldn't be out there. The implication that this affected the outcome of the other matches is laughable.Imagine what Scottie was thinking when Keeg trotted English and Morikawa out again on Saturday.Or running out Scotty with anyone? No. The reaction here is pretty much wtf.Are the fans like this in Europe?

It's actually ridiculous. Golf growing more popular and accessible to frat bro morons is really sad. I wish I was 15 years older and had played a lot of golf preCOVID instead of only a couple years.Anyone else feel like the Ryder Cup has jumped the shark? Love the format and the concept, but the fan "experience" has gotten out of hand. It's obnoxious and annoying to watch - kind of like the drunken slobs at the Waste Management. Maybe this is just my "Get off my lawn" moment, or perhaps I don't like watching the USA get absolutely drubbed by a far superior team.
She stepped down last nightI am a little shocked that the MC was apparently leading vulgar chants over the mic. Directed at Rory. Really? This is what this has come to? Pathetic.
As I was watching, I was hearing chirps/noise right as players (on both sides) were starting their back swings or putts. That stuff is classless. Just cause you paid money to watch an event doesn't give you the right to be a boorish moron. I didn't watch the afternoon, cause lets be serious, the writing was indelibly painted on the walls by then. but even in the morning, before the 19 beers have kicked in, it was bad.
I need to go now, time to shake my fist at the clouds.
I gotta wonder, did she realize she was way out of line or if the PGA came knocking and told her to resign or get fired. She stepped down last nightI am a little shocked that the MC was apparently leading vulgar chants over the mic. Directed at Rory. Really? This is what this has come to? Pathetic.
