Yep, I didn't really need him last week, but I loved the 20 PPR points tonight. Teamed with Gore, made for a nice Thursday night, which is normally bad for FF. The other great part is he now has a week and a half to rest/get back in shape. If their D keeps playing like this, Foster is going to be great in PPR.I'll take this. Should finish with 20ish in ppr. Good first real game back.
This^tore his groin off the bone. 2nd game in 5 days. He's not back at peak condition yet.
I was hoping he'd have a little more 'juice' right away and put up RB1 stats out of the gate, but I wouldn't write him off for the season because he's sluggish his first 2 games back.

Still quite good but he looks slower. You can see that he's lost a step right? Maybe as he gets into game shape he'll get it back but I have some doubts and when you couple it with his injury history I wouldn't be so sure.Rushing wasn't there tonight but looked great receiving except for the int. He'll get there. He's a workhorse. Top 10 from here on out.
I don't know that he's lost a step. He looked to me like a guy who's running a bit tentatively because he just had groin surgery 2 months ago. I would be tentative too if I recently had my crotch violated. My guess is that when he is confident that the repair is 100%, he'll start running 100%. Wouldn't be surprised if we see a lot more burst next week. I was not discouraged at all by Foster's performance tonight.Still quite good but he looks slower. You can see that he's lost a step right? I agree with this post. One thing that I saw that was a bit concerning was that he took some massive shots unnecessarily and he came up slow a few times without being hit. This might be a proverbial "sell high" before the inevitable happens again. Not a bad ppr night. Did not look explosive. The was a run he bounced out to the left, and looked like if he turned on the jets he could have gotten around the corner. Instead, he was just kind of jogging and tries to spilt two defenders and just kind of fell over. Hopefully the longer break before the next game gets him even healthier.
Don't think he's 100% yet, but I did like seeing the passion. He looked like he wanted to play and be in the game which is a good thing.
I'm still waiting for Fred Taylor to come back from his week to week "of the bone" tear in '00 (or was it '01?)He didn't freaking tear it off the bone.tore his groin off the bone. 2nd game in 5 days. He's not back at peak condition yet.

agreed...I thought the same. If he catches that very catchable ball that went for an int he likely scores on that play or the next two touches inside the 5 and he ends up with a very solid night. He's one of a very few 3 down goal line backs that will dominate the touches. As long as he can stay on the field he'll put up numbers like last night with sporatic td's. Very happy with my 8th round pick.I don't know that he's lost a step. He looked to me like a guy who's running a bit tentatively because he just had groin surgery 2 months ago. That is also an overriding concern to me. The Texans are a bad team - was hoping they would have won last night to keep pace in the division and at least give the impression they are still in it.He will be fine until Houston is 2-9 and they either shut him down or drastically cut his workload.
when has that ever happened? the guy is paid millions to play football. People spend thousands to buy season tickets...you can't just tank. People's jobs are on the line...from the GM to the coach..regardless of your record you have to go out there every week and put your best product on the field and try and win games. That is also an overriding concern to me. The Texans are a bad team - was hoping they would have won last night to keep pace in the division and at least give the impression they are still in it.He will be fine until Houston is 2-9 and they either shut him down or drastically cut his workload.
If the losses pile up, at what point does the team decide not to further risk their franchise RB in a lost season?
I know what you mean zam, but with Foster and that logic, he would never play. EverThat is also an overriding concern to me. Its not going to happen because Foster isn't a 26 year old guy. He's closer to the end than being part of the future. With his contract/age, etc, the Texans have more real-life financial incentive to play him and put butts in the seats and sell beer than they do to moth ball him and talk about next season. That is also an overriding concern to me. Not saying if he's healthy, but if he gets banged up again and they want to rest him. Not thinking week 11 or 12 either, but maybe as you get to the fantasy playoffs.when has that ever happened? the guy is paid millions to play football. People spend thousands to buy season tickets...you can't just tank. Look at MJD all those years, he was their franchise back and they won between 2 and 5 games it seemed every year and he was trotted out every week just as Foster will be unless he's injured.
He's 29 years old. Next year he will be a dinosaur in Rb age. Plus he is brittle as ****! You think that the texans really care about running him ragged? I don't.That is also an overriding concern to me. This logic never makes sense. You are thinking in terms of your fantasy team. Do you realize someone pays this guy millions of dollars every year in non-fake money to be a part of a real world business that generates millions and millions of dollars and that part of what brings those millions and millions in the door is dependent on having Foster out there generating interest? He's 29 years old. 20 pts without burst. And that was without the team getting inside the five. Add a few TDs and you have a RB1. Not sure what you were expecting. The burst is gone. 29. It's understandable. Still some good games to be had but you better hold your breath.
no kidding, especially considering all those guys out there "with burst" are only putting up about 17-18.20 pts without burst. And that was without the team getting inside the five. Add a few TDs and you have a RB1. Not sure what you were expecting. The burst is gone. 29. It's understandable. Still some good games to be had but you better hold your breath.
I was expecting him to look better than he did. But if your argument is just going to fall back on this "20 points is 20 points!" thing then we are talking about two different things. After all, aren't we trying prognosticate in FF? Looking forward what do you see on the horizon? I simply don't see the same RB, that's all. That's not to say he won't have some fine games ahead but I would not paint the rosiest of pictures after what I saw last night. He doesn't face Indy every week. And we all know he's a risky player to begin with.20 pts without burst. And that was without the team getting inside the five. Add a few TDs and you have a RB1. my scoring system doesn't know the difference. only knows to put 20 points next my starting RB's name.2 yards per carry is 2 yards per carry.20 pts is 20 pts.
Add a few TDs and you have close to THE RB1 in any given week. He was a RB1 last night without the TDs and with minimal red zone opportunities.20 pts without burst. And that was without the team getting inside the five. Add a few TDs and you have a RB1. Not sure what you were expecting. The burst is gone. 29. It's understandable. my scoring system only knows to put 0 points next to him the first four weeks.my scoring system doesn't know the difference. only knows to put 20 points next my starting RB's name.2 yards per carry is 2 yards per carry.20 pts is 20 pts.

... As long as he can stay relatively healthy, Foster is the RB1 he's consistently been for the last 5 years.
You started Foster the first four weeks? You raise some valid concerns, but you're reaching here.my scoring system only knows to put 0 points next to him the first four weeks.my scoring system doesn't know the difference. only knows to put 20 points next my starting RB's name.2 yards per carry is 2 yards per carry.20 pts is 20 pts.
I have a concern of injury. He's getting older and takes a lot of hits. And has a bit of an injury history. Not at all worried about production.I was expecting him to look better than he did. But if your argument is just going to fall back on this "20 points is 20 points!" thing then we are talking about two different things. After all, aren't we trying prognosticate in FF? And with the QBs they're trotting out there it also gives me concern. I would think some teams are going to key on him. And his schedule after the bye doesn't exactly inspire.
@ Cinci, NYJ, NO (good), @ Buff, Pats
I would look to sell him during that bye week.
Let me know who the top 5 RBs in your league have been for 2010-2014. He has been top 5 every year but 2013.Add a few TDs and you have close to THE RB1 in any given week.20 pts without burst. Foster has always scored a bunch of TDs. And gets a lot of yardage on the ground and in the air. Last night showed that it's going to be more of the same. The feed him in the running and passing game. Touchdowns are a crap shoot. Good luck predicting them. You can have a guy like Foster, gaining 118 yards in about 3 quarters of work or you can have last week's Jeremy Hill, only gaining 40 yards but getting three touchdowns. TDs are all about opportunities. A pass interference in the end zone that gives you three shots from the one. Or a nice sustained drive that gets you inside the five. I'll take the guy who's a three down back and gets a ton of yardage over the 40 yard guy where you have to pray he gets some red zone touches.Add a few TDs and you have close to THE RB1 in any given week.20 pts without burst. you started Foster the first four weeks? ugh, you should do more research, he actually didn't play. Honest mistake on your part though. Hope you've weathered the storm cause now you have a guy that routinely puts up top 3-4 points per game. Good luck!my scoring system only knows to put 0 points next to him the first four weeks.my scoring system doesn't know the difference. only knows to put 20 points next my starting RB's name.2 yards per carry is 2 yards per carry.20 pts is 20 pts.
