My take on Biden SOTU
He started out talking like Russia just got beat by Ukraine – they haven’t. Ukraine is being hammered.
“We spent months building a coalition of other freedom-loving nations in Europe and the Americas to the Asian and African continents to confront Putin”
Uh … Joe, that’s been happening for a long time.
“Like many of you, I spent countless hours unifying our European allies. We shared with the world in advance what we knew Putin was planning, and precisely how he would try to falsify and justify his aggression.”
I have spent no hours unifying with European allies. All that planning and …. Russia invaded Ukraine. Guess that planning didn’t work?
“But let me be clear: Our forces are not engaged and will not engage in the conflict with Russian forces in Ukraine.
Our forces are not going to Europe to fight in Ukraine, but to defend our NATO allies in the event that Putin decides to keep moving west.
In other words …. If Russia wants to take the Ukraine the USA won’t stop them. That’s fine – but don’t give a speech like we’re going to thwart Russia then turn around and say uh, yeah … we’re not really going to thwart Russia.
“Tonight, I can announce that the United States has worked with 30 other countries to release 60 million barrels of oil from reserves around the world.But I want you to know that we are going to be OK. We are going to be OK.”
So again my complaint for a long time here – Biden knew this was all coming, he’s said it …. And the plans should have already been laid. Releasing that oil won’t make a hill of beans different IMO.

Here we go ….. those tax cuts helped me and working American’s. The $1400 that was charged to American’s national debt came and went whereas tax cuts last. That 1% Joe – they pay the bulk of incomes taxes, did you know ?

Sounds very Trump-ish doesn’t it? Joe and Democrats are not known for buy American, support American” …. And I’m not buying it. Sorry Joe you cannot claim Make American Great Again
“Inflation is robbing them of the gains they thought otherwise they would be able to feel. I get it. That’s why my top priority is getting prices under control.“
Again, 50 years experience …. He should have see this coming and had a plan in place. He doesn’t, he’s lost.

I think I have a better idea to fight inflation.
Lower your cost, not your wages.

What? Literally nobody says drive down wages fights inflation. Lowering costs …. You can’t do that Joe when you and your party have labored hard to increase wages. When you do that, you increase costs for goods and services – driving everyone’s costs UP. Good gawd Joe
All the talk on lowering prices – that’s unrealistic with all the demands for increase in wages. You cannot get companies to sell their goods and services for less when labor and energy costs are soaring. I mean even a simple guy like me understands that

They do Joe – and if you tax them MORE they will increase the costs of their goods and services MORE. Costs go UP not DOWN

Adding trillions to the national debt Joe – talk more about that please. All that spending on infrastructure and covid fighting money and funding Ukraine … where is all that money coming from ?

That’s worked brilliantly in cities that have done that – hasn’t it ? ☹

After how many hundreds of thousands dead on your watch Joe ? some people would say a president with that many dead on their watch should resign

Oh Joe … your party is going to hate that and why are you saying this now and not 18 months ago when you were running for office?

There is no such thing as gun violence. There is violence, and violent people use weapons. People on terror lists don’t buy guns, shouldn’t even be in the USA though to be honest. There are no “assault” weapons, that too is a catch phrase lie that needs to stop. Why ban 100 round magazines? Literally nobody uses them in crimes.
Its scare tactics, it would literally not reduce crimes at all, the above and remember all the funding for Ukraine? I bet a lot of money will be spent on “assault weapons” for our Ukraine friends. Think about it
