My school dressed me up in black face in about 3rd grade to play the part of Jim in the Tom Sawyer whitewashed fence scene.

 I had no idea how offensive it was - they used shoe polish.  There was at least one black kid in our class.

 
I ordered some wireless headphones from the Skullcandy website - free shipping and 50% off, the same deal they have in retail stores today without the mayhem.

 
Looking at getting headphones and there were some interesting deals posted here.  I am debating between these 2.  Any recommendations?

I generally prefer ear buds because they are less expensive and much smaller so I can put them in my pocket when not using them.  You can't with these because of the collar, though.  Also considering the below Sony headphones, but not sure how it's better than the Skullcandy headphones:

I was going to get the Mrs one of their Paperwhites. Then I saw they came out with a new $50 reader that had decent reviews. Would this be more betterer? She doesn't play games and probably would use it almost exclusively for reading.

Yes.  I have owned a few sennheiser headphones and they are outstanding.  You will likely be blown away. 

 
So all is well that ends well.

went to the Verizon store and was able to upgrade both my phone and my wife's phone to a 7 Plus 128meg and saved $24 a month.

then because I bought two phones I was eligible for $300 off an IPad.  So I got a mini I pad 2 32 meg for $50.  It's $10 a month on my bill going forward but I can take that in no problem.

The Paperwhite is better for extended reading sessions than a color LCD screen.  The display is easier on the eyes but I acknowledge another reason is that it's effectively a dedicated device.  If I'm using the Kindle app on my iPad, I'm much more inclined to get distracted by switching to check sports scores or Twitter.

The low end $50 Kindle doesn't have a backlight so if she does a lot of reading in low light conditions, the Paperwhite is probably worth the extra expense.  You can clip a light on the regular Kindle but I have no experience with that.

Wife and children have the on ear Skullcandy and like them a lot.  Good Sound quality and comfortable on the ear.  $49.99 is a very good price for them.  I ordered a set yesterday for my daughter's boyfriend because he was looking for some new ones and were on his Christmas list.  1 child down, 6 more to go.

 
I don't generally participate in Black Friday, but the ABC store was giving 15% off of purchases over $75. I stocked up for the Winter. Turkey, Bulleit Rye, Knob Creek Rye, and a truckload of Evan Williams Bottled in Bond.

Same deal for Cyber Monday.  Order online; pick up at the store.

 
They say to buy stuff you need on Black Friday/Cyber Monday.  I bought a stove, some dress shoes, a dog life preserver, and a dress belt.  Almost pulled the trigger on some new luggage but I'm still looking around, they say buying luggage this weekend is one of the better seasonal buys.  So if anyone comes across anything terrific, drop it in here with an @Drd please.  TIA.

Ordered a Pixel XL 128gb for me and an s7 32gb for her. Nice discounts on the phones, $200 per line to switch to Verizon from Sprint, a supposed $550 tradein value for Note 4, and free 8 inch tablet and samsung vr thing. Well not really free as the tablet is a 3rd line at 10 a month and a 2 year contract. Not sure how much i'll use either of the freebies so i maybe should have declined them but we'll see. Total monthly bill even with the phone payments should be similar to old Sprint bill. Looking forward to hopefully faster speeds after being promised upgrades from Sprint for years which have disappointed.

We switched to Verizon (from tmobile), got $200 each and Pixels for black friday $10 monthly no interest (for 24 months). We were on S3s, so no trade in value.

A little better than the previous buy one, get the other half off sale.

PS4 is on sale for $250.  It comes bundled with games I don't care about, though.  Do you guys think this is the best deal we will see for PS4 anytime soon?  I doubt they will come out with a bundle with sports games or Skyrim so it will come with games I want to play, so if this is the best price I will probably buy it today.
