****Official Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Online deals thread**** (3 Viewers)

we got a new blu ray player for the house over the weekend. today I found the LoTR extended trilogy Blu-ray on amazon for $25.

otherwise, picked up an aqua flosser for my daughter who just got braces for $30 (was $60ish), picked up a veggie grilling pan for myself for $10, a flexible tripod for my daughter's new camera for $10. nothing really big and fancy.

Had my eye on some other things but didn't pull the trigger on them.

Got one of these for my daughter for college and she loves it. Great size and the tablet conversion makes it so versatile.
Snagged one this morning.  Couldn't pass it up...

Pretty sure in have a USB port in the car somewhere.
Not even required - it has an internal battery, so you can charge it up, then cast movies from it to Fire tablets or other devices that can install apps.  If you're on a day-long road trip, you would need to charge it, but it can cast while charging also.  We like ours.

Amazing. Sold. Thanks

FWIW, the company that does the AV in my house offered me the B7 for $2300.  When I told him I'd bought it the night before, he told me they only make about $60 on the TV and it's almost not worth it for them.
TV's have very little mark up because people research the hell out of the TV itself. That's why it was so funny to see people buy a TV and then be upsold on some Monster cables for $100/cable that are $7 on Monoprice. And then the big box stores tried to pull that crap again with 4K. When I bought my 50 inch Visio, they tried to sell me 4K cables for $79.99.

I use to sell TVs and there is very little mark up, especially over Black Friday.  There were years where I only made $10 per TV and even lost money on some.  All accessories are marked up at least 100%.  I use to sell 2 meter HDMI cables for $30 and they cost me $7 yet I was still much cheaper than Best Buy.  Door buster special are lost leader items meant to get customers into the store so they can be sold more things that have bigger margins.

If anyone wants to start a business selling electronics, don't.  It's incredibly competitive and there is very little customer loyalty.

So it broadcasts a wireless network for up to 3 devices?  Is that how it works?  How do the devices see the USB stick?
They see it as a wifi connection.  You need an app to play the movies.  The app is available for Android, Fire, and iOS.

It’s been around for years now, nifty for road trips.

There are other uses we don’t mess with - you can use it as a wifi storage drive and move pictures and stuff there.

I imagine you could use it to house movies and each user could DL to their individual devices too (assuming they have the storage space).  That would allow them to play different movies on demand.

For any Veterans you can now sign up for an account with Military Exchange for some deals and no tax.

I signed up today not expecting anything but found this 55" Samsung 4k TV for $399, which is $180 cheaper than anywhere else.  I bought it.

I bought this smoker a few hours ago.  The price then was 113, but now it's 140ish.  From what I've read it's still a good deal.  I'm a noob at smoking and didn't want to throw down something like 5 hundo on a Smokin It or something quite yet.

I have one for gov employees but all they sell is tactical gear. Now I need to find a vet that will let me use their  credentials for your site.  I've always hear those places have great deals

This may be the first holiday in a decade where we've NOT ordered the majority of our gifts from Amazon. Most other retailers have caught up as far as prices, matching and free shipping. That, and I swear the BF and Cyber Monday deals at Amazon were more of the same warehouse clearing trash they seem to pull during sales.

I felt exactly the same. The 2 purchases I made so far were a pair of head phones and an iPad from Kohls and Adorama? Amazon dropped the jingle ball.

The numbers suggest that you are in the minority.  The jingle bell actually just exploded.

I don't think I bought anything off Amazon this weekend. I was going to buy the sonicare toothbrush but the seller looked sketchy with a 1-30 day delivery. Got the same item 2 day ship +15% off @ target :coffee:

I have the same one. Forgot what I paid for it but you'll love it. It's great for low maintenance smoking while doing yard work.

I also have this one. It's fantastic.

So I ordered that Phillips toothbrush from target. They shipped me two. Should I expect to get charged twice ?order receipt shows the same order# on both. Two seperate shipments. Guessing someone in their warehouse got lazy

Any great deals on a dryer?

Ours takes like 3x as long to dry stuff as it should. Partly because we just got a new, higher capacity washing machine and sometimes load it up. So now we need a high capacity dryer.

Lowe's and home Depot have solid deals now, like $700 for a really good Samsung plus 10% off (military). Is there anything better?

Sure it's the dryer? Make sure the vent is cleaned out.

OK...so leave it to my father to ask me about getting a good deal on a laptop for my mom a week after black friday/Cyber monday.

so anyway....looking to replace my on's old acer (I think) laptop. She needs too to browse the web, save photos on and play sill games like solitaire and other old people games. Looking to spend around $500

Doesn't want to do the chrome books or anything where she needs to save things to the cloud or anything different that would confuse her...they old.

Any recommendations?

Was watching one of those morning shows. They said the 14th usually has deals similar to black Friday so maybe wait it out if you can still have it delivered in time

as far as specs and models I don't know. Acer seems to be a pretty fair model for value

any generic windows computer would work.  But I would really look at chromebooks.  Where does she want to save pictures to?  Chromebooks do have some local storage
...and slots for cards...and USB ports for flash drives...

she a grandma of 6 grandkids. She has lots of photos. I don't think there is enough onboard memory for all her photos.

I really like the Chromebooks, but I think the whole 'cloud thing' freaks her out. I bought her 2 years of back up last christmas  and she's still unsure where all that goes.

I do like the ones that have the touch screen/removable tablet models. Saw one that flipped into an A-frame so she could prop it up to watch movies on when she needs to .
