Yeah, that was definitely creepy, assuming your referring to the flashback drunken encounter...major wtf there.(HULK) said:If you're into taboo stuff, get your tissues ready for the end of that season.Season 2 seems pretty great thus far, five episodes in.
And I know I can't be the only one who finds Gretchen Mol to be sexy as hell.![]()

I have to say though, I was slightly underwhelmed by how the season ended. The build-up was better than the payoff. I can't say I'll be in a big hurry to start S3.
Not enough vampires and werewolves apparentlySomehow I missed the news that HBO canx this show, just found out.![]()
Even if last season wasn't great, it's still better than almost anything on TV. Cost a lot to produce I guess, ####.Not enough vampires and werewolves apparentlySomehow I missed the news that HBO canx this show, just found out.![]()

Last season was pretty bad. Narcisse, Eli's kid, Tampa and Hoover....all horse####We are STILL trying to finish this past season. It's almost impossible. Turned off the 9th episode the other day and watched the food network or something.
It's awful, not sure why you guys like it.
It's made even worse by how good almost every other performer is.Buscemi killed this show. He should be a bit player -- not a leading man.
He's just not captivating.
I could live with him. He was fine the first two seasons. The story lines just flat out suck now.Buscemi killed this show. He should be a bit player -- not a leading man.

Yea the first two years were great and Buschemi was the lead and on plenty. Show died when Jimmy did.Buscemi is plenty fine as the lead, and this show is still done quite well. Writing probably needs some work, but this could have gone on for some time. I think killing Jimmy was the producers biggest mistake, although I'm not sure if it was their decision or his.Buscemi killed this show. He should be a bit player -- not a leading man.

Killing off Munya and Harrell, two of the best characters of the entire show, also seemed kind of stupid. Both are fictional, unlike many of the other characters in the show. Why can't you find characters who really died and go that route? Munya wasYea the first two years were great and Buschemi was the lead and on plenty. It seems they were determined to tell the story that hasn't been told...but still seems like there was a ton of opportunity to do that with Lucky, Rothstein, Lansky, etc.
Can't say, but there are more real life gangsters appearing this year.Dutch Shultz? My friend is on the show this season.

Great actor. I see we disagree on Buscemi, but I would have preferred to see Shea Whigham (Eli) as the lead. The actor who plays Eli is solid btw, underrated I think.
Oh God IMeadow Soprano?Junior Soprano? Can't say, but there are more real life gangsters appearing this year.Dutch Shultz? My friend is on the show this season.
that womanHe was just so charismatic, the kind of actor that you just couldn't take your eyes off of. It made sense to kill him off, but it was detrimental in the long run. I didn't like where they took Owen's story, he was really mishandled. He was a heat character.Killing Jimmy probably ruined things but at that point in the story it was warranted IMO.![]()
Jimmy, Owen, and Horowitz are prime examples of why the instant shock value of killing off a character people like isn't a good thing in the long run.He was just so charismatic, the kind of actor that you just couldn't take your eyes off of. I'd say the say the same except swap Richard Harrell for Manny.Jimmy, Owen, and Horowitz are prime examples of why the instant shock value of killing off a character people like isn't a good thing in the long run.I like Buscemi and I'm glad he's been rewarded with a lead role after carving out a solid supporting career, but he's not a heat seeker like those three were.He was just so charismatic, the kind of actor that you just couldn't take your eyes off of. Game of Thrones cycles through a massive amount of characters. I guess that's different because the cast is so huge.Yeah Owen is another good example. Plenty of gangsters died in the 1920s, you could have killed off a bunch of people connected to AC that actually died. Boardwalk Empire producers have created great fictional characters, then killed them off too soon. Seems like that is shtick, because I'm not sure I can think of another show that has done this.
