Rothstein and Lanksy have very little name recognition.
I completely disagree with this. Historically speaking they both have great name recognition and when people think 1920s/30s gangsters, Lansky is at the forefront. Rothstein did something quite unique in this country's history, he almost single-handedly fixed the World Series. He's easily one of the most known gamblers ever. If people don't know who Lansky and Rothstein are they don't know the time period. Those same people don't know who Harding or Coolidge are either. F. Scott Fitzgerald doesn't have name recognition? Charles Lindbergh? Dunno. But if you don't know who F. Scott Fitzgerald or Charles Lindberg are you probably never paid attention in school. Doesn't mean those guys don't have name recognition. You are giving way too much credit to the average American, or maybe, too little.
