@duvalmagic will be releasing key codes at 6 and 11 Central and sometime tomorrow. For all the geeks like me in this thread it's a must follow. My brother has 6 keys already and I've gotten 4.
Can you use a key more than once per character? I've been told that once the box is open, it stays open.
No each key can only be used once period. Switching characters will not bring them back.

The box does not stay open. It returns to a locked after you save and quit waiting for you to use a new key if you have one.
 
I was comparing two purple guns last night and I noticed that the color of the purple was significantly different between the two. One was very light purple and one was very dark purple.And then I remembered in the first game that I think the orange weapons also came in different shades which related to their rarity level.Does Borderlands 2 have a shading difference for the more rare guns?
Not that I know of. Maybe two different people worked on the gun stats and used a different palette.
It looks like there is a difference. The slightly different colored purple (magentaish) represent the Etech guns.

This was the answer I was looking for. I knew that once a key was used, it's used. But I wondered whether if I had 3 keys and use 1, can I use another with that same character, or is the other keys only good for another character.

Ugh. Screw it. I don't have twitter and have to surf sites to get them. Getting to the point of not being worth the hassle.

Another set of codes was released at midnight est. you have another 35 minutes to redeem.
Boy, I got this down pat. Missed the 6 pm code yesterday by three minutes. Was in bed before the 11 pm code came out. Got up this morning, and the 5 am code ended 10 minutes ago. Bleh. There's an 11 am and 3 pm CST code today. Maybe I can catch one of those.So is the Pitchford twitter page useless now for codes? Will they just be appearing on Gearbox?
 
Anyone run into Jimmy Jenkins or Donky Mong yet?

I got Jenkins to pop in Opportunity but have not had any luck with finding Donkey Mong who randomly appears in the Eridium Blite

 
OK, so whats the deal with the Grenade damage?

Grenade A:

1,459 damage

+264 fire damage

Grenade B

903 x 7 damage

So Grenade A does roughly 1,700 damage at first contact

Grenade B does 6,301 damage?

I don't think that is right. I think Grenade B just splits the damage up into smaller chunks of the 903. So in other words it's actually 903 divided by 7?

I think four straight days of couch time ("resting my back") and looking at constantly changing numbers has me :loco:

My Xbox turns off after an hour and I also turn it off if I have a crappy slots session. :lol:
 
Used a golden key a little while ago and got an absurdly good explosive rifle. It kills level 30 robots in like 3 shots

Maybe it won't apply more than one grenade to any single target? So no single target gets more than 900 damage. Or the splash from the MIRVs is extremely small?

Im assuming you're level 30?I did one at level 22 or so and got a gorgeous pistol. 362 damage, ridiculously high fire rate and 60 round clips. It feels, looks and sounds like a high powered mac 10. :gang2:

Did mine at 21 and got a SMG that does fire damage. Good enough to keep, better than what I had. But nothing ridiculously overpowered. It did help me punk the big boss at the end of the Caustic Caverns (giant Crystalid). Made that battle super easy.Speaking of which, I had no shot against the Badass Fire Worm thing there when trying to get the 4th tape. I could never get it below 50% health no matter what weapon I used. After I gave up, I did another mission that took me under ground (mine cart one). Ended up going through some doors and stumbled on the tape without having to fight the thing. That was nice!
 
Holy ####balls that ending was hard, TLEF. I'll definitely need help when I do it. Hopefully it won't take us three times to finish it next time. (no, we only wish I meant "die three times")

Used my first key. Only got two purple slagged grenades. Didn't care for them over my current, so I guess I got money instead.

I'm guessing the final boss would be easier with only 1 person playing. I believe the bosses (and everything else) scale based on how many players you have.But yes, that sucked. I was a little bummed with the loot drop at the end. A few decent guns, but mostly white weapons. Pretty lame.And yes, its pretty lame when the last mission glitches twice and you have to re-play the whole thing (minus the boss battle, thank god).

What level did you start the second play through on?

Did you complete all the side missions? I feel like I still have a ways to go for the first play through (maybe 15%) and I am already at level 33.
My son finished it at level 36.
 
The Slaughterhouse is one of the most difficult things I've seen in either game. I got through the first 4 stages pretty easily and stage 5 is kicking my ###. Level 27 commando so I should be able to smoke through but alas.

Agreed. I think we got stuck at 4 the other day.

I had a different experience with the slaughter house. I found the first three levels extremely hard. I think I died an average of maybe 8 times in each level. But then it all got easier for me and I completed level 4 and level 5 in one try each (and those are 4 and 5 waves each respectively). I finished around level 25. What worked for me was to use the Goliaths against every one else. Do not waste bullets on anyone other than the Goliaths. Shoot just one of them and then stay far away. Not only does this make your risk less, it saves significantly on ammo which is crucial in levels 4 and 5. On levels with out Goliaths, only move if Phycho's are around else just hide behind the pipes on the right relative to when you enter the arena and just snipe at will.

Ok that is more where I expect to be. Did your son get all of the explorer trophies or did he have to hunt around for areas that the missions may not send you to?
 
Anyone know where to get the Rare Loot Relic?
I've been looking for it too. Only one I've read about is the Sheriff's Badge relic. Pretty sure it drops from the Sheriff in Lynchwood. Not sure if you have to get it on the mission or not.Finally got a jackpot on the slots. Got a nice sniper rifle. Jacobs Siah-Siah Skullmasher. No elemental damage, but has more power than my other sniper rifle with corrosion, so it'll be my backup sniper for now.

I went back after collecting some cash (totally different session) and tipped the b*tch $50k (all I had to be honest) and got NOTHING. Is there a trick to it? Do you have to tip a grand then talk to her? I just kept clicking tip and waiting for her to give me a weapon but nothing ever happened other than a few "you are sweet" comments or some such crap. Was I just tipping the tip jar to quickly or something? I can't imagine for only the second weapon, and at level 22, that $50k wasn't enough!

NR, I'll have to ask him. Stand by...

 
I have been reading that the Hyperion Salughterhouse is significantly more difficult than the Fink's creature Slaughter House. The Hyperion Salughterhouse level 5 has 7 waves to deal with. Must be an ammo nightmare.

From most of the suggestions I have read, it is recommended if you are going to try it solo to first build your character up significantly more in play through 2 and then hop back into play through one with the stronger character and attempt it then.

Yes. 3 Borderlands vault symbols.
Also 3 eridium. I'd guess 3 bells too but never had the bells or borderland symbols.

I don't know about trophies. He said he did all the side missions with the exception of any of the timed ones. He found most on his own but, if he had an undiscovered mission and couldn't find it, he would use the web to get the location and then go do it. So basically, he did nearly all the side missions.

Ok thanks. I found the timed ones to be annoying as well but usually pushed through them. I am going to try and complete every mission as I am a bit of a trophy whore. I still can't get Donkey Mong to spawn :kicksrock:

Gotten triple 3 eridium before too. It rains out single eridiums. I'm guessing around 8 or 10 (ok, I guess it's 12). Never gotten 3 bells or 3 marcus's yet. I got another jackpot last night after I posted that. Got an orange pistol with high corrosion damage, which I guess was ok. meh.

This is why I love my class mod. I automatically gain more ammo for any weapon I'm holding (minus RPG and grenades). I worried that it wouldn't keep up with my firing, but it usually keeps me full without seeking out ammo. Now, if it worked for grenades too, I'd never look for ammo.
