Haven't used one yet but my understanding is that when your shield is fully charged, your next shot at enemy will get bonus damage = to the amp damage of the shield. This will drain your shield = to the amp drain amount. Then your shield needs to regen to fully charged before dealing another amp bonus damage shot. Make sense?

oof...so basically it is worthless to anybody who isn't a sniper/zero.

As a sniper, I still don't like the sound of it. I don't need my shield draining on me in the middle of a firefight!

Interestingly, the Bee shield which is an amp shield is said to be the most powerful object in the game for any character. Many have said with out it, there is almost no way to solo Terramorpheus.

Just finished the first playthrough with my Zero sniper build. Decided to farm The Bee for my second playthrough. Took about 35 times killing Hunter Whatshisname, but wow, that is an incredible shield. When I am at full shields I am sniping things for upwards of 30K on a critical. Love The Bee. It is the absolute best item I have found so far.I really would love to co-op with some of you guys. I am on Xbox and I am on many nights after 7:00 Pacific Time. I have no problem sharing loot and am just starting the second playthrough if anyone needs some to co-op with. Gamertag is gmanx23.

So is this a second playthrough only item?By the way, I just got done collecting all the pieces so I can get past the shield or whatever at Handsome Jack's place (just killed the body double, got the voice samples, etc and so on). How close am I to getting through this thing? Currently at level 27. The only non-timed sequence side mission I have left is cutting down Jack's statues. Other than that, it's main quest only remaining.

The better question is if the DLC enemies scale to the level you are or if they have a set level like in the original until the very end of play through 2. The answer to this varies when you should do the DLC greatly because it could mess with the balance of the normal game otherwise.

Actually, you can get it on either playthrough. I got it on the first playthrough. It is leveled depending on where you are. The Bee that I got was only level 28, but it is still great. The level 50 one is insane. If you want someone to finish the game with, hit me up. You dont have much left. Your next mission will take you to the end of the game. There are still like 3 areas left to go through, and they are fun. Lots of stuff to kill.

I believe you're 2 main quests away, IIRC.
 
By the way, I didn't catch it during my first playthrough, but Ellie is Moxxi's daughter? How old is Moxxi supposed to be?

Yes, Ellie is Scooters sister and Moxxi's daughter. I am not sure how old Moxxi is but she could be in her mid 40's.General Knox did say "That woman in the clown makeup trying not to look 40" in BL1.

Found another side mission. Basically go to Lynchburg(wood?) and kill 100 bandits, 25 each using Fire, Explosive, Shock and Corrosive. Made me realize I didn't have any good shock weapons. Picked up a shock pistol off a drop, and had kept a sniper rifle that was fairly weak but used shock. The weak sniper rifle was good because it made me really bear down and pull off crits to the head. So, one hundred less bandits in Lyncburg or Lynchwood, whatever it is.

Oh, and used another gold key at level 28. Guess I am going to find out about amp shields because I got one, and it is the best base shield I have. So I'm currently using it. I did the whole mission above and never even noticed if my shield dropped when I pulled off the shot or whatever. ugh. I'm such a doof.

 
Bleh, figured out I may have missed quite a few side missions. When I knew a bounty board had timed missions, I would just ignore the exclamation point there. What didn't occur to me is that other missions might show up and I would be missing them. Figured this out reading through a side quest page yesterday. So, back to several areas to check out all the bounty boards to see what I might have missed. Kind of glad actually. Gives the game some more legs before i have to tackle the final three areas.

I am finding it harder myself. I just went through the ultra long rescue Roland mission and it took forever. I am a tiny bit away from level 42.I think one of the reasons it is harder is that you can never seem to get ahead of the missions. The majority of the missions in the first play through I was about 4 levels above the intended level of the mission. In play through 2 I don't seem to ever be more than 1 or 2 levels above the intended level of the mission.

So I didn't get to this thread or check twitter and I'm 2ish hours late and I have to wait and DL an update. Crap.

 
So, yesterday I finished the 3:10 to Kaboom mission and the gunfight with the sheriff. After that, I fast traveled to every single area to see what other side quests I might have missed. Apparently, I got them all, except the Statue one in Opportunity, which is now blocked for some reason even though I can still travel there. So I guess I have no choice but to continue on the main quest. I just made level 29.

Missed all the codes last night due to Shift being down. Then missed today's first one because I didn't see it in time. Some times I wish they'd stop with the codes since 90% of the time I just end up pissed off because I missed them.

 
Another code dead in under and hour. Man, I wish I had no life like these losers so I could sit and do nothing but play video games and watch for codes all ####### day.

 
I'm with you guys I got 1 outta the last 4. Sucks for us that work in the Eastern Time Zone. I managed to score the one after shift was down but that's it.

I am at our house in Utah and can't sign into xbox live because I can't remember the email address I used to register.

 
Got tired of standing on twitter waiting for Shift Codes to drop, so I found an app that pushes twitter notifications by individual account to an iphone or ipad. It's called Boxcar, and while it's currently available only for ios, it's certainly a nifty little tool. Only took a couple minutes to create an account and set up a notification service for @duvalmagic. Now, whenever he drops a tweet, I get a pushed notification and alarm.

App is free, too ... which is nice.
