Well, the day has come.
(But wait, I feel like it came last year when he went for 86 carries, 446 yards (5.2 ypc), 3 TD, 24 catches, 187 yards, 2 TD in 6 games, or 14 carries, 74 yards, .5 TD, 4 catches, 32 yards, .33 TD, or 19.6 in PPR leagues.)
Spiller's a cat I drafted high in rookie drafts (behind Dez, but ahead of Mathews), and I can't say that I wasn't a bit nervous about his workload this year. To me, it's never been a question of can he do it if given the opportunity. I expected this season would be Fred early, with Spiller getting nearly 50% of the work come the last 6 games when the Bills really needed to decide if they were going to pick up Fred's contract this off-season.
For nearly three years I've received lowballs offers to deal Spiller as if he was simply a cuff to Fred Jackson, or as if I were an idiot that didn't actually watch football games. But no. I do watch football. And Spiller to me has always appeared to be one the 10 most talented RBs in the game(not just speed, he's got it at the LOS as well).
The reason I speak now is that I understand I won't be able to buy Spiller in the 5% of my leagues where I do not currently own (it wasn't without years of "overpaying" offers, but his owners wouldn't cave with me). I didn't speak earlier as I always hold out hope that, in that 5%, I will be able to get a trade down buying Spiller at even an aggressive RB12 value as compared to the market. It didn't happen and it sure won't now. That's alright, most that know me know that 95% of leagues is solid %.
Folks, this kid is pure pimp, and there are certainly not 5 dynasty RBs I'd rather own in a PPR format. I'm expecting 80 yards rush at just over 5 per, .65 TD, 4.5 catches, 40 yards, .25 TD per week, or 22 PPG in PPR.
