I’m way behind in this thread so not sure if anyone here has experienced any Covid-19 symptoms but I’m currently in bed with something that is laying waste to my energy and strength.

Had a dry cough all day Monday that went away Tuesday. Tuesday I felt perfectly fine.

Woke up yesterday with a mild head ache and stuffy nose but otherwise felt fine. Finished my work at home day and as I walked my from basement office to our kitchen I was completely winded and had no strength. I was instantly exhausted.   I laid on the couch and stayed there the rest of the night. Woke up this morning feeling a little better and thought I’d log into work. Walking downstairs to my office took all my energy. I logged into work to tell my boss that I’m going back to bed.

Just finished a Video appointment with my doctor who told me to stay home, use my inhalers and take Tylenol as needed. He advised that if I’m short of breath to get to the ER.

Right now my primary symptom is exhaustion with minor head ache and some minor chest discomfort when I take a deep breath. Otherwise breathing normally.

Don't know what I have right now but it has wiped  me out. My concern right now is @davidLat Twitter. His COVID-19 symptoms at first sound similar to mine and he’s now in the hospital. He’s a lot healthier than I and I have asthma. Keeping my fingers crossed that I just caught a bug unrelated to C-19.

I will post the occasional update. Back to bed.

Our WFH just got extended through next week, to nobody's surprise.  I get why they want to take things week-by-week, but we wasted a bunch of time and mental energy planning for a return to our offices on Monday which we all knew were probably going to be moot anyway.

What's your temperature?

Doctor's office just moved my April 15th appointment to April 29th, lady was talking like everything would be fine by then, just a couple weeks.  lol

most of the items im ordering are non perishable and ill simply glove - place the box in my garage and open it in 10+ days when i actually need it. by that time it should be safe to handle. plus they said it doesnt live as long on cardboard type material
Same strategy... incoming mail and packages sit for days unless there's some reason they need to be opened.

Drop the snowflake talk. This thread is meant to be helpful for everyone. If that's not something you want to be part of, please don't post.
Why is it ok to call people racist but not snowflakes? I didn't see you warn a single person about the former.

During the Thai-cave-diving rescue in 2018, Elon Musk interjected himself by talking about how he has a mini-submarine that the rescuers could use to get everyone out. One of the world cave-diving experts (probably 1 of a half-dozen at his level in the world) that was on the ground in Thailand kindly (initially) asked Musk to stand aside and that his mini-sub would not be needed. After a little more back and forth, Musk proceeded to slander the guy on Twitter and deliver his mini-sub to Thailand anyway. IIRC, his mini-sub was still too big to fit through some of the bottlenecks they needed to get the kids through ... so Musk's sub was never used, and indeed was never seriously considered by the rescuers.
Wasn't this the twitter thing that devolved into Musk calling the diver a pedophile?
I can't believe he got away with that
Yes, you're thinking of the same incident. That really did roll off of Musk's back. He got some Twitter-dung heaped on him for a few days and that was it.

My wife is downstairs calling her students/parents right now (1st grade teacher). Just listening to her keep a cheery, positive attitude, listening to what the kiddos are doing at their houses, touching base and explaining how things are going to proceed from here forward…

   Just makes me smile a bit.

Yeah he wants to tweak the Chinese government that hid this ####### virus from the world for over a month but yeah let's all get offended at the word used instead of the real culprits in this case.
When people look back on the actions of the Chinese government when this thing broke, it's not going to be pretty.  Chinese doctors that wanted to tell the world were silenced (or worse), research and findings were destroyed, etc.  Their actions delayed the world's response to fighting this virus, and undoubtedly caused more deaths than there would have been.

I have no problem reminding the world where this thing started and the Chinese governments gross negligence toward the well-being of the rest of the planet.

If it makes people feel better to say the Chinese Government Virus, I'll sign that petition.

How dare you!?!?

Italy numbers today:

New Cases: 5,322

New deaths: 427

Total cases: 41,035

Total deaths:3,405
Sweet Mother of God ... The situation in Italy the past days breaks my heart. And terrifies me for what could play out in the US in the weeks ahead.

Chanel Rion previously reported that the #coronavirus was created in a lab in North Carolina, citing a “monitored source” who was just a guy on Twitter @-tagging her on his conspiracy theories.

if looking for silver lining, the rate of growth per day for Italy has been 8 to 14% per day for the last week vs. 25 to 30% during March 8th thru 12th.

Just got off the phone with Ticketmaster for a show that has been postponed indefinitely. The venue has a no refund policy, and they aren't budgeting. They are choosing to ride things out and then see if they can reschedule all their events . . . which probably won't help us any as we were going to be there on that particular day. Wonder how long they will keep our money to then tell us we can't get our money back . . . a year?

I've been saying we should call it "Wet Market Virus" to give more attention to what creates these things.  The facts are though that it came from China and the China government and a certain segment of the Chinese population are responsible for allowing Wet Markets and making it legal to farm wild animals for these markets.  Holding China responsible for this ia an agenda I'm firmly behind.
how are you positive of the origin?

my understanding is that "experts" aren't.

some suggest it may have been bio engineered.

Wrong thread for me to respond on this.  But damn.

I just saw your post. There are ten thousand today I won't see.

Drop anything that's not helpful. Full stop. If that's not, stop posting.

I don't have one more second to use on this.

Best of luck overcoming the bug, regardless of which it may be.

I had a similar bug about 3 weeks ago where it had weird, rolling symptoms. Fever Thursday/Friday, none Sat/Sun but was back to a fever Monday. Sniffles/sore throat and wiped out Friday/Sat but that cleared by Monday. Some stomach upset (nausea, runs) Mon/Tues and pretty fatigued again. Obviously not anything that lead to Dr. visit or hospital and fine now. I have asthma, as well. Hope you see similar recovery.

As the owner of a ticketing company I can tell you that Ticketmaster/Live Nation is overrun with this.  They are pretty well hated in my industry but there are so many cancellations it has locked the system up.  They are having trouble recouping funds from their sources to then refund just on those events.  On postponed events, nobody is doing anything yet because until it's officially cancelled, they cannot contractually recoup what they paid for the tickets.  If they reschedule the event and you can't go, ultimately they are going to tell you to resell the tickets.

A French medical laboratory has said it is ready to give the French authorities “millions of doses” of an anti-malaria medication that early tests have suggested may help cure Covid-19.

French manufacturer Sanofi has said it could hypothetically offer enough doses of Plaquenil - a drug containing the molecule hydroxychloroquine - to treat up to 300,000 people if necessary.

They arent seeing a disruption of income though are they?
That is not really the point of a "stimulus" - the idea is to put cash in the hands of consumers, so they will go out and spend it, and bring businesses back to life.

Most salaried people are not going to see a disruption of income - but its still important to get the cash in their hands also.

Text I just got: (and it’s prolly just nonsense/hyperbole)

Heads up, a friend in the Maryland National Guard said to go buy anything needed before 5pm today.  Expect stuff to be complete lockdown.

I give it 70% of being right.  He just got activated for full-time duty two days ago ... somethings up.

Well we're a hundred percent certain it started in China. And a very very high probability that it originated similar to SARS whether that be on purpose or not.

Can we fight about the naming of this virus somewhere else?  Too much needed info/serious issues to bug down this thread with it.

Musk should do more like Chinese billionaire Jack Ma -- work quietly behind the scenes, then only make an announcement when positive action is imminent. Ma was behind the delivery of 1,000,000 COVID test kits to the U.S. earlier this week.
Great post.  Jack Ma is a great example of how to help people as a billionaire.  America's business leaders have not really done much.  Must is, despite his intelligence, pretty much a hack on a lot of things anyways...

Was told two days ago the NG is being called up to PROTECT grocery stores

The virus has a ####### name. Call this behavior racist or whatever you want, but if you call it the "Chinese virus", "kung flu" or anything besides it's name you obviously have an agenda and want to tweak people. That's it.

This conversation can't go on in here or people are going to get banned (on either side of the argument). I posted tweets in here just yesterday from Asian Americans suffering in their everyday lives due to people ignorantly spreading racism and fear via this tactic. It's effecting real people as other Americans who are scared and hateful look for an outlet for their anger.

You may not know you're doing it. You are. Stop it.
Wish I had more likes to give this

Semi-good news on the home front - Mrs. SF has finally been approved for testing.

She still has tightness in her chest and shortness of breath - and with the potential for covid-19 - she did not get a steroid treatment initially.  So, now she can get some clarity, and hopefully, if the test is negative, better treatment for her symptoms.

I am in management in a Health District in the DC metro area. We know nothing. Don’t take anything I post about Covid-19 seriously because I am likely making it all up

Ticketmaster is pretty evil, TBH

Obviously people look at things differently based on their own situation.

To me this stimulus reaches all the people that have seen a disruption that unemployment and sick leave policies wont reach. People like me, tim, and roboto.

It will also help boost the economy.

Nothing says a stimulus has to reach everybody. It certainly isnt in any definition of it.
