unless we go full China-mode and shut everything down, i'm doubting it.I was worried about my son's little league season being canceled but with it starting in mid april I think we'll start returning to normalcy by then.

Yeah those things suck when kids activities get cancelled. Son’s last two big drum competitions were cancelled. Sucks for them after months and a ton of hours of practice. But get it when the big WGI competition has thousands of kids from schools from all over the country and 3-4 other countries.I was worried about my son's little league season being canceled but with it starting in mid april I think we'll start returning to normalcy by then.
Well they were probably worried that if you did happen to have Covid 19–that their entire office/facility might be compromised. This is actually really concerning in my opinion. People that need medical attention should be able to get it this early in the game. Identifying the cases is one of the only ways to stop its spread. Was asked specifically to not come in by my GP yesterday. Though they didn't say, they wouldn't see me they requested not to. It was odd.
Today, nothing at all, no fever. Took a round of OTC meds this morning but totally fine. Actually best day since about day 6, or perhaps day -1.You match the Covid-19 progression almost perfectly. What's your cough like now? Are you still unable to hack anything up?
I had about the same thing over Christmas. Felt like sleeping 23 hrs a day, diarrhea (although not crippling), low grade fever, some coughing. Day 5 I went to urgent care, doc gave me antibiotics, cough suppressant and an inhaler if needed. Within 2 days was feeling better but still took a while to get back to 100%. Was tested for the flu but they said I didn't have it. Sure as hell felt like it but they said no. Good luckOk here's a run-down of my symptoms. You tell me if this fits with narrative
Week of 2/24 - Exposed to people coming back from West China after their 14 day quarantine
Day 0 2/24 - First day with upper respiratory symptoms. Began OTC medicine treatment in day and before bed
Symptoms continue, and get worse/better over next 8 days. some days have zero symptoms at all.
Day 11 3/8 3/9 - Crippling Diarrhea. I mean crippling. Started Immodium. still coughing
3/11 - Low fever 99.4 stayed home more OTC. Tried to get flu test (not COV test) was declined. Fever too low
Day 17 Today 3/12 - Staying home, OTC medicine working fine, feel much better cough gone.
Throughout this have had - Minimal if any runny nose. At times extreme chest tightness. Coughing is non productive, meaning can't get any crap out. Fatigued. Needing a lot of coffee.

Understood. Sorry if that doesn't work for you.Seems short sighted. Humor is a stress relief mechanism for some, similar to prayer. As long as people are not posting fake news under the banner of humor I can't see what harm there is in cracking a few jokes.
It's probably better for mild cases like this to not go in until they start getting worse. More important for that individual to self quarantine for the time being and do everything they can not to spread it.Well they were probably worried that if you did happen to have Covid 19–that their entire office/facility might be compromised. This would make sense if testing was available elsewhere, like a drive through or something...Well they were probably worried that if you did happen to have Covid 19–that their entire office/facility might be compromised. Despite the joke at the end, this appears to be true.Gillian Turner @GillianHTurner
BREAKING: The World Health Organization has announced that dogs cannot contract Covid-19. Dogs previously held in quarantine can now be released. To be clear, WHO let the dogs out.
i have teledoc, through Aetna, which is phone or online or teh Skype - not horrible. Can you do online doctor visit? That’s what Blue Cross is recommending here in Michigan. We have that option available through my employer and it works great.

Culdeus's account sounded like he was receiving very crude telemedicine ... basically talking about his symptoms over the phone and then getting advice based on his situation. Not ideal for everyone, but I guess they kind of triaged culdeus over the phone. It's probably better for mild cases like this to not go in until they start getting worse. Too bad in times like this that we have to worry about someone's ego getting in the way of a good idea like this. Decades ago, the United States took in ex-Nazi scientists to work on our defensive arsenal. I guarantee the current CIC would never consider a Liberal for any position, no matter how dire the circumstances. Some talking head suggested Trump get Bill Gates to head up the CV response.
Brilliant.
He'll never do it, but I hear he's consider Pat Robertson or Rush Limbaugh
Looking at that timeline means you were posting in this thread at a normal clip....through the symptoms. Wow. Warrior, says the wind! Glad you’re feeling better. Like most of us that will get it, we may never know.Today, nothing at all, no fever. Took a round of OTC meds this morning but totally fine. Actually best day since about day 6, or perhaps day -1.
Yes, talked to NP got advice, basically was told to triage/isolate myself and be ready to move if fever got much worse.Culdeus's account sounded like he was receiving very crude telemedicine ... basically talking about his symptoms over the phone and then getting advice based on his situation. Culdeus, the clinic you called ... do you go there regularly and do they have your info from past visits? Or was it a new place you called out of the blue?
You are in such phenomenal shape, I would think your biggest threat of infection responses, would be a cytokine storm. Research it, as that may present early in the cycle and not a valid concern.Ok here's a run-down of my symptoms. You tell me if this fits with narrative

No, and left out the part that youngest daughter missed school for respiratory symptoms at day 9 or so. Both kids suffered mild symptoms at about day 4-8 and since recovered. Wife shows no sign of any issues and hasn't at any time.Looking at that timeline means you were posting in this thread at a normal clip....through the symptoms. Wow. Warrior, says the wind! Glad you’re feeling better. Like most of us that will get it, we may never know.
Deep clean your phone, door knobs and stuff. Don’t want your fam getting whatever it was, too. Just curious, did you self-quarantine from the fam within reason?
Great idea. Kudos! This might get lost in all of this, but if anyone here is a medical professional in a hospital, my church is putting together a response team to send care packages to the local hospital for the staff and nurses specifically who are going to be overwhelmed if they aren't already. I'm thinking that just a bunch of junk food and snacks is the usual go to, but I'm wondering if there are other little things we can give them to help them get through long hours of crisis and stress? Any input?
current quarantine location (there are leaves in the pool, sue me)You are in such phenomenal shape, I would think your biggest threat of infection responses, would be a cytokine storm. Research it, as that may present early in the cycle and not a valid concern.
If not, I read about a combination of the two types of acid reflux drugs: Tagamet, Prilosec, like that. There are two varieties. What I saw recommended was one does of each type along with Benadryl. I have no idea where I read this or the author's validity, but since you an get them all overnight on Amazon, wtfn? Have I disclaimed this enough? It could be bs and quackery, but I box a few boxes of each, just in case (wife works at a hospital). :( Also got a gallon of colloidal silverand all sorts of cold/flu meds and vitamins, esp. C, Mag, Zinc and D. But getting all the sun you can is always good for any flue. The D is absorbed better and the virus hates UV light.
Best of luck
Got grocery delivery today. Most stores are waiving delivery fees here. All grocery stores are slammed today glad I prepped
Are those new cases each day or a running total?NYC confirmed:

- 3/9 - 19
- 3/10 - 36

Nioce backyard. I'm moving today and new house has much better pool than current one, but not as nice as yours looks (except I have no power line view). I notice no pic of the ootdoor kitchen I'm sure you ahve.current quarantine location (there are leaves in the pool, sue me)

Have supplemented magnesium, zinc, and misc. other stuff.
Still playing the NCAA tourneys (men's & women's) in empty arenas, or did I miss a pronouncement cancelling the respective tournaments?college basketball seems like it is done for the year.
total, sorry. Will be more specific. Are those new cases each day or a running total?
I think we should basically shut the whole country down at this point. I don't know what else to say. This is terrifying. The situation in Iran is not good.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/2020/world/iran-coronavirus-outbreak-graves/
Satellite imagery has uncovered 2 trenches totaling about 100 yards in length to bury the death. As of March 3rd 80+ people were buried in a section for people who've died because of the virus, even though official death count was at 34. Another cemetery had 250+ buried victims even though the official number was 77 deaths.
Pretty sure @ghostguy123 is an RN at a hospital in CLE (at least that's what my notebook says)This might get lost in all of this, but if anyone here is a medical professional in a hospital, my church is putting together a response team to send care packages to the local hospital for the staff and nurses specifically who are going to be overwhelmed if they aren't already. They have not announced it - but I feel like its coming with the conference tournaments being canceled. Other sports/leagues are shutting down.Still playing the NCAA tourneys (men's & women's) in empty arenas, or did I miss a pronouncement cancelling the respective tournaments?
I've gotten a few "likes" and "thank yous" for this post, but I wanted to add something:"Dry cough" would be no accompanying "rattling" sound in the back of the throat. Little to no phlegm coughed up. No sniffly nose dripping into the back of the throat causing a post-nasal drip cough.
Cough from COVID (and some other illnesses) won't be a short coughing fit followed by ten minutes of silence, then a few more coughs, etc. It will be persistent "can't catch your breath" coughs with only infrequent interruptions. The "couple of quick coughs, then quiet" guy in the checkout line isn't generally a problem.
Its so sad. I used to feel certain we could out-respond third world countries.I think we should basically shut the whole country down at this point. I don't know what else to say. This is terrifying.

Get all the sun you can. If I could do only one thing, it would be lay in the sun and soak up Vit D and sterilize myself.
Elderberry lozenges or chewables. This might get lost in all of this, but if anyone here is a medical professional in a hospital, my church is putting together a response team to send care packages to the local hospital for the staff and nurses specifically who are going to be overwhelmed if they aren't already. Agreed -- I am pretty surprised that the NCAA didn't insta-cancel yesterday after what happened with Rudi Gobert and the separate incident with Nebraska basketball coach Fred Hoiberg (though he has since tested negative IIRC).They have not announced it - but I feel like its coming with the conference tournaments being canceled. Other sports/leagues are shutting down.
It will be harder to justify, even though this is a limited window event.
That's more what I was expecting.
The wealthy will have no problems getting tests. It's like George Carlin said: it's a big club and you ain't in it.How did an entire NBA team get tested so quickly?
They are the winter cushions, bro. what kind of operation do you think I run around here? That's more what I was expecting.
Go ahead and spring for new chair cushions. I'm sure those are contaminated.![]()
