My question is about the timing of giving the drug. In the study you posted it was given after exposure with the intent to see that the drug would prevent a patient from contracting COVID-19, correct? The study the demon loving reptilian doctor discussed was high doses of the drug concoction within 48 hours of the patient being confirmed positive with the intent to lessen the effects of the virus and speed recovery. Two different objectives, right? Or no? I don't know, just asking. See below from the mask lover.

So.........my wife has been exposed at work...two people positive and they're young, nobody masking well there. She felt sick today so she went to get tested. Woke up to find this out and I've got a headache so I called my boss. Now I'm off the schedule pending a test too. (Was working and likely charge RN tonight and tomorrow)

Happy to be home, but not happy to leave the unit short on short notice when it's been awful already :(

People want to blame the American people and government for being stupid but other countries are dealing with quarantine fatigue. There is no avoiding this virus. If we locked down for 45-60 days eventually that second wave would be inevitable so everyone needs to stop saying we would be done with this. Its completely untrue. I get everyone is frustrated but stop with the hyperbole.

I dont disagree. And mask usage is barely necessary outdoors (unless in very close quarters like bars). How do I know? Because where I live NOBODY wears a mask outdoors anymore and EVERYONE wears a mask indoors and our numbers have barely changed in weeks (around 20 cases a day).

Covid worldometers -  more of the same bad numbers, but with a twist.  284,000 new cases today ...but Brazil leads the way with over 70,000 new cases.  US follows with 67,000 (still a terrible number).  Of the 6,800 deaths today, Brazil leads there as well with 1,554, followed by the US with a high count of 1,485 deaths.  With that, the US passes France and moves up to tenth on the count of deaths/million.  FWIW, Canada reported just 476 new cases today and 5 deaths.  

In the US, the top five states in cases/million are Louisiana, Arizona, New York, Florida, and New Jersey.

So, Asia has 4.3B and 92k deaths.  Taking those out and US accounts for 10% of the remaining population but still 27% of covid deaths.  So, we are still disproportionately high.

Going from one extreme to the other seems crazy to me. The teachers must be getting whiplash from trying to figure out how to prepare. I’m not really sure how any school can safely send 100% of kids back at a time in most places in the US right now. If nothing else, I don’t know how they can do lunch safely. I don’t know many/any schools that have anywhere they can spread all kids out 6+ feet without masks to eat lunch.

What could really suck is if numbers start shooting up and suddenly they have to reverse course and keep kids 100% at home after like a month of school. That would be even more chaotic than taking it slower.

I do know that I am really thankful not to be a school administrator having to make these decisions though. Pretty much every option sucks.

Nobody in their right mind could make this argument that Real county TX, population sub 3500 is a top 10 hotspot in the country.

Forget the scare headline. That's still a lot of cases for so small a population of a county. And I assume people there live far apart, don't navigate crowds regularly, etc.

Do you have insight on how those 65 cases got there? An individual ranch, meat-packing plant, or some other kind of workplace? Some other way? I'm not sure of your exact location in Texas, but Real Country seems like it's relatively close to your neck of the woods.

According to this dashboard (type in "Real County" in the search box at upper left, then click on "Real County" at left), the county had 8 case on Monday, July 20th and 71 cases yesterday July 29th. Something's happening at the local level in Real County, even if the absolute numbers aren't eye-popping.
