Official Dallas Cowboys In Season Thread (1 Viewer)

lo getting a fined is BS there are linemen tripping guys after getting beat all the time it is just that Tuck is crying like a little baby to the media about it that it is a big news story. Little punk Tuck is just crying cause that d-line got their ### handed to them. Stay up Tuck
Frontrunner for blind homer of the year right here.
That is fine I will be blind but is every tripping penalty fined this much? If so I stand corrected. Cause I see tripping every week.
Honestly (and you can snicker or not with that) I don't feel like I see tripping a lot. Holding? Yes. But not tripping. Besides, he not only tripped he injured a player, and a good one at that. This fine was probably one of the more predictable events this week in the NFL.

The player should not be fined only if a player gets injured on a penalty play. Look all I am saying is I see this a lot (tripping by an OL). I can't ever recall a fine for this type of penalty. Even so Tuck really needs to stop whining cause Flo was not trying to injure him he was stopping Tuck from killing Romo. It's not like he kicked him in the damn shoulder. Should he be fined ok maybe I can live with that but I bet if that situation comes up again Tuck will be getting tripped again. Trip Tuck or let your franchise QB get blind sided. Not a hard decision. Every OL would do the same and has, even if you say you hardly ever see it. (Most of the time the Refs miss the call that just happen to be out in the open. Good Job Flo I wish Tuck did not injure his shoulder but it is better then Romo injuring his from a Tuck piledrive to the turf after a blind side hit.

You only trip someone if you've fallen so far out of position that you can't even hold them. Aunt Flo has a lot of self-examination to do here and none of it has to do with Tuck's "whining".

If he was trying to protect the QB he could have held or tackled Tuck. The trip was a dirty play, he tried to do it again to Osi. Just don't suck so bad Flo and you won't be fined.

I am sure if he could have grabbed him he would have his momentum was taking him the opposite way so he stuck his leg out and tripped him. Sue em. Not saying it is not a penalty it is and if the league wants to fine cool no problem with me but let's make sure everyone gets fined that amount for every trip from now on.OVER IT. See you in NY and you better hope you get 4 TO's again.

Oh, whoa is me, and people wonder why Cowboys fans are hated so much. We lose a game and the end of the world is near. If anybody has ever played this game at any organizational level you know that you pick your ### up and get ready to play the next game. That's right, there's a game to be played next week. And the week after that, and the week after that. You don't sulk and feel sorry for yourself or make any indication as to who's fault it is. It's over. You move on. You suck it up and get prepared to line up with your next opponent. If you're going to mope, you turn in your jersey and pads to the equipment room and make your exit.Yes, we would have liked to win that game, and should have won that game. It's over. We lost. Reasons for the loss will be addressed in the film room and on the practice field. That's how you fix it. You work on your shortcomings and mistakes in preparation for the next game. That's what everybody does at any level, and you can bet your bottom dollar that that's what the Cowboys will do.Enough of the big stage. The opening of Jerry World is over. It was an embarrassment. Ever been embarrassed? Ever wanted retribution? If you have a gut you have. So we're 1-1, big deal. So are the Patriots, Steelers, Packers, Eagles, and Chargers. And let's get off of Tony Romo's butt. He's only helped quarterback this team to the 3rd most points scored in the league thus far(65), behind only the Saints(93) and the Ravens(69). The Steelers have put up a whopping 27. The Patriots? 34. Yeah. The Chargers? 50. Ya, Romo had a big stinker, but I've never had a greater sense that this one will finally sink in. The guy can play, let's not forget that. His career QB rating of 94.2 is only bettered by Peyton Manning and Tom Brady among active QBs. So who is it exactly that anybody wishes to replace him with anyway?I've said since the offseason that this team will have no trouble putting points on the board. That it is the defense we need to focus on. I pointed out opening day morning in this very thread that this unit is looking at 5-6 new players and it will take some time for them to gel. No sacks and no forced turnovers are killing us. Yes, Wade is a sorry head coach. That much is clear. But until Mike Holmgren is introduced as the next head coach, I still have faith in Wade getting this defense to perform to the level that they are capable of.Today may have been the first day of fall, but that doesn't mean that the potential of this Cowboys season will fall as well. Nature is an amazing thing, just as the NFL season is in it's entirety. Leaves change and turn different colors, as does the integrity of different teams. Let's give this team and in particular the defense a little time before we decide to rake them up and bag them.Parcells always said that nobody knows anything until after Thanksgiving, and he's right. There are 14 teams currently sitting at 1-1. Let's allow them a little more time for them to show their true colors.
Andy, you are entitled your opinion but please don't condemn me for not being positive about the club. You get to have your opinion as do those of us fans who have brought up major concerns/trends with this club. You don't think other teams fans do the same thing? Come on! I also take offense to the assertion that this is some how is damaging the Cowboy's fan "brand"-please spare me the melodrama. As of this moment here are the negatives (Yes, there ARE good things too-but that's not what my reply is about).-I see very little evidence of Romo stepping up from very good level of QB'ing to a Chamionship QB.-I see a team that is not able to generate any pass rush even when it brings 5, 6, or even 7 on blitzes.-I see a team that can't play zone or man to man coverage.-I see a team with poor tackling fundamentals.-I see a coaching staff who are willing to continue to make the same errors over and over (Garrett-play calling and not playing to our team strengths).-I see a lame duck coach who is a defensive specialist with the 30th D in the league.-I see a GM/Owner who is a part of the overall problem. As for them being embarassed, how many times has this happened in the past?-Seatttle fumble game-Losing to the Rams last year-The Ravens debacle to close Texas Stadium-The utter beating we took with everything on the line in Philly. I like it was 44-6...say it a couple of times out loud. However, because of this last game embarassment-that was what we needed??? Aren't we kidding ourselves a little? Please don't confuse my anger, frustration etc for lack of support for the Cowboys. I'll cheer them whether they are 0-16 or Superbowl champs. However, I will continue to call em like I see em.So, we should all trust you that "Everything's OK" and the rest of us are all crazy?Um yeah....my right brain is really strugling with that one.
That post was simply in general to all of the negativity flowing through the thread. I didn't have any particular poster in mind in posting it, and certainly not you.I wasn't looking for anybody's trust in that "everything will be o.k." I don't know that it will be. I was only trying to convey that it's far too early to discount anything. Mid-season two years ago (after starting out 0-2 by the way) New York fans were amping to run Tom Coughlin and Eli Manning out of town and they wound up beating the undefeated Patriots in the Super Bowl. I'm not trying to put the Cowboys in the Super Bowl by any means, but making the playoffs and winning a game once there is well within the realm of possibility. That's all I'm rooting for right now. If we get that far anything can happen.I was simply trying to make a point that the season is not lost no matter how they are playing right now.

Any thoughts of starting Dallas Defense this week against Jake Dellsuck. They going to get some sacks and turnovers at some point right?

Interesting bit of news.

Stephen Jones joins the league's Competition Committee.

The Cowboys' chief operating officer follows in the footsteps of his father, Jerry Jones, and former team executive Tex Schramm. Jerry Jones served on the committee for two terms.

The eight-man committee is made up of coaches, executives and ownership representatives. Jones replaces recently retired Mark Richardson of the Carolina Panthers.

Off to Dallas in the morning. Can't wait for the game it will be a blast. Front row in section 147 in the endzone yeah baby!!
Oh dude, you're in there.Just in front of the stands at each end zone, there are stages that run the width of the field for the cheerleaders to perform during television breaks. From the stands, the stages look similar to the top of dugouts at a baseball park. You could almost reach out and touch somebody. They'll be right in front of you.

Here's to hoping we get the good Romo on Monday night.
Romo hasn't had hardly one word to say all week outside of his media conference call with the Carolina media, which is mandatory.Gurode and Witten have been more or less speaking for him, essentially stating that he's been very focused all week and that the team has his back.Other than twice in the month of December, Romo has bounced back from a disastrous week with a prolific one in his short career. It's not December, and Barber will be out. So what do you think? I think we'll see a pretty solid outing. This will be WR Roy Williams' first experience with playing on a Monday night. He never had that luxury when he was in Detroit. I wonder why.Recently signed LB Curtis Johnson could also see some playing time helping spell Anthony Spencer, who has appeared to wear down late in games thus far. Barber will most likely be inactive, allowing the Cowboys to make Johnson active for this game. He will also see time on special teams.

Yeah dude I know almost better then a strip club :coffee:

Toured the stadium today really good tour with a lot of info about the stadium and such. Where the Cowboys walk out to the field is cool. There is a big star on the ceiling just something you have to see to appreciate. The stadium is really nice you gota see it for yourself. One thing I was disapointed in was the field was not down they were just starting the process of putting it back down. It takes about 12 hours the tour guide said. I was really hoping to get o the field cause the old stadium you were able to go on the field during the tour. One tidbit I thought was neat was there is like 4 different fields Pro Field College field Practice field and something else I can't remember. Anyways I am hyped for Monday night.

Except I'm not sure which venue costs more money. :)

The roof will be closed tonight, as will the end zone doors.

LB Curtis Johnson is dressed and active for the game. Expect him to see some playing time as I'd mentioned the other day.

Marion Barber is inactive.

First of all I'd like to apologize for my performance last Sunday night. I barbecued all the way up to kickoff and never really had the opportunity to get properly liquored up prior to kickoff. Sure I was knocking down brewskies but I was eating a lot of what I cooked. When I finally sat down I just didn't feel like I had my "A" game and obviously Dallas didn't either.

Tonight is a whole new ballgame. I am halfway through a liter of Seagram's 7 and I am %$#@*&^ READY!!!!!!!

Well then we're ready!... for some FOOTBALL!!Right?!I say we're going to see some good Cowboys football tonight. Two games of film now to study what has been wrong with this defense, and for some of the newcomers to gain a better understanding.Wade has a better idea of plays to call (on defense) and ones to put on the back burner. Let's make this gameplan a little simpler and just play football.Romo took more than his share of lumps this week. He should be ready to get back to playing smarter and making the right decisions.I expect him to come out looking real sharp. He's focused. And, with no disrespect to Marion Barber, we will finally get to see Felix Jones unleashed. With the devastation of the middle of the Panthers line, Felix may still be running when we wake up in the morning.I expect to see a dominating performance on both sides of the ball. The offense clicking and the defense finally coming up with some sacks and turnovers.I say they'll break the ice tonight. This NFC East race is far from over, and they will bring everybody to that realization tonight. It's Monday Night Football at home, and all of that Hollywood hoopla is over. It's time to get back to football."Newman" jersey is on. I'm ready to go! Oh,.. wait. Just one more thing- :lmao:

I hope we put Newman on Smith. "Terence, he's yours. You've done it many times before. Go get it done again!" Such a mano-a-mano challenge may be just what he needs.

That's exactly right. It hasn't been until recent seasons that Dallas would revert to putting Newman on the primary receiver no matter where he lined up.Newman has had his number in recent years. Smith was even thrown out of a game a couple of years ago from his frustration with competing with Newman.

In the opening that featured Tony Dorsett's 99+ yard TD against the Vikings narrated by Frank Gifford, Gifford made mention of the fact that this play was executed with only 10 players on the field.

Dorsett was in the backfield by himself. The missing player? Ron Springs.

How much do I have to drink to get this team motivated? I'm putting 911 on speed dial. #$%&ing play better you @#$holes!!!

Newman started the game playing off Smith. They made a bunch of smoke routes early with success. Then Newman starting pressing. I don't think Smith had another catch the rest of the game.

Yep, and this is how he success a couple of years back under Parcells against Smith.TNew played well, big play there.

This team is in serous trouble. There's no possible way you can win with this group of idiots running the team. Jason Garret had a good stretch for like 6 games a couple years ago, now he's a friggin joke, and bum phillips has allways been a joke. Why were they not all fired this off season, cant believe we in for another season of disappointment before these losers are fired.

Wow we are 2-1, averaging over 200 rushing yards per game the last 2 games, Average scoring is 28pts per game. We just finished a game without any Turnovers and collecting 3 with one for a score. We made a concerted effort to fix our special teams this off season and now we have a great special team unit for the first 3 games. Take a walk on the sunny side of the street for a change.

Garrett called a better game in the 2nd half for sure but I still think we should be running it more. With injuries tonight he's got a crutch, hopefully in the future we'll pound the ball and play aggressive defense. The missed tackles and constant penalties are the things that drive me crazy. They've got a lot of problems but played well in the 2nd half.

A bit concerned about Felix ... I'd think MB3 will be back but Felix just CAN'T be always dinged up like this although Choice is really turning out to be a beast.

Not thrilled with the WR play ... the OL are horrible pass blockers but exceptional run blockers. It's amazing the difference.

I think the Jenkins/Scandrick rotation is done.

I think we found another pass rusher.

Is this team bad against the pass due to over-playing the run? That said, they are TOUGH to run against right now. If they can shore up the pass defense a bit more we should be fine.

Special teams looks better.

Garrett needs to let his mauling OL and tough RB's have the majority of chances at the GL. That could have cost us another home win.

Romo as a game manager who CAN make a play is a valuable winning QB.

Next week should be interesting ... 2 good runners ... supposedly a good defense ... but all offseason Denver was a bad team that's played horrible teams. That said, TNew on Marshall means Royal could be in for his first big game of the year against Jenkins.

I'll be at Invesco for that one. You can bet your %$# I will be representing in Cowboys blue. Thinking about wearing my Cowboys hard hat in case some idiot donkey fan decides to throw a beer bottle at me. Bring it!!!!!!

Represent hard! My Brother and Sister-in-Law are driving up for that one too. I think the Cowboys should handle the Broncos, we'll have to wait and see.

I worked on mine all off-season. If only the donkeys were 1-2 as they should be then tickets would be plentiful.
