Wonder who will arrive first and make the "Tigers only beat the bad teams" post? Should be happening anytime now.

White sox fans.
Oh my, will they be chirping tonight!
     :bye:
:lmao:

 You've already allowed twice as many runs as we did tonight and you're only in the 7th inning ;)
the ratio of runs scored to runs allowed is still the same....
Thankfully, so is the value of each win in the standings

Ironic and funny coming from you because of previous conversations in this thread :lmao: :bye: :P

Has anyone ever seen one man change such a team dynamic? Big props to Leyland who won't let this team have a losing streak. Go Tigers!

I'm not the one who questions a team's wins based on who they play. A win's a win and the team that has the most wins when it's all said and done wins. Geez, that's kinda like my sig. BTW, just snagged 2 tickets for the showdown on July 19th. Care to join me?

10-0 Tigers in the 6th. :pickle:
Thanks for this update. I miss the weekday games because of the time difference and it's nice to see a score if I check in here first. Ordonez is on fire and is the guy we dreamed about when we signed him. I called it. I also said our pitching staff would be better than most and hitting was the question mark. The pitching has been the best in the league and I see no falloff and the hitting has been there when we need it. GO TIGERS! :towelwave:

Give the coaches he brought in a lot of credit too. The pitching coach in particular has really done a number on them, along with Rogers.

how pissed are Twins fans, they win like 9 in a row and can't gain any ground.

Detroit & the ChiSox just destroying the NL central.

Does nayone know what the wildcard rule is, i'm assuming the team with the best record in the AL plays the wildcard? is their some rule that teams in the same division can't play each other?

From Wikipedia:The wild card team (which can be considered the fourth seed in an analogy to other sports' tournaments) usually plays the team with the best record in the league (which can be considered the first seed) in the Division Series. However, an MLB rule states that teams from the same division cannot face each other in the Division Series. Therefore, if the wild card team is from the same division as the team with the best record, then the wild card team will play the second-best team in the league, while the team with the best record will play against the third-best team.

Thames ties it up with a 2 run shot in the bottom of the 9th... we go to extras...
Exciting 9th but I really didn't want Leyland to leave Rogers in after the 5th. His pitch count was already in the 90's and he just didn't have it tonight. I just knew that the run given up in the 6th would be costly.Hopefully, the Tigers can pull one out here in the 10th.

The Tigers may soon be hearing the footsteps of the Minnesota Twins, if the Twins keep playing like they have been the past two weeks.

I'm glad the Tigers are playing strong this year.

Hopefully the White Sox and Tigers can keep it up and prevent the East-coast biased media to shut the flip up about the Bosox or Yankees.

The Tigers must be doing the magic scoreboard trick on the Cardinals pitchers too. That Tony LaRussa is one shrewd SOB. You can't pull the wool over his eyes regarding the 'unwritten rules of baseball'.

The Tigers and White Sox are just as hot. Isnt Minnesota still 11 games back?

I think having the two best teams in baseball is all the AL Central can handle right now
