I have never quite understood why we should care what either party did historically in 1865 or 1964. It is what they have done more recently and where they stand today regarding African Americans, which is of the most importance to people of color. If you were tell someone black they should vote for the GOP because the Republicans freed them or voted more for The Civil Rights Act, they will laugh at you and rightfully so IMO.
I'm going to say that the GOP's legacy as the Party of Lincoln should very much have an influence on its treatment of Trump today.
I am not positive either way BUT if you forced me to pick sides I would say she is lying based on two things

I don't know if that poll was taken before or after Trump's arrival in WI, but I thought him trashing Scott Walker was really foolish. Conservatives love that guy almost as much as liberals hate him here in WI.

It took a while but I'm finally starting to get the feeling that people are coming to their senses about Trump. His head to head numbers and favorability numbers nationally are down too (hard to gauge much from GOP primary national polling b/c of changes to the field). The media is coming to grips with the fact that they've been too complicit in his rise by giving him too much exposure and not enough challenge. The people who hoped he'd change and mature as the process wore on are starting to see that's not gonna happen.
Her sexual assault is probably similar to the Fields complaint...."I want him arrested for sexual assault his hand brushed my ###"..

using pepper spray on someone throwing punches at you for no reason is self defense. You know this is what happened as it's been explained/shown in the video, but you're dishonest, that's okay.
Are you saying that a 15 year-old child, regardless how she's dressed, deserves to be sexually groped if she protests at a Trump rally?

I blame twitter. He only reads 140 characters at a time and most of it snarky. When Twitter is your main reading source it really starts to cause issues with how you interact elsewhere. It's sad but Squiz is a classic case.

I believe that at this point a lot of the support for Cruz comes down to: "viable alternative to Donald Trump".
