Same can be said for Hillary supporters though.
I dont think that is true. I think the ardent support of hillary (if you want to call it that) by a lot of people, including myself, is a direct correlation to how terrible Trump is. Having said that, I do not know what Hillary could do right now that would make her worse or more dangerous in my eyes than a Trump presidency.

Joe Summer said:
Chicago PD only said that Trump didn't speak to any of their "senior command". Doesn't mean that Trump didn't speak to a random Captain or patrol officer or security guard.
And that would make him less of a liar?

Subtle point from the O'Reilly interview: he keeps saying he talked to a top guy in the Chicago police who could solve the Chicago violence problem in a week. "Didn't ask him how, but he was very tough". Then at the end trump says "he was very tough and smart. I called them and said 'you should hire this guy'".

If tough secret plan supercop was a top guy in the Chicago police, why would you call them and say they should hire him? Probably because there is no such guy.

Puzzling!
Was "Roadhouse" filmed near Chicago?  I bet it was Dalton.

The false equivalencies drawn between Trump and Hillary by folks on the right that certainly know better is possibly the single most annoying thing about this entire election cycle. It's like saying strep throat is as bad as terminal cancer just because being sick sucks.
Bueno should be one of the people who know better.

I don't think it's smug to ridicule the most ridiculous presidential candidate and campaign that anyone living has ever witnessed. Do his supporters really not see the day to day absurdities?
Most of the more intelligent ones are too busy hating crooked Hillary, Democrats in general, and progressives especially.

This is not remotely true. There are many of us voting Hillary who would have greater preferred any of several other people, and might even have considered a moderate Republican who wasn't a narcissistic buthole

I don't think Trump should release his tax returns either.

It would just be a distraction from his message of telling people with guns to kill presidents/judges,  imaginary people telling him that he is tremendous, and making up lies that seem to be exposed withnin minutes.

We don't need no stinkin' tax returns dragging this campaign into the gutter, OK?

Trump is Twitter-praising a new Florida and National poll without linking them. :lmao:  intentional or mistake?

ETA:

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump

actually he has a graphic with the National poll from YouGov / Economist Weekly. It shows he is down by 3 but it has +3 next to his name.

Guys, I think Trump has got this..and by "this" I mean a deep-seated mental illness that has largely gone unchecked and undiagnosed.

Seriously, I'd like for him to provide a medical letter from a real doctor.

There's a source notation at the bottom of them.

Thanks for pointing these out, though.  In the national one he's down 3 but the tweet says he's +3, which is a pretty obvious mistake. Just a little thing, but still kind of amazing he gets away with it when you think about it. Any other campaign would have deleted the tweet and replaced it with an accurate one as soon as someone pointed out the mistake, i.e. immediately. Trump's tweet is an hour old and I bet it never gets edited.
I now see you have to click on the image to get the full view.

I think Hunter Thompson would relish a chance to do another installment of Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail.

“The whole framework of the presidency is getting out of hand. It's come to the point where you almost can't run unless you can cause people to salivate and whip on each other with big sticks. You almost have to be a rock star to get the kind of fever you need to survive in American politics.”

Did anyone else read these links? I've only read the VOX one so far. It was so freaking long I had to catch up on 5 pages here by the time I finished. I really recommend for any of the us trying to understand why Trump supporters are.

And I'm going to repeat my stance, because I think it has been misunderstood, jusging from the responses.

I am all for bashing Trump on all his stupid, immoral or just devious policies. But while I understand the anger and frustration with his supporters, I advise more temperance when addressing them. To ridicule and dehumanize a part of our citizenry is to make them a sworn enemy of the you and the ideologies you support. You cement their support of Trump or any other loon who comes down the road making them feel better about themselves.

And read that VOX article. If you're smarter than the hick you abhor, you should be able to conquer its length and complexity.

Finally, I am a libtard, liberal progressive. I am much more invested in securing a more progressive agenda than I am in shaming or dehumanizing the misguided followers of a prominent idiot. Don't get me wrong, shaming and dehumanizing is kind of fun, but it is cross purpose with helping our ideologies succeed.

I am taking what you said to heart and will watch these when I get home.  But answer me one question.  They already hate us so is us hating them making any difference?  I can have a conversation with someone who basically believe that the evolution is false and gays deserve discrimination.  Why should I listen to these people?

I wish I could have watched them They must be read. The second article, while shorter is not nearly as good as the first.

First I would question whether they hated us before we started lumping them together as bigoted, stupid hicks.

Second, I trying to understand their motivation for  supporting such a horrid human being. To me this is the crux. I freely concede that at least a significant segment of Trump's supporters are likewise bigoted buffoons, but another segment is inherently not. What buttons/feelings/whatever is Trump pushing on a micro level to have them disregard basic human decency on a macro level.

I can have a conversation with someone who basically believe that the evolution is false and gays deserve discrimination.  Why should I listen to these people?
Because through conversation, both sides understand one another better. They bond as fellow citizens, despite their differences. And because we are so certain we are correct, we must hope that eventually our conversation will lead them to reason. If you refuse to listen or dialogue with them (particularly when blended with shame, ridicule and scorn), you only succeed in forever making them your enemy.

Try to have a policy discussion with the trumpettes on this board. Go ahead, I double dare you, see how far you get, before it goes "But Hillary" or "Lalalalalalala Not listening"

Education is the key. If we can get their children's heads out of their collective behinds there is a chance

New FL poll: Trump leads Hillary 43 to 41.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/docs/2016/FAU_Florida_August.pdf

Other tidbits:

Favorability: Trump 41, Clinton 40

Loyalty: Trump 94, Clinton 90

Males: Trump 46, Clinton 36

Females: Clinton 45, Trump 41

Independents: Trump 47, Clinton 26

Whites: Trump 49, Clinton 33

Blacks: Clinton 68, Trump 20

Hispanics: Clinton 50, Trump 40

It looks like Trump's appeal to Blacks last week worked. And the Hispanics in FL are not as racist and ignorant as the La Raza crowd in CA.

Choo Choo.

The path to victory is not necessarily rewarding or fulfilling in the short term.

And if you cannot bear the conversation, exit without the scorn and shame,

Kids learn most of what they know through you. If there is a litmus test whereby you can judge someone incapable of humanity, your child will learn such a mechanism for exclusion exists.

Seems legit. You've convinced me. Trump is going to win this thing now that he has momentum.

What came first, Trumpkins or 'Cucks'?

Libtards?  How long that one been around?

My father once told me sometimes it is good to be hated. I would have loved for the Nazis to hate me.  Sometimes the ridicule and scorn is the only way to get someone to see the faults in their thinking. Like hating gays but jerking of to lesbian porn, at some point you have to reconcile those two viewpoints.  Hate blacks but Walter Payton is your favorite athlete off all time?

I think you guys are confusing Trump supporters with hardcore Christians.

Trump supporters don't give a #### about the nonsense issues/distractions that the uniparty wants everyone to get horny over while they line their pockets and bankrupt the country.

And Trump supporters do not hate anybody. If you have been paying attention you would know that it is the left that has brought violence, intolerance, and censorship to this election cycle.

My recommendation would be to stop getting your news and ideas from sources like Vox and Huffpo. They are no better than the white supremacist websites.
