But even if  you don't throw them out, that's an average lead of 4.5% for Clinton (5% without it).  That's up slightly from the start of the convention (~3%).  Pretty sure losing ground the week of your convention would be unprecedented.

2.7 pt lead for crooked Hillary according to RCP average. 

 
That's what it was a couple days ago.  Can you see if that total includes the polls above?

ETA:  nope...latest dates there are 7/20.  Not sure how far back they include in the rolling average so still won't be +4.5%, but that's a lot of data points suggesting she's extending her lead.

If I'm not mistaken Rasmussen was down -6 from the prior week.

I don't think experience is so much the point of criticism as it is judgment.  For however much you might dislike Obama, his errors in judgment are entirely within the normal range.  Trump, however, is a lunatic.

Why wouldn't you?  Trump is using a very basic gameplan.  The idea is that voters get sick of hearing the same thing over and over again and eventually tune it out and go the other way.  The democrats went to extreme lengths over the years to call Bush and Palin stupid morons who say dumb things and then they applied it to the entire republican party.  Its actually common sense that the voters overall are going to get really tired of hearing democrats say that after 10 years (even if YOU think it is still valid and funny).  To most voters, its not original or funny anymore, and if democrats keep saying it, they are going to vote for the guy who represents it best just to shut it up.

Maybe in 30 years, it will be funny again.  But for now, voters do not want to hear it again.  And they are clearly voicing that opinion by supporting Trump.  That's why he's baiting the democrats to keep doing it.  The democrats think they are scoring points by mocking him and every time it just helps him in the polls more.

This is the sort of stuff that gets Trump elected.  If democrats everywhere call him a lunatic, Trump is going to win big.  That must stop.  It simply must stop.  I'm growing more pessimistic by the day that democrats have a clue what they are doing.

Go through the list of Trump gaffes in the past 6 months. Then compare to Obama when he was running. Watch the 60 Minutes interview with Trump from last week. Not even in the same universe. Nobody is with Donald, mind boggling he got the nom.

 
He did just lay out quite nicely the record and legacy of Clinton in the office of SoS.  It's going to sting for her as it gets repeated, as it is all right there.  Her tenure there was a disaster and if he was smart he'd point that out every chance he got.

He got the nomination pretty much the same way Obama did and it was mainly due to their timing. "Change" versus the "Anti- political correctness" that Trump is going with.

I'll repost this from the Clinton thread cause I'd like an answer.

You keep claiming this.  Where is your evidence?  It seemed to work quite well with Palin.  It worked swimmingly when Paul Ryan got his clock cleaned in the debate.  Who exactly are these voters that are motivated to vote for someone that's being called stupid that aren't already predisposed to vote for him anyway?

 
Good speech last night.  I am very interested to see whether that tone appeals to many people who were not previously voting for him.

I'm in a very rock solid Republican area of the country.  Many, many, many people aren't voting for him. They sure aren't pulling the lever straight for Hillary...but they can't/won't vote for him.

Its truly silly season right now.

 
Ivanka almost had me convinced to vote for Trump and certainly had me starting to think that maybe he won't be as bad as I've been fearing.  Then The Donald started speaking. 

What a terrible fear mongering speech full of empty rhetoric and no substance. The longest acceptance speech is certainly among the worst of all time. I think any independent voter or person on the edge was surely convinced to vote for Hillary, despite Ivanka's efforts.

Of course he hasn't a decent chance. You could put a mannequin up there and it would have a decent chance against Hillary, maybe even a better chance than Trump. The country is ideologically divided as it is but put a candidate up that most of the country can't stand, on both sides of the political aisle, and there is always a chance the other side will win.

 
No one knows anything about how the speech played until we see new polling on the race but it's hard to see how that speech would convinced anyone who wasn't already on board.

Incredibly dystopian and made the U.S. sound like a ####hole.

Exactly, I'm not sure how people that were on the fence would feel about that speech. He made America sound like we're going down the crapper and the only way anything will be fixed is if we elect him and only him. If people were hoping for specifics from him, they're going to be waiting awhile.

 
Yes, some are willing to play Russian roulette with the country out of spite for those pointing out how addled they and their candidate are. No, there aren't nearly enough of those people to put him over the top. He could win, but it's not because of those people. They are voting for him anyway because of the steady diet of Hillary red meat they've been getting from their daddies. And, well, because WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!!!11111111 and he's the only one who can fix it.

I really should stop watching Morning Joe,  he always says "Well Trump's not for me but he's connected with the American people," etc.

In many ways it is the boy who cried wolf...the dems have disparaged anyone who they have deemed a threat dating back to Reagan...pretty much every Republican that has challenged them has been attacked with many of the same labels that are now being thrown at Trump...I think many are tired of this tactic...if Hillary wants to defeat Trump I don't think this strategy will be the way to go...if she wants to win she should show why a continuation of the past eight years is a winning formula for our country as well as why the American people can trust her to be her their Commander-in-Chief...
