So then why fail to show up for the hearing?  With so many rumors and so much speculation floating around aimed at the core of public confidence in the system, why go silent?  Why not clear the air?  Why the silence?
What do you want them to do, send a letter to Congress explaining they don't have an answer but are diligently looking into Trump's possible victory as a direct result of Russian interference with the democratic process a week before the EC vote? How monumentally stupid would that be?

Hey, you guys remember when the Republicans filibustered to get rid of special prosecutor powers because it was a Congressional overreach of authority but then immediately voted it back in because they were hoping to make something out of the Whitewater scandal?

Politico Fires Writer After She Suggests Trump Is Having Sex With Ivanka

Shortly after this report was published Politico contacted The Daily Caller to say: “This tweet is completely unacceptable and is an obvious violation of POLITICO standards. Julia Ioffe is no longer with the publication.” Ioffe is joining The Atlantic in January but this tweet accelerated the timeline of her departure from Politico “immediately,” according to a Politico source.

She insinuated that Donald was ******** Ivanka in a tweet earlier today. (which she deleted for some reason)

There are some nasty people out there.

It was probably right to can her (unfortunately, she's a good reporter, but she screwed up) however the joke was Ivanka is moving into the First Lady's office, so either Trump is 'married to her' (polite version) or he's breaking nepotism laws. It was a fair point but stupidly & crassly made.

"Once the review is complete in the coming weeks, the Intelligence Community stands ready to brief Congress — and will make those findings available to the public consistent with protecting intelligence sources and methods. We will not offer any comment until the review is complete."
If the rumors that hav circulated in the NYT and WaPo are investigation eaks, then that needs to be prosecuted.  If they have reached conclusions, as the rumors suggest, then that deserves to be known.

This shouldn't happen.

The orange #### stick won. This is how it works.
No the electors can vote their conscience.  This is how this works.

Then we can have a civil war and the winner can write a new Constitution without the archaic electoral college and their silly electors and join the rest of the civilized world where true democracy and the will of the people is determined by the popular vote.

I do believe that the electors will be the first to go in that scenario but I'm sure keeping the next Hitler out of the White House will be worth it to them.

Now investigation leaks should be prosecuted?
Either they have something of value to share before the electoral vote, or somebody is trying to undermine the peaceful transition of power.  If somebody has leaked classified information that can't even be confirmed or denied by the intelligence agaencies, then that needs to be looked into,

Yes.  This is what the Dems need to be doing to Trump.  Attack attack attack.  Impugn, make #### up, insinuate, and be relentless.

This is how you beat Trump.  What's worse insinuating incest or saying somebody actually invented ISIS.

So while @squistion was getting his 14 hour nap before reporting to his busboy job, I was on the hill on 4 hours of sleep (my normal).

So I work with a couple of congressman and Senators on various projects, so I get to mix it up with them sometimes.  I was talking with my friend who is the Chief of Staff of a senior GOP Senator today, an awesome GOP Senator FTR, and he was giving me some dope on some of the shenanigans up there.

So there is a tram underneath the Capitol that connects it to the Hart and Cannon buildings which are the office spaces for Congressional members.  So it's a two car system with six seats on each car, so 12 total seats.  The protocol is that a Senator gets his/her own car if they are there, no one else should be able to ride in the car.  Some Senators follow strict guidelines to this protocol, and others not so much.  Bernie doesn't take the tram at all, "he looks like a lost history professor crawling the bowels of the rotunda" as my friend put it.

So after one 14 hour day, as long as a Squisy nap, my friend and his Senator left the Senate floor headed back to the Hart building.  There was his Senator, him and a legislative aide, and then another Senator came up as they boarded.  My friend's Senator is one of the ranking Senators, so he has a lot of pull.  He's also super cool and understands what aides and others do to make legislation happen.  So my friend's Senator said, "you guys come on, let's go."  The other Senator (also GOP) gets on and tells the senior Senator he doesn't want the aides on the tram, because it's "inappropriate."

Senior GOP Senator:  Inappropriate how? These guys just worked dusk until dawn to make sure we got what we needed.  Plus it's a two minute ride!

Junior GOP Senator: It's about the rules, they shouldn't be on here

Senior Senator:  They are staying, you are free to leave

Junior Senator:  I'll remember this (gets off train)

:lmao:

No wonder they can't get anything done.
Nice story.  My dad had some experience in this field and he always explained it by saying these are the kids that ran for student council and student senate. all grown up.

Many people are telling me he has sex with his kids folks.  I'm not saying it, but where there is smoke there's, you know often fire.  We need to figure out what's going on.

You keep this up and you're gonna get a personal job offer from Putin himself...

In a YouGov survey conducted over the weekend, 31 percent of Republicans categorized Russia as an “ally” or as “friendly” to the United States, but only 16 percent of Democrats said the same. That 15-percentage-point gap by party is considerably wider than the 1-point gap YouGov found in late July, when 18 percent of Democrats and 17 percent of Republicans thought Russia was an ally of or friendly toward the U.S.

As the number of successful African Americans jumping on the Trump train rises it will be interesting to see how the libs and fake news respond.

Will they be open to the possibility that they were wrong (about Trump being a racist) or will they double down on their intolerance and throw these minorities under the bus?
Oh that'll be so interesting!

I wonder what Hillary thinks?!?

:areyoukiddinglaughmyassoffrotatingsmilythingy: Yes, this is clearly a watershed moment that the "libs" their fake news and the other 40,890,771 african americans will take notice and heed to the of healing powers of cheeto jesus

The FBI leaked information to Giuliani, and had nothing of value. Should those agents and Giuliani be prosecuted?

At the time I made this point and I was told by those on the right that what was being leaked was too important not to be with an analogy to Watergate.  If that explanation was "fine" then, it's more than "fine" now.

Has anyone looked at the really poor numbers of @VanityFair Magazine. Way down, big trouble, dead! Graydon Carter, no talent, will be out!

He's a maniac
That's amazing. He's integrating every show into his repertoire, this is his Simon Cowell side. When he's doing the appointing, its the Apprentice. He's completely into ratings. This is going to be hysterical.

Barring an international crisis, it seems to me that the key to the success of Donald Trump's presidency will be whether or not he can keep his promise to produce jobs in the 4 states that won it for him: Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania. If he can do this, he is likely to be re-elected no matter what else happens. If he fails he will likely not be re-elected.

How exactly do you do this while simultaneously criticizing Trump for doing the exact same stuff that you're describing?

The goal of all good-natured people for the next four years should be to avoid normalizing Trump's behavior.  If the opposition (which includes many people on the right, like me) decide to start disregarding civic norms, then we might as well just give up now.

Yes.

It's truly just that simple.

Glad to see you're back to making confident political predictions again.  Granted, you were wrong every step of the way over the last 18 months, but you gotta get back on that horse, right?

This is exactly right.

You just do it.  Hypocrisy knows no bounds.  You are still playing by the pre 2015 playbook.  Anything goes now.  Anything at all.

The right just elected an admitted ##### grabber.  You think civic norms are still a thing?
