There is not a league where I would trade Pacheco for the 3.5. He is worth more. His injury was very similar to Pollard's, and Pollard did not start being himself again until the second year after his injury. Pacheco is going through his age-26 season. He should respond well this season unless this is a league where there are contracts, and there is a need to unload him or lose him or some penalty for keeping him. He is a clear hold for the 3.5. I suppose if you wanted to throw a dart, it makes sense.

I think 2.5 is about right. I can see a better dart throw at 2.5, but even then, it is still a dart throw—a much better dart, however.

If someone wants to argue the 2.05 is a no go due to the risk KC adds someone in the draft, OK sure. It's a risk, but not a strong one it will be a Day 2 or better guy given their other holes IMO. But out of 10 other teams no one would offer better than 3.05 even with FFPC's cut down rules?

I've found that 6 dynasty / devy leagues is my sweet spot. I want to be able to give my full attention to all my leagues without it becoming a part-time job. Plus, I'm in 1 dynasty baseball league that includes minor leaguers and that league is more work than all my football leagues combined and I commish 4 of the football leagues.

Depends on the league.

Some leagues are no transactions, like on Underdog and some of the FFPC offerings, others are fully managed just like any other league other than the setting lineup aspect.

There is not a league where I would trade Pacheco for the 3.5. He is worth more. His injury was very similar to Pollard's, and Pollard did not start being himself again until the second year after his injury. Pacheco is going through his age-26 season. He should respond well this season unless this is a league where there are contracts, and there is a need to unload him or lose him or some penalty for keeping him. He is a clear hold for the 3.5. I suppose if you wanted to throw a dart, it makes sense.

I think 2.5 is about right. I can see a better dart throw at 2.5, but even then, it is still a dart throw—a much better dart, however.

I didn't bother responding before and you summed up a lot of what I was thinking. Pacheco for a mid-3rd is absurd. If someone wants to argue the 2.05 is a no go due to the risk KC adds someone in the draft, OK sure. It's a risk, but not a strong one it will be a Day 2 or better guy given their other holes IMO. But out of 10 other teams no one would offer better than 3.05 even with FFPC's cut down rules?

I am pretty sure he did shop around, FYI. I just stood my ground at 3.05. We had like 10 or so back and forth, to which I always countered with the 3.05. My last counter had a message that “this is my last counter, take it or Leave it.”

I gave Jordan Mason, pick 2.07 and pick 3.02 for Patrick Mahomes. Devy league so most of the 2025 expected impact rookies are gone. Plus, have 7 draft picks including 1.1, 1.6 and 2.6 so didn't have roster space for all of them.

This deal was offered to me. Just joined this league and there was a 3 team dispersal draft. My QBs were Tua and Stafford which is pretty yuck for a 12 teamer. I realize Mahomes hasn't been great for FF the last couple years, but like the fact that he seems to be getting back in shape and hopefully can get back to being a FF star. Rice and Worthy plus Kelce back another season gives me optimism.

First instinct was naturally to counter, but decided the deal was good for me " as is" so just hit the accept button.

I actually cut 4 leagues out from 2023. Trying to cut 3 more out this year but not sure I'll be able to hold myself to it. There is nothing I like more then a dynasty startup and I've only done one since 2016, the Sharkpool league, because I don't want to add more.

It's a lot but like I said earlier there are people who blow this number away in the national type contests, some people are in the hundreds. I truly don't know how they do it, maybe have assistants? Setting lineups for that many teams is not really an issue, the work is the blind bid waivers.

I think playing in so many leagues leads to these kind of situations, not being able to give all of them the same dedication equally that is needed. I'm sure you will say you are leaving several leagues in a good situation and some may not, but as a commish I've seen a lot of teams that aren't left in good shape. I'm sure many of these owners play in too many leagues and leave some teams bare of assets because they lacked the time or effort to make said teams the best they could be. I know this doesn't apply to every situation and some take on too many leagues and life itself changes their ability to manage them, maybe including yours. But mostly, I think owners who take on 40 or 50+ leagues play the game of when one goes bad they dump it. This can be a big headache for dynasty commissioners. As commissioner the biggest reason owners dump leagues that I've seen is they say they are cutting back. As I've realized, most, but not all, are they have run their team into the ground with geezers and / or no picks, or both. Just my opinion.

No sir, could not be further from the case.

When I talk about cutting leagues I'm talking about cutting redraft leagues down. Don't even remotely consider cutting dynasty leagues unless there is some major turnoff with the league.

Full disclosure. I've joined 10 dynasty leagues in my life and have quit two of them. Quit an FFPC league in 2016 because I did not like the trading habits of some people in the league, backscratching/favoritism, so decided to leave the league and do a new startup. I told the FFPC I wanted to sale the team, which among it's notable assets had Julio Jones and pick 1.1(Gurley) and in less then hour of me making the team available someone paid full price. The other was a DFWC league I split with poster here Dez because the league was filled with turds and the service and league hosting site are a joke. That was my only league with DFWC and I wanted out so we sold the team last year and it finished first without making hardly any moves.

On the flip side my oldest FFPC team back in like 2016 I was looking at startup ADP and realized I did not have one single player whose ADP was in the top 3 rounds and only one player who made round 4. Devonta Freeman. A barren wasteland of a roster. I remained.

Understand stuff comes up for people and priorities change, but like you not a fan of people bailing so quickly in dynasty leagues and it's been heavily on the increase the last few years. It's a problem IMO, not in leagues filling and continuing, just the way people run their teams and the experience of it all.

I wouldn't know because I don't play or commish in FFPC. I know from experience people leave leagues after after their team becomes terrible. Collecting deposits for initially joining leagues is mostly irrelevant because most owners play more than 1 year. As for collecting deposits on traded future picks, that works up to a point. At the end of the day, I've seen owners play dynasty like they play redraft and "Go for it", without regards to the future and often times their team ends up with very few meaningful long term assets, so they bail.

Rapoport adds that “Carr is weighing options, including the possibility of surgery.” Just eight days ago, Rapoport also reported that the Saints “could end up taking a quarterback” in the 2025 NFL Draft. Carr is not viewed as the long-term answer in-house, but the fully guaranteed $40 million salary he is owed for 2025 was thought to at least pencil him in as the early-season starter. Carr’s odds of contributing meaningfully as a 2025 fantasy asset are quickly diminishing. The development could also spur a move from Aaron Rodgers, who has been in talks with the Steelers for some time now.

My partner and I saw MHJ and JSN as a wash, and Darnold and Carr as a wash, so the pick swap made it worth it. Of course, this was about 24 hours before the Carr news, but we really wanted to get rid of Darnold, and Carr wasn't ever going to be a big part of our plans anyway.

Has the community ever been "high" on Darnold? Isn't the likelihood of him throwing a couple 300+ yard games the same as him throwing a couple two-interception, one-TD games?

Last year at this time, Darnold was on the wire in FFPC superflex leagues and you could get him for a 4th-round pick (vets are available in the FFPC rookie draft player pool). We traded Hollywood Brown and what turned out to be the 3.12 for Darnold and Minshew a couple weeks before the season, so even when Darnold was known to be the starter, he was cheap. (In another Triflex league, right before Halloween, I got both Darnold and DK Metcalf for a 2025 1st, at a time when Darnold was an every-week superflex starter, so even then his value wasn't that high.) It's also highly league-specific -- nearly all of the other teams have three QBs already, and, of the ones that didn't, only one was even interested in Darnold. Yes, it sucks that the QB we got to replace him is now probably hurt, but I think if you can get a reasonable return for him now, then you should.

Has the community ever been "high" on Darnold?

I can't say that I've ever smoked any Darnold. Does it make you paranoid?

I have Darnold as a 3rd QB in a SF league, but I’m going to let his value build a while. Right now seems like a terrible time to sell since the community is so low on him. Couple of 300+ yard games and his value is gonna take a massive leap.

Seattle will need to something about adding some weapons for him to be successful (and probably beef the oline). I do not see it a given that his value will rise anytime soon.

I think people are vastly underrating JSN.

I know you love him and I do like him, but the cupboard is pretty bare after that.

There’s talk of them drafting a WR early. A good rookie, JSN, and Kupp should be just fine, along with MVS and Bobo. RBs are solid too.

And yeah, I know I’m overly high on JSN, but I think he’ll be very dominant and a top 5 WR this year.

I see him as an injury filler and bye-week guy with upside. He reminds me of Teddy Gin Jr. in that way. If the Colts trade him, or he goes somewhere else in free agency, his numbers could increase. I think he will be a free agent next year. The concern with Alec Pierce is the crowded room; they could draft Warren or Loveland. That said, he can go off in any given week.

Ginn is a good comp...I don't think he will ever be reliable for fantasy but in a 12-team league with 25-man rosters not everyone is going to be a WR1 and if the injuries and byes pile-up and you have to play him he can make it worth it in 1 play.

Has the community ever been "high" on Darnold? Isn't the likelihood of him throwing a couple 300+ yard games the same as him throwing a couple two-interception, one-TD games?

Last year at this time, Darnold was on the wire in FFPC superflex leagues and you could get him for a 4th-round pick (vets are available in the FFPC rookie draft player pool). We traded Hollywood Brown and what turned out to be the 3.12 for Darnold and Minshew a couple weeks before the season, so even when Darnold was known to be the starter, he was cheap. (In another Triflex league, right before Halloween, I got both Darnold and DK Metcalf for a 2025 1st, at a time when Darnold was an every-week superflex starter, so even then his value wasn't that high.) It's also highly league-specific -- nearly all of the other teams have three QBs already, and, of the ones that didn't, only one was even interested in Darnold. Yes, it sucks that the QB we got to replace him is now probably hurt, but I think if you can get a reasonable return for him now, then you should.

I disagree with 2 premises here.

1. No, the likelihood is greater that Darnold is successful. Call it recency bias, but he showed a ton last year, outside of the no good very bad last game.

2. I’m in 3 SF leagues and Darnold was rostered in all 3. He was on the FA list in zero of my leagues. That’s simply a false assertion.

They added Kupp and will likely draft a WR.

What they “need” to do is build the interior line after striking out in FA.

I get that you think he's valuable and that he will continue to perform as a top-12 QB. I'm telling you that, in the FFPC superflex leagues that I play in, he's not valued that way, and I don't think he will be.

If single QB I would have taken that 1st offer and if you didn't have a good backup to step in shopped around with the extra picks for a cheaper QB that may not give all of Allen's points but get you most of the way there. If SF not enough though.
