Mainly because I view Hilton as essentially within 4 fantasy points a game of Hopkins, someone I'd phrase as giving you 85% of Hopkins production plus you get a RB who was #15 in PPG  and TE I feel like is a top 10 lock with a chance a legit shot at that TE 4-5 range. Cook's only got 1-2 years in him, I still think Hilton can play at a high level but his age is already working against his value and Carson could or could not be a multi year fixture. In 2-3 years you should be able to still trade Hopkins for a something like a young player and #1 or maybe two #1's, I've seen Julio still draw that kind of price return this year. So again I think it's a good deal for Hilton, I'd take that side because I think he's the only asset I trust to have much value after the 2020 season but I think the team that traded Hopkins away did get better in the short term and I know a lot of dynasty players who like to look at everything through a 3 year window and if that's the rationale I think the trade makes sense.

Again, I"d take Hopkins, don't see this as such a lopsided trade as most because I see rationale that makes sense and because while I do think Hopkins should be favorite in talk of #1 dynasty WR I still don't put quite as high a value on him as most.

In a vacuum without context it is a terrible deal.

With context it is an even worse deal.  The team who traded away Hopkins is terrible.  After the deal MAYBE the team got better for this year, that is very debatable.  Either way, the team is still terrible even after making this trade.  The right type of trade would be to deal for ONLY young unproven players plus current and future picks.  Ya know, appreciating assets.

So instead of attempting an actual rebuild where he has a chance to be good in a few years, he will now suck and be maybe the 3rd worst team instead of the worst team, and then continue to suck for several more years when he COULD have had a chance to put together an actual team.

Already said what I think here with regards to looking at the trade in a vacuum which again is that I don't agree with phrasing the trade the way you or others do but certainly with knowing context it made no sense to deal Hopkins for this instead of using him to rebuild.

I'm in this league too- is that you Shock?

The real reason this trade blows is because the guy did NO diligence whatsoever.  He bought the team, sent out a message saying Hop was available, and sold for that price at 3am without having real negotiations with anyone.

I sent him an offer of Woods, 1.03, and 1.05 as an opener and was prepared to negotiate.  He countered asking 1.03, 1.05, two highly likely top 4 2020 1sts, Guice, Kittle and Josh Allen.  I rolled my eyes and just assumed he was a moron and went to bed.  Then I wake up and he'd accepted that crap deal.

To make it worse, the team he dealt him to has the 1.01, his 2020 1st, and DJ Moore and Christian Kirk, so it's not like he didn't have desirable assets to a rebuild.  The new owner just wanted to make his team competitive this year, so he has promptly dealt Hopkins for a handful of startable assets and traded off all of his picks except his 2020 1st, because he won't pay the deposit.

So in all likelihood, he'll have a terrible season and bail, leaving behind a hopeless team after having boosted a mediocre team into the upper tier of contenders.

I emailed the FFPC commish about it but ya know, they don't do anything.  I thought it was a teachable moment but they just said "trade stands" and moved on.

 
First trade of the offseason for me.  10 team superflex/6 pts per passing TD league.  Team had been consistently successful (3rd, 2nd, 4th, 3rd finished respectively last four seasons).  However with that core aging, elected to undertake a full scale rebuild this offseason.  Take off and nuke the site from orbit time.

I sent:

Keenan Allen, David Johnson, Ben Roethlisberger, Tyler Lockett, John Brown

I received:

Deshaun Watson, Chris Godwin, Ito Smith, 2019 pick 1.02, 2019 pick 3.04, 2020 2nd (likely mid to late)

Pretty close but I probably prefer what you had. But I also don't play in superflex and I guess Big Ben to Watson in that format would be huge and maybe I'm not taking that into account enough.

Yea the jump from Ben to Watson should be pretty huge especially from a long term angle.   The league consensus was also that it was very close for both team's position on the rebuild/win now continuum.  Obviously who I pick/turn 1.02 into will have a big effect on the deal as well.  Still have Antonio Brown and Travis Kelce to move as well but a good first step to hopefully be out of 3rd place purgatory by 2021.

That makes it more bizarre. Terrible trade when much more could have been had.

Allen over Godwin by a lot

David johnson over 1.2 by a lot

Lockett over ito and a second by a decent amount

Brown over a third

Basically the only upgrade is Watson over ben, which is obviously big in a super flex.  But 6 pts passing tds takes away a little of Watson's value.  I think it's close, and since you're getting younger at qb and with the picks, close is good.  I like the deal a little more for the other guy but it's probably a win win.

Yea the trade partner in this one is savvy so we fought tooth and nail over every component here.  I could've run back the same roster and probably been very competitive but was wary of being left holding the bag on the guys I traded in this deal as well as Antonio Brown and Kelce as they all age out of their primes.  Granted they all have 2-3 years of prime production left, but outside of those guys my team had a lot of driftwood in roster spots 10-30.  I had to be honest with myself and realize absent extreme luck I probably wasn't going to win a title as currently constructed.

Got: 2020 #1  can't say for sure will be one of two worst teams in regular season but sure seems like a non playoff pick

Definitely would want to be getting the 2020 1st in the top deal.  I don't think Ebron's TD rate from last year is sustainable.  Between Doyle remaining healthier and likely adding a pass catcher in the draft, I'm not sure Ebron is someone I'd want to be counting on.

Second deal Is probably about right for Ronald Jones at this point.  I would've moved on from him because it's possible Tampa takes another back in the draft.  If he couldn't get past Peyton Barber or Quizz Rodgers for a role on a bad team last year, makes me wonder about him long term.

2020 1st by a ton in the first trade. 

2nd one I would take a shot on Rojo in a vacuum but I'm assuming this was before roster cuts which would probably make me lean towards the pick.

You made two good moves.  I think Jones is just an absolute worthless player and my thoughts on the 2020 class are well documented at this point haha.

Agree on both actually.

The 2020 1st trade I loved and was not really really based on cut down. Got a late night offer for Hunter Henry that got my attention but I wanted to part with Ebron instead and worked out a deal giving him up instead. The only thing that left me feeling negative on that scenario was in another league I gave Ebron and Mark Ingram to get a 2020#1 I don't even view as valuable as the one I got last night. I'd still do that deal if push comes to shove, but I for sure feel like I overpaid.

Also agree on the Ronald Jones deal and frankly it was kind of an accident but I just let it go. That team had offered me 2.7 for both Reed and Ronald Jones and I countered removing Reed. But right after I countered I changed my mind, thought I'd just rather roll the dice with Jones unless I can get a better pick then 19.  So I offered the guy two options. Jones for a 2020#2(his team is not good so figured a high second in 2020 beats a middling second this year) and option two  was throwing in a bunch of players I was going to cut because this guy had 3 open roster spots so I offered Big Ben, John Brown, Justin Jackson and Jones for pick 2.1.  I goofed and intended to pull the 2.7 offer but accidentally pulled the offer asking for the 2020#2.

So I'd have been good dealing Jones for a high 2020#2, good dealing him for 2.1, got some regrets letting him go for 2.7. Did need the pick however, pick 24 was my only pick in top 47 picks.

Yes I know you love the 2020 class and what pleased me about the Ebron trade was that my only FFPC league I'd been unable to land another teams 2020#1 so now have taken care of that in every league.

Side note on the 2020#1's. I was pretty salty waking up today and seeing some of the division alignments in my FFPC leagues. I got put in some brutal divisions but that mattered way less to me then seeing teams whose picks I acquired, unlike the one I got in the Ebron trade, was all from borderline playoff teams and every single one of them ended up in cupcake divisions. Picks I thought had 1.1 potential now look more likely to be 1.7-1.9 type of picks.  I think a better process then random should exist but I'd really like to see them at least do the division's sooner so I can get a better handle on trade value of future picks.

Can't really get my head around the league disbanding. Typically I'd view the 2.4 as most valuable part of the trade. I'm just going to say if this was a typical non-disbanding FFPC league I'd rank it: 2.4, Mike Davis, Gesicki, 4.5 and if this was redraft I'd rank it Mike Davis, 2.4, Gesicki and 4.5 and this seems to be about a mix of those two.

Yeah, that is annoying.  I'm glad they mix it up but agree there should be a better process.  I got lucky in that my projected picks all benefited from the change pretty much across all leagues.  Neutral at worst.

I really don't think you're gonna miss Rojo.  Not even a little bit.

It was set up as a 6 year league that climaxes in 2020. Half the annual dues go into escrow for the 2020 jackpot. And it is actually eight 12 team leagues that all operate independently aside from combining for the league playoffs in a points race. I will be glad after it disbands. Cool setup but a lot of work.

Id actually recommend it to all you guys.

We seriously put that trade through with those conditions on the site.  Bunch of people got the Trade Completed email and have been to the site for the first time in a long time. I got some "you *******" and "hook line and sinker" messages, but obviously nobody is upset or anything.  Just got a bunch of friends in a dynasty league to pay attention during the off season.

I did that with a friend of mine in our league today too.

I thought Njoku, Ware, and Cobb were pretty fair for McCaffrey?  Others disagreed.

The 1st is from a team that eeked into the playoffs last year but has gotten a little better this offseason. I would say mid/lateish on the pick but with ffpc you never know.

I'm not the biggest Ridley guy, but that still seems a little light to me.

 
I like Ridley and have him in a couple spots.  I've debated moving him, but I don't think it's time yet.  If he starts off the season hot his stock is going to rise quickly.  Unless he gets injured he's probably going to hold 1st round value.

I'll take his side in that trade with an eye toward moving him in season.  Or shoot, just holding.  He has an elite WR2 ceiling in my book and is the type of guy who can singlehandidly win you weeks.

I prefer what you got by a good deal.  you're likely to have a shot at a receiver you feel equally as good about at 1.9 this year.   Not a knock on Sutton, just I'm concerned about the QB situation in Denver.  Flacco might be a slight upgrade on Case Keenum in 2019, but he's also at the ages where the wheels could fall off for good at any time.  Maybe a rookie QB changes that outlook but at what point does Elway stop getting the benefit of the doubt?  If he takes Lock at 10 or moves up for Haskins, should fantasy owners be doing a 180 away from Sutton?

Got: Sutton, Pettis, Crowder, 2.10 

The other thing is I had my choice of A. Miller or Sutton...have gone back and forth on whether I chose the best WR or not from that duo.

That's a lot for Mahomes. Not saying I don't like his side, just acknowledging it is steep. If a team is ready to compete now, I can see moving all that for Mahomes. If not I might prefer 1.01/Howard.

 
12 team PPR, pretty standard stuff. Taking over an abandoned team that has a lot of WR depth and crappy RBs.

Gave: Tyler Lockett

Got: 1.11 

Other WRs are Michael Thomas, Stefon Diggs, Corey Davis, Sterling Shepherd, Dede Westbrook, Tyrell Williams, Randall Cobb, Kelv Benjamin, etc. I feel like I can make 3 of those work and wanted to cash in on Lockett having a TD heavy year on low receptions and targets. Aiming for a RB or TE with the pick.
